NO, I haven't this!!! Never had this!
Did you work with the full installer or an upgrade?

You need a GPU with EFI to update the Mac Pro firmware.I've made a full installation of HS 10.13.6 but he don't upgrade my Firmware! I'm still with 0084!!! Why???
No, you need a EFI supported GPU to update the firmware.Hi, please forgive my ignorance on the following matter. I changed my MacPro 5.1 mid 2010 machine Graphic card to Radeon Sapphire RX 580 Nitro+. I have FW 084 and 10.13.6 installed. Can I try to do the Firmware upgrade with my new RX 580 Nitro Graphic card installed even if it does not give me boot loader screen? Second question is that does any of you think Apple will make the boot loader visible with RX 580 card and other Mojave supported cards?
Third question is that if RX 580 Pulse card is supported, do you think RX 580 Nitro card is too or are they so different that Nitro card will not be supported.
Thank you for your answers.
You need a GPU with EFI to update the Mac Pro firmware.
Saw on your previous posts that you have a Nvidia 960GTX, so that will not work for flashing your Mac Pro firmware.
Reinstall the original one back (Apple GT120/HD4870 with a 2009 or HD5770/HD5870 if a 2010/2012). Start macOS and rerun the 10.13.6 full installer, don't try via USB. The full installer will ask for you to shutdown with this screen:

For the other questions, no one out of Apple know the answers.
At the moment, you need to put back your EFI GPU to update the firmware (Apple GT120/HD4870 with a 2009 or HD5770/HD5870 if a 2010/2012), even on a Apple suggested one like the Sapphire RX580 Pulse.
Please note that Apple only suggested the RX560/RX580 without telling anything about the level of support yet. Maybe Apple will change the Mac Pro firmware to provide boot screens / firmware upgrades / FileVault 2 with the suggested GPUs, but I don't bet anything on this radical change.
No it din't!
System installed, in the panel control i see 10.13.6 but in the system panel i see ROM 0084
Strange!
Now I'm trying to download installer again and re-made the usb key
Just download and run the 10.13.6 full installer. Do NOT make any USB key, that’s totally unnecessary and only cause more trouble.
You can do that even you are already with 10.13.6. It’s straight forward and simple. Don’t make it more complicated.
Useful if you have to update several Mac’s...

Update: I miss your last post. Just see that problem fixed.
Recent macOS has a microcode updater daemon (ucupdate) and it will automatically update the microcode on the running macOS, that's how 31 showed on my sysctl.Hi there!
I have updated to MP51_0089_B00.bin and when I check my microcode it says 30, not 31 as your did?
I think mine is dead :-(Using Apricorn Velocity Solo X2 and Duo X2 in my 5,1 with 10.13.6 with 3 SSDs without any issues at all. Planning to update to the latest firmware early next week with EFI GPU back in, but have not had issues updating the firmware in the past with any Apricorn PCIe cards being used with SSDs.
Thanks, now I have troubles installing 10.13.6 in my SSD! I don't kow why, but the ssd disk is not recognised.
It's mounted on an Apricorn PCI, it's possibile that is not supported?
Yes i did it...when the ssd is in a normal slot, it works, when i put the Apricorn, osx starts but after few minutes it freezes...so I suppose that the Apricorn is dead o quite dead...Now i'm trying to do a speed test and he tells me that WRITE = 0 and READ = 491,7If in doubt, install the SSD back on the native SATA port.

but...it's possible that could be something in the 10.13.6? And/or AFPS ? Because if i boot with a normal HHD and make the benchmark, the ssd go well and fast also in the apricorn.Yeah, sounds like the Apricorn card is faulty.
no, not true...it's 0 also in another boot discbut...it's possible that could be something in the 10.13.6? And/or AFPS ? Because if i boot with a normal HHD and make the benchmark, the ssd go well and fast also in the apricorn.
It seems that in 10.13.6 the ssd have not the write permissions but i don't know why

yes, me too, but with the full installation of 10.13.6 I had no chance to decide if use APFS or HFSAPFS is something that I highly recommend to avoid.

Likewise. It actually works very well in my experience.
