I'm guessing that he means that the bank finally released the hold. As in that part of his credit limit (or checking account balance) is now available again. This happens automatically after a couple of days or so.

Ordered 64 gig 3g on Apr 3
I'm a she, and I was charged. Not a just a pre-auth. It cleared. I'm so not tech savvy, so I won't attempt to put my personal bank account info up, but I have a pending column, then the column that shows all cleared items. My ipad charge is in the cleared column.
I'm assuming this is a debit card, so I'm not familiar with how that works vs credit card.
We can only hope and dream this means we get it a few days earlier than the 30th.

I ordered my 64g 3g+Wifi model on April 13th. Apple has been charging me for each thing as it ships. Today, they charged me for the iPad itself... My order also doesn't allow me to cancel it anymore, either. Not "ready to ship" yet, not "shipped" like my power cord that is estimated for delivery this Friday, or my keyboard that is already here, but I'm very hopeful that they charged me the same way have been for all the other items... Which would mean that it's coming sooner than the 30th??? Hopefully??? *fingers crossed*

My Bill Me Later account still has the charge as "Pending." I rather expected it to fall off and show back up again immediately at some point prior to shipping, but it's been "Pending" for 8 days now, since I ordered on the morning of 4/13. Apple still shows mine as "Not yet shipped". I suspect that for most of us, nothing will change until next week, but we'll see. I just hope it arrives before the 30th, as I'll be in a seminar all day.

I just got charged $887.03 by Apple to my Amex which is the $829 charge for the 64GB iPad 3G plus 7% sales tax exactly.
Does this mean it has been shipped? Bizarre that they have to ship it this early for an April 30th delivery. Hope they aren't sending it by boat.

My bank just got charged. I have blocked off all my meetings and appointments on the 30th pending delivery of the iPad. I am so desperate for this piece of silicon bliss.
No it would not ship this early. If you look at your Apple invoice online it will tell you a lot of information.
Anyway they have to charge you first then they put your order in the Prepared for Shipment pile, then when that part gets processed it will move from NOT YET SHIPPED to PREPARED FOR SHIPMENT. Then a day or two later it will state SHIPPED ON APR 29, 2010 VIA FEDERAL EXPRESS or something similar. At that point you know for sure that it has shipped and they will even tell you what day you will get it, but we all know that date that is right?
