This device will sell, and sell a lot.

It's just disappointing that it's not capable of the full web experience, that's all.

Everyone but me and those who disagree that Flash is important wins. You're all winners!!

Goodnight!

You didn't answer the question. But your right, I'm wrong. The iPad sucks because it doesn't run Flash. Talk to you in 5 years, we'll see how Flash is doing then.

I'm done, can't argue with an idiot.

So you can buy your ipad now and wait five years for it to be useful for web browsing? AWESOME

You are a smart guy who thinks that flash is all the wave of the internet, and you also think that if 18% of the population says they WANT TO BUY something, that it is a negative thing.

You are just rabble-rousing and in way over your head. Why not go troll somewhere else.

So I'm trolling because I have a differing opinion from yours? Okay lol whatever you say boss

Jobs was up on stage telling everyone this product gives the "BEST" browsing experience. How is that possible if it doesn't support Flash? Almost every major site has Flash, and a majority uses it for its main content.

CNET
HULU
NY Times
Washington Post
CNN
ESPN

With the NyTimes app, you can watch video in-line and embedded with articles.
If sites use Flash to give a better user experience than just regular HTML, then as the NY Times has figured out, writing an iPad app gives a better user experience than using Flash.

If the market is there (i.e. if the iPad becomes popular), then any site that wants a piece of that market is going to work within the limitations of the device.

I would pay a website I go to on a regular basis money every year if they kept flash off the site.

HTML5 this HTML5 that.

Is there a program that allows designer (not programmers) to make animations and interactive websites easily like you can with Flash?

Sure people that are good with code and programming can figure it out, but how many of those are creative types?

Allot of people who are really good artists and/or designers use flash, cause their brains are not setup to do all the coding.

Give designers a easy program to let them create content with html5 and then you may see Flash go bye bye.

So the standards of the web should be decided by "creative types" who can't code a website? Sounds like a plan.

no FLASH!

Maybe down the road THERE WILL BE AN APP (plug-in) FOR THAT.

seriously, right.

flash is not going away no matter how much noise a small minority of computing-device-users make

I don't want Flash. I don't want something that will cause the device to slow down, crash, and ultimately make my web browsing experience awful.

I don't know why so many people say that Apple computers can't play flash properly.

I never had any trouble. There used to be the flash playback thing with the 27" iMacs, but hasn't this been solved?

Flash, whatever you think about it, is a given on the web.

Get it right. It's Adobe's issue coding software improperly, not Apple's.

No, it's Apple. Adobe worked to get a mobile version of Flash. They did so and all other mobile platforms are using it. Steve Jobs does not want Flash and refuses to have it on the iPhone and now the iPad. It's simply a pissing contest between Adobe and Apple. Probably over licensing fees. Apple customers are the losers in this battle.

You apparently have never noticed your fans turning on when viewing Flash.

That is funny. I feel like the winner.

I can't believe people have actually brainwashed themselves into thinking they don't need flash.

I'm not 'brainwashed'. I'd chosen to boycott flash many years ago. In fact I browse full-time with plugins DISABLED in my default browser. My other browser which has plugins enabled have Flash content blocked. Pages load immensely faster. I find Flash pointless as much as it is useless in conveying information to me. I can't copy the text to paste, can't resize or change the text in any way, can't match up many products side by side due to animations working in a sideshow effect.

I applaud Apple for their stance on Flash. I'm hoping others follow their example to have Flash banished from the www.

With more and more mobile units under apple's control hitting the market every day, more and more websites will make the rational choice to cater to the widest audience possible and abandon flash.

Exactly. Don't underestimate Apple's influence in this by getting massive amounts of these flash-less devices (i.e. mobile OS X based) into people's hands. The truly important websites may actually adapt to this new situation sooner than some people think. Well, that's the best-case scenario, at least...One can dream ;)

Some CEO daughter gets one for her birthday and asks her daddy why his website does not work on it.

BAM flash is dead, long live Jobs.
