[Merged] iPad 3G Ship Rumors

Don't forget to call FedEx tomorrow to remind them to gas up their trucks. You may want to ask them to check the tires for air too. But first, call the city to see of there will be any road blocks in your area so you can alert FedEx.

My status shows that it (my camera kit) shipped May 29 (left FedEx origin in Shenzhen, China) with an estimated arrival date of May 3 via Fed Ex

I don't disagree with you. But realistically, creating an "effective" algorithm has to be tough. Identity thieves know the credit card companies are monitoring card usage and adjust their spending patterns accordingly. It's a huge chess match between the thieves and the CC companies.

LOL. At least this time we won't have to worry about a "Korean Plane of Death" or tracking iPads all across the Pacific. :)
 
I just checked my order status (yet AGAIN) and was pleased to discover that I now have a tracking number!

It's via FedEx and "Shipment Travel History" says:
Apr 29, 2010 12:53 AM Shipment information sent to FedEx

That would appear to be Central Daylight Time since when I change it to Destination (Maynard, MA) it says 1:53 AM
...which means that this was just entered into their system within the last 15 minutes!

The best part is their shipping estimates on the FedEx site:
Anticipated ship date: Apr 28, 2010
Estimated delivery: Apr 29, 2010 by 3:00 PM

Could I REALLY have this on Thursday?! I hope I don't get disappointed. I wonder if that will change to the 29th as the anticipated ship date and 30th as delivery. I guess it depends if it's really been handed off to FexEx or not...but at least I have a tracking number.
 
Weird

Mine now says shipped but when I clicked the tracking number, it states that FedEx hasnt received the shipping information yet.
 
It's so magical that the iPad is already in your home, you just don't realize it yet, on Friday morning it will wake you up...

Can you guys post when you placed your order for the 3G iPad so we can tell if they are shipping out in any sort of order. Also quote your own reply so we know what you said and not have to chase down your reply. Thanks.
 
So has anyone actually been charged yet? I'm still seeing no activity on my account.... And, I'm still just "Prepared for Shipment."

I am increasingly skeptical that this is going to be in my hot little hands by Friday....

ETA: And mere seconds after I posted this, I got the "blow" sound effect from Mailplane on my MBP. Anticipated delivery date: April 29 by 3 PM.

It seems unlikely it could arrive on Thursday. Mine says the same thing as yours, but when I look lower at the history, the only entry was for fedex receiving the shipping info at a 2:24am EST. Since fedex doesn't have the boxes yet and only has the shipping order, it's hard to believe it could get there today.
 
arrrrggghhh...

I have been checking the whole night (good thing I'm working) still prepped for shipment.

FedEx so messed up is our area...

sorry to vent, just frustrated...

One other thought on arrival:

My FedEx shipping says "Standard Overnight" which is by 3:00pm. My bet is the expected arrival dates will switch to April 30 from April 29 and the iPads will arrive in our hands just a few hours before you can get one at a store. My business normally receives FedEx very early, I'll be sure and post when I get it.

For anyone who gets it today....Congrats, you're journey has ended but your travels begin!

Don't think they are...

I ordered mine within minutes of the preorder page going live and I still have "Prepared for Shipment".
