[Merged] iPad 3G Ship Rumors

It seems odd that it does not have the "Print Invoice" after it. Once it gives you tracking number, it typically will also allow you to print invoice, am I wrong? I think it is bogus.

The UPS guy beeps everytime he pulls up to the building, so that way if you have a shipment that day, you know its yours....The FedEx guy can NEVER find my apartment, which worries me..

Yup. UPS is real friendly here. I hear that FedEx are independent guys so they might be ok somewhere else but not here. Here's to getting ours on time in one piece.

I call BS on this one. I do not think they will ship via FedEx Ground. I just don't see it happening. Why on God's green earth would I be getting all my accessories from Priority (Express) delivered by 10:30am, and they ship the main thing - the iPad via ground?!?! Makes NO sense.

It would possibly make sense if the iPads are being shipped from within the US and the other accessories were shipped from overseas.

But, I agree it seems fishy, especially given that no one here is posting proof of shipping yet. Seems likely that they will start to ship within 24 hours of being "prepared".
 
My order status also changed to "Prepared for shipment." However, my credit card still hasn't been charged.
 
I guess this is being done in order of iPad 3G storage capacity?
I noticed that someone posted "Prepared for Shipment" for an iPad 3G 32GB that was ordered on April 19th. I ordered my iPad 3G 64GB on April 17th. I'll probably get my shipment status update tomorrow. :D
 
Side-note vent to pass the time....

Two of my accessories were shipped one day apart. They both arrived at the local fedex facility this morning, however one is scheduled for delivery today and one is scheduled for tomorrow. :eek:
 
On the 9 to 5 board there are a few reports of getting shipping numbers.

Friday is slowly getting here. These last few days will drive me nuts.

Somehow I have trained my body to wake up at 6 AM. It'll come in handy on Friday.

The geek in me has push notifications set up on my iPhone. Thank God Delivery Status touch got updated. The earlier version wasn't working with the 4.0 beta.

The thing to look for now is check your online credit card account, as they will not ship without charging you a final actual payment. At least i don't think they will. Pre-auth charges were done last week. That was done to keep you in the order loop. Now the next step is to have Apple charge the for the iPad and then you will see the actual shipping shortly afterwards. Thats my opinion.
 
They are shipping iPads from US!

Just spoke to Apple customer rep, my unit is shipping from Jonestown, PA, scheduled for Friday.

No customs to worry about.

I bet we don't see tracking till Thursday!

Boy Apple loves this intrigue thing!

Always keep your customers guessing!

I take it back. They delivered both of them about 10 minutes ago. Now I just need the iPad.... :rolleyes:
 
Scared that FedEx won't find my apartment...

Okay, I still have my Ipad 32 3G as "prepared for shipment" but my girlfriend's iMac has been traveling for 3 days in a FedEx car and they always say that the customer is not available, then this morning same thing happened with my iPad case... I'm scared to even think that my iPad will suffer the same fate as the others...

Do you guys have any tip on how to make sure the FedEx driver will not be lost? I'd rather have UPS, they're predictable... gets here between 1130 and 2pm... FedEx? unreliable.
 
I hope someone reports as soon as possible if they bought their 3g after 4/19 and they are notified "ready to be shipped".

I know, I know, I'll be patient but it is exciting to hear how everyone is hearing about the status of their order.
 
ipads coming thursday

My ipad case was stuck in Memphis for a few days. It finally showed up this morning. The guy was like smirking at me asking me how i got mine a day early. I laughed at him and said a day early? This case been sitting on the ground in Memphis for a few days. He said ahh I thought it was the Ipad. He replied well maybe tomorrow . I said tomorrow no friday is when I read Apple was sending them. He said no they were briefed by management that they have 800-900 for the local area and they would start coming on thursday, but not by the guarantied time of 10:30 but the ground time of 3 pm. I was like 3pm? Where did they get that time from? He said they sent them two day shipping is why. I was like mine says priority. He was like maybe you get it before 10:30. Long story short I don't know if mine is coming tomorrow but some people should be getting these things then. Don't bother doubting my story cause i could care less about your flaming opinion, just passing on a story! Good luck to those lucky enough to get them tomorrow hope I am!
PS no I haven't gotten a tracking number yet either, which is strange even if it comes on friday

It'd be much easier to follow if you used separate paragraphs.

That said - it'd be awesome if iPads start showing up tomorrow.
 
I hope they do arrive tomorrow just to piss people off that won't be home to sign for them. That would be glorious--won't happen though.

Either way, I better call FedEx and make sure that they have gas in all their trucks and air in all their tires. Then I'll call Apple to see if my order status of Prepared to Ship can be confirmed verbally. I don't trust these computer things to tell me the truth, you know.
 
Yep, these computers are very unreliable. Let's all call Fedex. And lets call UPS too, they might know something. Hell, while we are at it, Microsoft might have gotten some insight. :)
