Wow, no tax?

That does not sound realistic. Apple always charges tax. Photoshopped?

I don't get it. What's so special about Alaska, Delaware, Montana, New Hampshire, and Oregon? Why no tax? Or why is there tax in other states? Aren't we united states?

Sales tax is up to the states to decide, the rates vary from 0 to I think 8.25% in California.

you know it really winds me up, what is the point in having 2 data subscriptions? 1 for iphone a 1 for the ipad?

My iphone is with me everywhere i go (hence it being a phone and all). Why can ti just buy the wifi version, pay etc for an official tethering ipad app and away i go.

Then i dont have to replace both devices when faster speeds come out, i can just keep updating my iphone.

First off: Tethering? taxes the battery on the iPhone like bad. You basically have to keep it plugged in to work right. And since the iPad is a mobile device, i doubt this would be practical.

Second: AT&T wants our money. We're lucky this internet thing isnt contract

Thrid: You can do that. Just need to jailbreak. Not hard at all.

For me, I'll probably be getting rid of my iPhone. At least...the expensive as hell ATT service for it. Maybe I'll use TMobile (flash it) after my contract is up.

I have a feeling ill be using the internet on my phone less and less after i get my iPad.

States, Counties, and Cities get to set their Sales tax.

Here is what I deal with:
Minnesota State 6.875%
Hennepin County 0.15%
Minneapolis City 0.75%

I am also waiting like you guys....already received VGA adapter and iPAD case....but still no iPad... "Late April" it says

apple

the only reason i think apple even launched the ipad so early (they could have made a far better one with the stuff we actually wanted) was to get biggest market/customers with thier product before evry other company is still working on theirs

money money money

I don't care how unprepared Apple was for the demand of the iPad, but I am VERY unhappy with the fact that Europe is of lower priority.

They gave us a release date, pushed it in order to meet the US demands, and now Apple only promises iPads for the UK. The rest of Europe is on hold for now.

Furthermore, while it has nothing to do with this, the european Apple products are the most expensive in the world - it just adds that extra bitterness to it, yes?

They could've put a camera in it if they wanted to. that's not too hard. They didnt include it so it can be "OMG KILLER FEATURE" next time around.

dont care either way. dont see myself using skype while walking around anyway. if im gonna be doing a video call, i wanna be able to be sitting down and having the thing propped up infront of me. an dbe able to do other **** at once.

Anyone know how long after they started charging for the iPad WiFi they shipped, and how long that shipping was?

I have heard several people say the 3G sales won't compare but I don't agree.

I posted in another forum about how I thought that this would correlate with the conference call on Tuesday for the 2Q earnings. I don't think it's likely as I am not certain everyones lines up but:

my card was preauth.'ed on March25th (a Thursday) then my ipad Wifi shipped on March30th, sat in China till the 1st, and got here at 11 AM on the 3rd.

I am not saying Apple is again going with a Saturday release. I think if anything pepople may start seeing charges this week and they may start shipping before Friday (maybe, because for new orders they are saying ships by the 7th, that they are going to ship throughout the week, and with the model some people may receive theirs during this week and those shipping toeards the end may get there's sent for Saturday/Monday, and then apple may continue that or make a gap to continue production ramp ups).

But I do believe that the AppleCare completions are a sign that they are completing the iPads, or at LEAST completing the AppleCare orders in time to have the numbers ready to assign with units coming off the line. This is obviously a good sign, and if anything Apple still could hve started production already around the time they were completing those AppleCare orders (and or assigning those numbers to new units) or could possibly also have production ramping up starting yesterday or last week, and have enough iPads to ship on Tuesday and announce it at the earnings call.

Just a theory. But it would be awesome if mine shipped this week (which by my model it would, because earlier orders would ship first and I ordered about 24 hours after the start of preorders), and I'm on spring break so I could help people track it too. ;D

Has anyone really been far even as decided to use even go want to do look more like?

In all seriousness:

They've been producing these things for AT LEAST two months now. If not more. So i doubt they're "barely getting off the line"
If anything, they're just having enough to be able to ship a fairly large amount to preorderers and to shops all around the country.
