[Merged] iPad 3G Ship Rumors

They won't.

First off, I have seen peoples statuses show the 30th, and also - even If fedex got the packages in the middle of the night, there is no logistical way they could get them to places outside of the Middletown pa area, and eventhen they might not even make the full ground overnight area because it was so late in the night. They also wouldn't have a flight to put them on from Philadelphia, to go to Memphis, and then make it to places further away like TN or OK.

Sounds good all! I am still waiting for my status, I live in Western NY, so I'm not worried. I get overnight stuff fromthere all the time through apple. As well, they have all the way to the 6:30 PM cutoff to physically give Fedex the packages. But we should see updates around 5, as apple must give them the info for the packages prior to 5 pm for guarantee overnight. They may have worked out different info with fedex but that is their normal requirement.
 
I ordered March 24 and mine still says Prepared for Shipment also and my CC has not been charged yet...but I know it will be here tomorrow!

I have the 64GB Wifi now & I decided to give my son this one when I get the 3G. He asked me if he could pick it up today as he is going out of town tomorrow. I really don't want to give up this beautiful thing even for one day...but I will. I'm so happy for him to finally experience the amazing iPad!!! This will be hard for me as the iPad & I have been joined at the hip for the last month and...yes...I still LOVE this gadget!!

I can't wait to get my 3G iPad tomorrow!!!

Haha. Just remember, those are delivery estimates. And wait until Fedex receivesthe package, take a look at your status again, and see what the delivery date says ;)

I would love to believe, but it is just the reality of the fedex system. I would rather tell you guys the truth and what is most probable to happen, than seem like a flame bater and say OMG OMG THEY ARE COMING THURSDAY! when they aren't.

Ordered 3/31st the 64gb 3g version. Says set for delivery Thursday (Today) by 3 PM. I am cautiously optimistic about delivery today.

Note how it says ANTICIPATED ship date? That is what the system thinks the day it will receiverhe packaged (usually the day after the shipping initiation has started).

Apple hasn't given them the package yet, and it will not reach you until Friday.

Local delivery receiving cutoff times are Right around the corner, within the hour this morning as of right now... So delivery isn't happening today :(
 
Just got my tracking info, sweet!

Wifi shipped UPS for Saturday delivery, and many of us don't get UPS deliveries on Saturdays, but we could have gotten FedEx. 3G is a Friday release, and shipping FedEx. Oh the irony...

Ironic? I think not. I think Apple did this on purpose. There is no reason to change something that works. UPS didn't work. So, they changed carriers, and are delivering from local distribution points and not from CN.

I'm not sure why they picked Saturday for WiFi, perhaps to have a 'better' store experience? Sucked for the people who didn't get USP-Saturday, of course, as we've all seen here.
 
Nope... I got the same email. Mine is coming today (thursday)

While I did note the "anticipated" ship date, I got a confirmation email from APPLE that it "has shipped" at 3:33am. Fed-ex tracking shows it SHIPPING (not anticipated) on Apr 29, 2010 by 3pm...

So... putting my money on... its coming today.

Shipping notification Anticipated Delivery by April 30th by 3:00pm. 64G 3G ordered March 17.

no worries. Fed-ex, unlike UPS, is usually very accurate with the day of delivery. Obviously, I am hoping it does show today, even though I had arranged to be around all day tomorrow...
Look for my follow-up either requesting my dollar, or...

Apple's automation process has always coincided with when they send the *information* to their chosen shipper. It is not when that party receives the package to transport it. The email you got was generated when that happened. That doesn't mean it definitely won't get there today, but it sure doesn't guarantee that it will.
 
I ordered my iPad 3G 64GB on 4/17 at 7:24 PM PDT. Order Status is still "Not yet shipped" and my CC is still not showing any charges. I did cancel my previous pre-order to go from the 3G 32GB model to the 3G 64GB model, not sure if that put me on a separate list or not. :confused:

Like others, I had a pre-auth test charge for the full amount and it disappeared about 2 days later. My bank has been really good in the past about calling me to confirm/deny a charge, so I know that is not the problem. Last year, I bought a MacBook Pro for $1972 on Amazon.com, not a peep and got it the next day. (that part made me wonder, but I do order a lot of stuff from Amazon)

Just a little irritating that some have already gotten their shipping emails and FedEx tracking info, when mine still says "Not yet shipped". :( Probably call Apple in a bit to find out what's going on with the order.

Update: because I have a dollar riding on this...
Package was picked up in Middletown, PA at 5:48am... still showing delivery is today by 3pm

On a side not, mine just got its shipping info as well! Woot!
