I think the Red Sox have blown it as far as the Wild Card race is concerned, getting swept by the Astros and then losing the first game to Kansas City. They are 5.5 games back and the Blue Jays are at 1.5 games back ahead of them. It would take a pretty amazing run to make it.

Yeah I think they are out of gas. Just too many inconsistencies everywhere to make a real playoff push and even if they do make it to the post season, I don't see them getting through the first round.

A philosophy I live by :)

We gotta fire Kap or make him manger differently.

In all honesty, the Giants are regressing to the mean. They were playing extremely well for a while, probably got our hopes up too much. They are a collection of veteran spare parts and not-quite-ready-for-prime-time youth that should've had no business contending for the playoffs.

I was never a Kap fan, and I was definitely opposed to the Giants hiring him. He's largely won me over, though he is far from perfect. I wouldn't fire him just for change's sake, but if a better manager were available that could get more out of this team, then sure.

Alex Cora still talking as if the Red Sox have a chance… a “very important week coming up” indeed… he should wake up and smell the hummus.
Honestly, I think Cora is checked out. He's not going to say anything to disrupt or anger the players but he's also not going to sing any praises of the front office either. Very neutral responses from him going forward.

As for their playoff chances...that door is closing rather quickly.

Just as I was thinking “sweeping the Yankees three times in a year would be a nice consolation for not making the playoffs” the sox go and lose both games of a double header. But at least Casas was good again, he seems to be settling in nicely.

Right now, Casas is the only thing worth while to look forward to next year 🤦‍♂️

Never mention that to my brother in law if you value your existence - hell one of the first pics of my then several months old niece I was sent was her in a Yankee shirt and cap (baby size). Me I am pretty much neutral on this question.

Sadly, Yankee fan is indoctrinated at a young age.

But I think I want him out too...
I don't know why the giants hired him in the first place. I think his tenure in Philly wasn't really great and he made some really bizarre decisions - probably due to the fact he was a first time manager, but still.
