[Merged] iPad 3G Ship Rumors

Apple has taken the $800+ charge for my (Wi-Fi 3G 64GB) iPad out of my bank account (just logged into my online banking). When I log into my Apple account and check my order, it still shows "late April" as the projected shipment date. Am I to assume that I have been charged and my iPad will ship shortly? I hope so! The wait has been long enough. ;)

Yes, as an aspiring photographer I have high hopes for the iPad. The fact that it can handle RAW files is, in my opinion, a huge win. This could very easily be the killer app for me. ...but simply stacking a connection kit next to my case and stand just isn't going to cut it for me right now. I want my device!

I had this happen to me too only concerning the shipment of my wireless keyboard. I was all happy and then....pow...let down. :(

Small favor to ask: When the iPad 3Gs arrive, can someone take a look at the 'Add International Data' Option and maybe post a pic up?

I hope the rates & data amounts are competitive.

Lol - Me too! The pending charge fell off of my bank account and I had a fit..then it appeared again. The weird thing is that the new charge is $41 higher. I am going CRAZY! :eek:

Damn, at least u have some sort of charge, i dont see any activity in my account other than Wendy's and 7 eleven in the past 7 hours LMAO. ugggghh the wait!!!!!!! Its a killin me!
 
WAIT A SEC!!!! I just checked my account and i have a pending charge of $14.48 WTF i didnt buy anything in the past 2 hours other then 7 eleven. Something seems fishy here. Hmmmmmmmm:confused:

7-11 - wow! I haven't seen one of those in years! I'll post here as soon as I get any other info. Surely we will all hear something soon :)
 
I have not gone through the whole thread but just adding my little bit of info. I ordered through macconnection.com, who is taking pre-orders. Sales tax in my state is almost 10%, which is why I did not order directly from Apple. Macconnection told me they are supposed to get a large shipment on 4/30, and that they have not yet sold out from that batch. They may be in the same boat as anyone ordering from Apple (4/30 might be pushed back), but they told me they would anticipate shipping my iPad the next business day (5/3).
 
Same here, I ordered early on 3/12 and have seen zero from Apple except a pending charge for the Apple Care for it. I also received a notice that the case I ordered for it is being shipped, but nothing about the iPad itself.

I will be able to protect it with Apple Care and with a case, but will have no iPad to protect.

The case by the way is not the Apple Case, it is from Pielframa.
 
Hi, guys. Just checked my account and I have a pending charge from Apple. I ordered on March 30th. Hopefully not much longer now!!:)
 
sorry if this is a repeat... not reading kahoona thread, lol

I think because of the confusion from the delay for international shipments, folks are assuming that the 3g's are delayed as well. While my order status has not changed (still says "ships late April"), I did get an email about my order last night... here is the guts:

To Our Valued Apple Customer:
Thank you for your recent order of the magical and revolutionary
iPad 3G.
We would like to confirm that your order will be shipped in late
April as communicated at the time you placed your order. You will
receive a confirmation notice when your order has shipped...

I say they are firmly on track for late April. My best guess is it will be in my hands this saturday, the 24th (based on nothing but a hunch).

Hey Guys,

I have the pending charge from the Apple Care like others have said. I got the email yesterday promising late April delivery from Apple.

I am expecting to get a shipping email some time today. I am thinking iPads will arrive Saturday morning and that will be the in store date for the 3G as well.
 
All i want is a pending charge.....

But then i have to remember that they didn't do that for the wifi one until it was in the states.

ETA: Although i'm really debating sending it to my parents house instead of here. I could make that decision if i had a DATE and knew if i'd be home or if it would just be the other-adult-in-the-house-i'm-attempting-to-divorce.

Just so we're clear, my primary beef is with AT&T - who still currently holds the monopoly in the U.S. for iPhone service. Apple has an amazing cash cow - a smart phone with continued sales that could arguably allow all the other endeavors of the company to shut down (Mac, iPod, etc ... ) and still make a gigantic profit. They could flex their muscle at AT&T and affect the type of change I'd like to see occur with the carrier, but won't - and I'm disappointed.

This disappointment may result in my ending the smart phone relationship with both companies when my contract is up.

Because in my estimation, the amount of bandwidth and 3G network resources I'd use with both devices would be just about as much as I'd consume with the iPhone alone. ;)

With your premise. I'm not asking for any of your silly examples above. I think AT&T should allow tethering of a non-3G iPad to an iPhone. :p

Do you see an AT&T logo on the iPhone at all? Do you see AT&T dictating what features belong in the firmware or make you go to their MediaNet webpages and stay within the "AT&T internet"? To me AT&T is just a dumb pipe and should only be supplying the voice/data service.

Apple has done a lot in the past 3 years with the iPhone without having AT&T meddling with the product. To me that is progress right there and was never done before with a carrier. The only way to have had a "pure" experience with a device was to buy unlocked, but America had no clue what that was.
