...Screwed up my order, i made the mistake of upgrading my order from 32GB to 64GB and now delivery date was changed from April 30 to May 7...called Customer Service and was told theres nothing they could do for an April 30 delivery...
I don't think you screwed up. If you're spending 700-800 dollars, isn't it better to wait a week longer and get what you actually want, then settling for something else just to get it one week earlier?
Also you can try to buy one in store on the 30th, and if you get one, you can always cancel the May7th delivery.

Bummer... I called last week to cancel my Applecare - I was paranoid it would somehow redo my order and push it back but I seem to still be on schedule, whew!
I did the exact same thing...with the same dates.
Oh well. I can survive for 11 or 12 days without a case.
Apple Stores have to be getting some in before then - no? They'll probably receive a bunch for next Friday also.
Visited the Fair Oaks Apple Store today and two Beast Buys. No Apple official iPad cases or the nice incase leather bookstyle one. The Customer Rep told me they sell out the same day they come in. He said one guy has come 5-6 times already and missed out. Shipments come in everyday from Apple, and they never know if additional cases will be included. If they are, they go straight to the shelf, and by the end of the day, GONE... Beast Buys had barely nothing in stock and their iPads sat there sputtering on the Internet. Very saaaad.
I did hear from another employee that the iPad 3G will be available to everyone on Friday, so if I wanted to wait to buy one in person, I could. Told him I already had a pre-order online, and he said that was the best guarantee of getting a unit. Right now everyone has to reserve WiFi models for pickup, and they don't sell any outright. While none of this was news, it was good to reaffirm that next time this week I will be playing with my new iPad 3G.
Put my hands on a unit for the first time today in the Apple Store, and honestly, that is the most gorgeous tech device I have ever seen. Buttery smooth, and I really like the iBooks app (But no Dan Brown's The Lost Symbol? wtf??). Everything looked really nice, and I wanted to see the Marvel app, but nobody could get it working fully because the units were locked down by management after customers started downloading apps to the iPads. hehehe...

I'm surprised that you can't reserve the cases to pick up when they come in. I'm wondering if you can order off bestbuy.com to pick up in the store? Regardless, knowing that their mark-up is high on the accessories, Best Buy has to be real happy with the iPad so far. I wonder what it took them to be the exclusive non-Apple retailer - probably something built-in to their deal to be a licensed Apple retailer in some of their stores.
I'm really surprised Apple didn't have higher stocks of the accessories. It may have cost them selling Apple cases because some people wouldn't want to wait and probably ended up buying them from different companies. Having 25,000 or 50,000 extra cases now, maybe more, would probably have been very profitable. It's not like they couldn't get rid of them with the millions more they're projecting to sell in the next couple years or even with later versions.
Yeah, the lost my sale. I went in yesterday to purchase a case and the dock for my impending 3G iPad. Alas, there were none in stock and no indication when they would be available. So, I just bought a nice Incase slip case.

For anyone who ordered after the cutoff date, what is the estimated delivery date for your iPad? Is it May 7th? Gonna try my luck at the Apple and Best Buy stores Friday, but I doubt I'll be able to get to a store before 5. Might be worth pre ordering if it's just a week.
Keep in mind that NONE of us have an estimated shipment date yet. All of our invoices still say "Late April." The only item stating 30 April was a news story on Mac Rumors.

Read CLOSER. I interpreted the question to be about shipment dates on orders, which frankly none of us have except "late April."

Yeah, but I read that one of the FedEx trucks got a flat tire, so you have to figure that unforeseen occurrence into the equation.
This thread is insane and must be destroyed. The iPad 3G is coming to your frickin fracken door April 30. If yours doesn't it's because you've been bad and god took it away from you by direct intervention of storms and flat tires. Oh the humanity!
Perhaps it's just me, but I PREFER a single merged thread on iPad shipment rumors rather than reading 46 new threads per day on the same topic - which is indeed what would happen if it were closed...

Might want to double-check your facts, NewsFlash.. they aren't SHIPPING on 30 April, they are DELIVERING on 30 April. If they use FedEx, they could very well choose overnight delivery and that would mean no "tracking numbers" until Thursday, 29 April.
