Good review!

Like I said, this makes me excited for the 2nd gen Moto 360 more than anything.

My reaction too. Considering this is 1st gen of an entirely new tech device the overall grade is very good. Looking forward to the next gen of both hardware and AW software.

I can't find anything about the dust resistance of this device.

The Moto 360 comes with an IP67 rating for resistance against dust and water, which means that it can be submerged in up to 1 meter of water for as long as 30 minutes, without a negative impact on performance.

My bigger concern is the fact that I work in a factory that processes talc, barite, and calcium into powder. Water isn't something I'm going to be dealing with, aside from washing my hands, and maybe some mopping. But I hardly stick my hand in mop water.

I dont know much about those elements but it is a pretty tightly sealed device. The only openings are very small including the microphone on the side and the heart rate monitor on the bottom but that is pretty close to your skin.

Alright, time to start saving up then.

I can't find anything about the dust resistance of this device.

It has an IP67 dust/water rating.

The 6 means "Dust tight - No ingress of dust; complete protection against contact."

Note that this doesn't mean that dust still won't get into any outside crevices (like between the bezel and crystal edge) and need a little wiping off. It means it shouldn't get inside and cause any trouble.

That is good news. I really want one now, but I have this issue where I'm lacking in the cash dept and need to buy glasses instead.

I didn't know that. Do you think it would be good for swimming? I normally don't submerge my watch at all other than on my strokes. Would love to wear it in the pool.

I wouldn't risk it. While a gentle submergence into water is one thing, the added force of your arm pushing the water into the nooks and openings is another. Pressure + Water = ???

I seem to be having a large number of connectivity issues lately.
Example scenario:
I walk out of my office and leave my phone on the wireless charger. The watch of course disconnects as I leave a certain area and that's expected. But when I get back it doesn't automatically reconnect. I have to restart device or forget it on the phone and try to pair and it doesn't reconnect.

Seems to be happening anytime I step away from my phone at a certain distance and it's super annoying trying to reconnect.

Any thoughts?

I've been experiencing the same thing as of late and I've never had any issues before (I've had the watch and phone since November) and I have the same setup.

Sometimes I can't figure out why I'm having WiFi problems, but then I realize that my wife is using the microwave oven.

Do you live in an apartment? Is it possible that someone nearby has set up a new router or old cordless phone that's interfering?

No this is at work 99% of the time

Watch is now available for $149 on eBay and at Best Buy. The new one MUST be coming out soon. They're dropping the prices nearly every other week.

Leather is now $149.
SS is now $199.

Can't wait to see what AW does this week. At the moment :apple:Watch OS seems more advanced. Google won't let that happen for long.

Personally, I'd like two things in AW that the Apple Watch has:

1) A speaker so I can take calls on it from another room (and hear search results spoken back if I wish).

2) Widget views in a row. I can't believe that Android is king of widgets, but Google didn't implement them on Wear. Whereas Apple more or less does with their Glances.

Weather, texts, settings, etc... should all be available all the time, not just during fleeting Google Now cards, or by finding and launching an app via icon.

Or just keep the apps going and let me swipe through them like WebOS did.

Have you tried Wearable Widgets?

??? I can put anything I want on my watchface from weather, to schedule info, timezones, whatever. I then swipe from the left and my launcher comes up and allows me to tap on any of my contacts to call them, to view ALL of my notifications (separated by app), activate torch mode, and so on... It is called SWapp Launcher.
Once again, launchers kick the crap out of iOS and stock Android.

Yep, and I have a launcher, but I'd like a set of cards that are always running.

Thank you very much! I bought the unlocked version. Very close to what I mean.

(I really want Google to implement a way to swipe between running apps like WebOS, on both Wear and phones and tablets.)
