Placed my order for the 32gb 3G on the 13th.
Got me Pre-Authorize charge for 1.00, 1.00 and 774.56
Then it disappeared
Well i got my FINAL charge for 774.56 this morning from Apple, So this is a actual charge this time, not a hold ( because they already did the hold )

Shipping status still at Priority though.

Quick question - charged via debit or credit? If debit, which bank?

I got Pre-Authorize charges

4-19 : $669.89

4-20 : $669.89

Both disappeared also.

But no Final charge yet. I got the 16gb 3G on the 22nd of march.

I use my Visa Debit/Credit card ( used as credit ) issued by my bank, It can be used as a Debit or Credit and has the Visa logo. I checked my bank account this morning online.

I am almost certain this is the actual charge, because when i first placed the order i got the pre-auth hold that stood there for a day or so, then disappeared, i dont see why they would do ANOTHER authorize and then a final charge ( hitting your card 3 times? would be rather much )

They don't seem to be 100% sure.

Anyone have any experience with changing shipping address for an iPad? Will that affect delivery date?

I changed mine early last week and it had no effect. I got a confirmation email right away acknowledging the change.

IMHO though, I think it's getting a little to close for comfort to make a change now.....atleast online like I did. You might try calling Apple Customer Service, but I still think there is a greater liklihood something will get hosed.

Don't worry this is normal.

Federal law states that a pending transaction can not be held for more than three days without the bank obtaining a reciept. Apple resets the three days everytime there is an inquary of funds. It does not mean it stopped the order or payment only that it will eventually come out when your bank gets a reciept.

If the reciept has a tracking number the reciept will be delayed.

My credit card has the pending charge from Applestore as of today, so I would imagine the charge will go through the next couple days when Apple ships my iPad 3G.;)

With two previous pending charges, I'm so tired of this ordeal. Just take my money already, Apple!

Lightening took out my cable & Internet last night (not at my house, out somewhere else). No eta from comcast on a fix either.

What I wouldn't do for my 3g ipad to have arrived last Friday. Let me count the number of ways I needed it while out of town this past weekend too.....

Sigh.

Hurry up!!!!

Well I got a box from Apple today - my iPad cases. They shipped on 4/22 with an estimated delivery date of 4/27....I got it a day early. Let's hope they have the same efficiency with the iPad!

My case was supposed to ship on 5/4 with delivery on 5/7, but it shipped this morning (China time - overnight for those of us in the U.S.) and I'll have it Wednesday. I doubt the iPad is gonna be THAT efficient. :p

I actually unplugged my computers last night because I was worried about the lightning. Apparently, Hillsborough County had over 800 strikes in one 20 minute span. Gotta love the lightning capital of the world. :) I'm just glad my electronics survived intact. I have a final on corporate tax law on Friday that I have to take via computer/internet. We have Brighthouse where I am, so I'm glad they didn't get hit.

I've had 3 pending charges that all dropped off...

My first pending charge (878.74) appeared just before the Wifi version was released, this dropped off after about 4 days or so. (I used a debit card w/ Chase bank)

The second pending charge appeared this past Monday again for the full amount, when I checked on the following Wednesday to see whether or not it had dropped off... I noticed that I had 2 pending charges for the entire amount (878.74 X 2). (which impacted my available balance btw.)

I called up Apple and they said that pending tranaction that posted Monday had dropped off from there end that that the bank would soon adjust my account accordingly.

The pending charge from Monday, finally dropped off on Thursday a.m. which left only one pending charge, and that one eventually fell off this past Saturday a.m.

At this time, I have no pending transaction with Apple, so I wrote all of this to say "yes" that it is possible to have repeated pending transactions that never seem to materialize into anything.

You would think that that they would have taken the funds the last time that the pending transaction was posted since they're going to be shipping them off anyday now. I'm not excited about shelling out nearly 900. but at least it would mean that I was one step closer to getting my ipad on Friday. Frustrating !

You weren't around here last week, were you? ;)

I run everything on a UPS, so thankfully none of my stuff got fried. I have no clue how far out the hit was, I just don't do well not being able send email. The inet here at the library is mega slowwww too.

It's just not a good week for me to not be able to get email, after saturday it can happen! Of course, I have the 3g arriving on Friday.... After i wont need constant contact. Figures huh?

I just had someone ask me to send the pictures in smaller batches. Ha. Can't dude.

Given how spotty Brighthouse can sometimes be, I am constantly relying on my iPhone for internet/email. That was one reason I chose to wait for the 3G. Good luck getting all your work done. I just hope my internet holds out for my exams. Heh.

I'm in Hillsborough County, and it was insane. Luckily, no close strikes. I was actually up working on the MBP and iPad until 2:30 a.m. Everything at home and at the (nearby) office is plugged into surge protectors/battery backups. The windows rattled many times.

I'm in the process of re-desigining my law firm's workflow to take advantage of the iPad (currently have the Wi-Fi, but awaiting a second – the 3G). Hope that's the end of the storms, and the 3Gs arrive on time. However, I survived the KFoD, so, this shipment should be cake.

A little off topic, but if any of you have workflow ideas or app suggestions, I'd be happy to listen. Currently moving to: Box.net; Highrise and Basecamp (37 Signals); Goodreader; and the iWork suite for iPad.

I don't have my iPad yet, but I couldn't really give you any workflow advice anyway. The firm I will be working for has a centrally hosted system located in Minnesota. All of the attorneys and staff basically run terminals in their offices that connect to a remote system that handles all the document management for the firm. Everything is done through a VPN on site, or if we are off site, we can use Citrix to log into the system. So, I don't know that I would have much advice for you on that. Others probably have better advice. :) Good luck with your firm's doc management though! I'd be interested to know how it goes, although I am doubtful that I will be able to integrate my iPad into the office's workflow (apart from being able to log into my desktop PC via Citrix).

Thanks. Good luck with your new firm. Checked out your link.
Go Gators! I'm a double Gator (undergrad and law).
Who'd you have for Contracts? Harrison was a trip. I think he taught stoned sometimes.

Haha, I had Hurst for Contracts, but I had Harrison for Antitrust and Law and Econ. He was a trip. He couldn't be our Contracts prof, because his son was in my section. During the summer section of Antitrust, he would show up in track shorts... I don't know if he was stoned, but he was definitely a little out there. :) My Crim Pro professor DEFINITELY showed up drunk though... at 8 AM. Crazy guy. He's still teaching.
