[Merged] iPad 3G Ship Rumors

Guys, it is still only Tuesday. Apple will likely be doing overnight or two day shipping. There is still plenty of time for our iPads to get here by Friday. If you haven't had a shipping notice by this time on Thursday, then worrying is understandable. Either way, you ordered it, you will get it on Friday and if it is a day late, so be it. You can always go get one at the store and return the one shipped to you if it is late and you need it right away.
 
I was hoping Apple would send them out earlier to the preorders. Like Wednesday for 1st-day, Thursday for early to mid April preorders, and Friday for the last-minute. Oh well, Friday isn't very far away. :D

I could go into a whole long explanation, but by flight times and the way ups/fedex works, the latest they could ship them would be Thursday AM EST (Thursday night in china). As they would reach Memphis or Louisville around 1 AM Friday, and have plenty of time to get to our cities on flights that start leaving around 2:30 AM EST.

basically ups and fedex won't tell you that you can ship that fast internationally on their site, but apple through worldship/ international consolidated fedex freight IP can consolidate and work with the company to find the exact limits of the system.

Because in a basic sense, your iPad could leave Thursday morning and get there Friday without any problem. Howevee there is customs to worry about, but again apple can work with them on that and get them cleared quickly.

Also, if they come from the us they definitely will be shipping later this week. :D

Either way, AT&T will be having fun on Friday with the network load ;)

P.S. I am not racist. I actually have a few friends of Japanese heritage and an exchange student at my school from japan. Just a classic flashback ;)

LOL. Just thought I'd post a pic to go along with the other senior citizen comments. Add me to the list of "old fogies" on here. I'm 44.
 
49, bought my first Apple II+ in 1980, first Mac in '84. Currently have a Mac Pro, MacBook Pro, iPhone and am just as excited about getting my iPad this Friday as I was in 1980.:D

Likewise, mine too now says 'Prepared for shipment' on the detail page and I'm no longer able to edit the shipping address.
