MMS Tutorial for iPhone 3.1 + AT&T

Works

Works for me in Boston, MA and Visual VM still works also. I didn't put in the mmsc settings at all. I just tried to send a few and they all went through. Received two also. I'm happy for the two week head start. :D
 
Works on my roommates 3GS with a family texting plan, wifi was on, did not have to reset network settings.
Does not work on my 3G with iPhone texting plan.

It wasn't working at first, then turned off my wifi, worked perfectly once, now i'm trying again a second time.......worked again, just took a little while. I'm in Austin, TX btw. Thanks OP!!!
 
alright i did all the downloads and commands in the tutorial but when i go to my device to update all i have is a "check for update" button. i shift click there and i get an error when i try to open the file.

working with a PC and using firefox..
any help?
 
MMS is working in SW Florida.. only on 3G not WiFi. :D

I fixed it for WiFi by removing http:// from the mmsc url, and adding the username and password to the fields. Now I can send/receive from wifi or 3g.
 
OK, i got a weird problem and need help.


I have 3.0 JB and loaded the updated carrier file from the OP.

I Rebooted and I can now successfully send MMS.

However, whenever someone sends me an MMS back, I completely lose my cell connection. It goes to "searching..." then reconnects to 3G and I never get the MMS.

I have reset my network settings and still the same problem. I went in and tried to update my MMS settings to include user name/password and still no go.
 
nothing mentioned here works for me to get MMS, and the link to that "official" 5.0 file still leaves the damn mms option! To top it all off now I have no Edge badge!

I'll be out of town that week, and if ATT upgrades my account before then, I would get access to MMS then.
 
Confirmed working. NJ with family plan unlimited messaging. Only worked when Wifi is switched off. SO weird.

It's working for me in America's Heartland!

I used the instructions and MMS is working for me in the Little Apple, Manhattan, KS. At first it was only working when I turned off wifi. Then I read on another forum to update information in the MMS section of the Cellular Data Network on settings. I put in:

APN: wap.cingular
username: wap@cingulargps.com
password: CINGULAR1 (case sensitive)

I left the other settings under MMS alone and now I can send and receive while having wifi turned on. It works just fine on EDGE. I can't wait to see how much faster it sends/receives the next time I'm in a 3G area like Topeka or Kansas City. Supposedly we're getting 3G in my town by the end of the year but I'm not getting my hopes up.
