[Merged] iPad 3G Ship Rumors

I hope preorders still ship by Late April. I am out of town the first week of May so that will kind of piss me off. Hopefully this will be cleared up by Apple in the morning.

However, if they are doing like they did for the wifi only model and giving themselves a bit of a cushion, then we should expect them delivered between April 26-30th if the order was placed before today. Keeping my fingers crossed for this!

No, i had preordered. My RAGEpost was when it was thought that that was the date for release. Afterwards was when it was decided it was just a cutoff date.

Also, i was basing my "two weeks" on the fact that it was thought that we'd get them by the 24th.

Gotcha. I can see how the initial comment about the delay could lead to a fervid response.
 
I'm confirming that my order still says it will ship in late April.

The May 7th date is most likely for new orders—so I'm almost convinced that we will still get our iPads by the end of the month.
 
I was just charged the full amount for my iPad!!!!

The charge appeared in the last few hours (yes I have been checking frantically, lol).
 
Can't substantiate anything about the 3G pre-order ship date, but I did get charged for my camera connection kit, which was also slated to ship in "Late April".

I'm psyched. I'm going to have a case, stand and camera kit...and no iPad. /sigh.

(Patience...not my strong suit.)

I don't have access to the online info on my AMEX, or else I'd have looked it up by now D=

Looks like you have Chase, right? I do too and no charge yet. Good to see they are starting though...hopefully its not just another pre-authorization like we have seen before.
 
So the 3G comes out in the US 3 days before the UK are allowed to start preordering the WiFi. Hopefully both will be out at the same time over here :(

I never had a pre-authorization charge for the full amount, just 12$ (priority shipping) right when i ordered it (on day 1 of pre orders), and then again the 12$ 2 or 3 days ago.

You may have had a pre authorization charge and not realized it, mine does not show up, but I know I had one...I had to call to authorize it, basically it's just a hold, you might not see it listed but it probably happened.

Well the fact that it was for the full amount just makes the possibility of them launching in a few days even more likely. Doubt they'd start the full amount pending charges more than a few days in advanced.
 
you know it really winds me up, what is the point in having 2 data subscriptions? 1 for iphone a 1 for the ipad?

My iphone is with me everywhere i go (hence it being a phone and all). Why can ti just buy the wifi version, pay etc for an official tethering ipad app and away i go.

Then i dont have to replace both devices when faster speeds come out, i can just keep updating my iphone.
 
I just pre-ordered my ipad 3g yesterday... And had a charge of 829 on my visa card. I'm happy though i was able to get in before the may 5th cut off..
 
This week will sure be interesting for us iPad 3G pre-orders. I pre-ordered my iPad 3G on April 4, along with the case and AppleCare. On my Apple account it states the AppleCare has been completed on April 17, so I expect it sometime this week. The iPad 3G and the case still say Ships: Late April. But on my credit card account it shows both the case and AppleCare have been deducted on April 17, but not the iPad 3G yet.
Like some have said, I believe if you pre-order the 3G today, you should get it 'by May 7'. All of us who ordered it much earlier, hopefully Apple will honor the 'late April' ship date. It seems the quoted 'large' number of iPad 3G pre-orders might of been an understatement.
 
Anyone know how long after they started charging for the iPad WiFi they shipped, and how long that shipping was?

I have heard several people say the 3G sales won't compare but I don't agree.
