Out of curiosity, how did you resolve it?

I deleted my backup SSD drive partitions (EFI/APFS/Hidden Restore/Everything). I then took a new 10.13.5 installer, edited the 0087 firmware Name to 0085 so it wouldn't overwrite mine, formatted drive, installed clean. Now using the backup drive as primary until full tested for a couple of weeks.

The primary drive just sitting there as an escape route if this goes bad. Once all done, I'll clone this to the primary drive.

Then installed each app, and tested between each 5 installs. I have a few more, but I use them rarely so I'll do it later when needed. Backed everything up to a couple of different drives.

I have no issue with boot chime.

Thanks Lou, me either now... :)

I believe that is a Styx song being referenced, not any comment on your process.

updated to Mojave PB2 through system settings, sysctl machdep.cpu now shows microcode 0, bootrom 0087.B00 build 18A326h

Update 10.13.6 just dropped. Anyone tried regular update? Waiting for full installer on App Store to be updated and will download to see if it will trigger EFI update past 0087.

The full 10.13.6 installer contains MP51_0089_00B_LOCKED.fd. I don't have a computer here to test it, however.
Downloading it now.

What app are you using to download the full installer? The App Store is just giving me the small installer. Maybe I need to update first.

No need to update, I downloaded it on Sierra, btw.

You can use installinstallmacos.py to download the full installer directly from the SUcatalog:

Code:
sudo python installinstallmacos.py

Edit: how to run it.

Nice! Thanks tsialex.

Edit: In case you forgot, you didn't redact your SN in the most recent screenshot.

No need to update, I downloaded it on Sierra, btw. You need to edit the catalogURL to the Developer Seed.

https://github.com/munki/macadmin-scripts/blob/master/installinstallmacos.py

Code:
index-10.14seed-10.14-10.13-10.12-10.11-10.10-10.9-mountainlion-lion-snowleopard-leopard.merged-1.sucatalog

Thank you. What a neat little program. It works great! I didn't need to change the catalog.
[doublepost=1531203383][/doublepost]With MP51.0089.B00 firmware it says microcode version 30 for X5675. :)

I love how it creates the sparse image and the receipt, ready for Munky/Imagr/etc

You will need to change the SUcatalog sometime on the future, Apple will migrate everything to the 10.14seed SUcatalog, probably before 10.14 GM. Last weekend, 10.13seed was empty btw.

No need to change the catalogURL to get the 10.13.6 installer at this point. (or to get the Mojave installer, either.)

Huh, still no 10.13.6 full installer in the App Store.. funny, maybe they're still tweaking the microcode issue.

Yeah, with chrfr's comment, I was expecting the same. Still not in the App Store.
10.13-10.13-10.12…= 10.13 normal updates catalog.
10.13seed-10.13-10.12…= 10.13 Developer catalog.
10.13beta-10.13-10.12…= 10.13 Public Beta catalog

installinstallmacos.py points to 10.13seed.

What’s puzzle me is that Apple already removed the 10.13.5 InstallESDdmg.pkg from all catalogs. So, you can’t download the full 10.13.5 installer.

Edit: correct name, typos.
