I ordered on 3/12 and haven't gotten the email yet either. But, I did change my shipping address this morning and received an e-mail confirming the change. I had it set to ship to work and changed to home. I'm taking the chance they were going to ship for delivery on Saturday and I don't work on Saturday and work is 25 miles from home. Worst case I take a day off if it ships on a week day....o shuckey darn! :D

Steve

damn thats s smart thing to do. Im having it shipped to my Home/Business so no matter what either ill sign it or one of the employees here.

They still shooting for end of month

Look like Apple is still promissing end of April to some of us. I just received this in an email today

As much as I would love to stay at home and wait for it to arrive, I am probably going to let my wife, who will be at home, sign for it and then I will take the NEXT day off. :)

The orders that we placed say "Ships Late April" This is different from "Delivers by April 3" which I guess is what it said for the WiFi orders.

An order shipping by April 30 would still count as "Ships Late April" even though the order would be delivered in May.

I hope I'm wrong and we RECEIVE our 3G orders in April, but it wouldn't surprise me if we get them on Saturday May 1st.

I'm dying to get mine, but I guess that the wait is half the fun.

Oh, and it's very smart of Apple to send us that preemptive email about our orders still being on track for a late April shipment date. They just saved themselves hundreds of panicky phone calls.

Just got email, also CC hold

Email just came in. Looked at my CC and there is an $800 drop in available credit... looking good:D

Just a hunch...

Anyone suspect that email of foul play/phishing?? Here's why it could be suspect: I got the same email. Luckily, I didn't click their link to view/change order status - if this is in fact a phishing message of some sort. What makes me curious is the fact that all my other legitimate receipts from :apple: via the From columm/header in mail read "Apple Store" vs. "APPLE STORE" <----all caps is very un-Apple, no??...like this alleged phishing mail that was sent to all of us this morning/overnight. Besides that, the message wasn't even in HTML like typical messages from Apple. Not saying it is, but it seems strange - sort of.

How many times are excited people going to post the email from Apple before reading the thread? My money is on...27. ;)

Seriously though, I preordered mine Friday and got the email, so I am pretty sure anyone who preordered while the date was "Late April" that nothing has changed for you except that you now have evidence of some things finally starting to spin up at Apple.

Anyone suspect that email of foul play/phishing??

It came from a legitimate apple address as far as I can tell, and had all my information in it correctly. I doubt it's malicious, though it's never wrong to question.

Mind explaining how a "phishing email" has my billing and shipping addresses, my Apple account number, and my order number?

What other kind of information do they want if they are already so good at finding my information?

Seriously dude, chill.

They probably sent these out super fast to avoid people freaking and calling them.

Did you expect a cool background and nice spacing?

I got this email this morning from Apple:

We would like to...

I got this same email. I pre-ordered on the first available day in case someone is wondering.

BTW - order status page still says "late April"

Understood, and maybe you're right, but anything I've recieved from them in the form of receipt or otherwise has been consistent - this was a little strange is all I'm saying.

i got an email that says:

So i'm guessing it's going to be like the Wifi iPad how they shipped out the preorders and then released it to the general public a week or two later.

how did they get everyone's info then?
like shipping address, billing address, order #, web order #, customer # ? all of the info in my email was correct.
i think if they had access to that kind of info then they wouldn't need to phish people to get the info they want.

iPad 3G - email from Apple

I got an email this morning from Apple confirming that my pre-order of the iPad 3G will ship in late April.

:D

I got my notice on for Late April shipping, yet no bank charge yet (bofa). I ordered on opening day within 5 minutes of it being allowed to.

I'd say it is legit.

Apple is retarded. Even "by May 7" is not a definite date. I mean what the hell is "by May 7".

All that implies is that the 3G could ship before May 7. No ****.

Seems legit to me. I did notice that it wasn't a typical Apple email - no design, no html, just plain text. But other than that everything seems perfectly legit. It had all the correct order info and customer info etc...

+1 email confirming late april delivery
