Installed from cydia and it keeps telling me update is available, I have refreshed my sources and rebooted phone but still keeps saying update to 1.00
I'm using non AT&T 5s version

Yup, this is what I've talked about at the bottom of https://forums.macrumors.com/posts/18600230/

As I didn't have the time to finalize my advanced, automatic multi-app Cydia packager & uploaders today, I'll manually fix these packages now. Will post them very shortly.

OK, posted them. They won't display the update badge any more and are updated (they list Verizon and they can't be installed on devices with firmware versions prior to 7.0).

Now, I'm off to make my old iPhone 3GS video camera enhancer iOS5/6-compliant.

No 3Gs joy, it seems.

On 6.1.3, as opposed to iOS 4 and 5 versions, you in no way can exceed 640*480 save size in /System/Library/Frameworks/MediaToolbox.framework/N88/AVCaptureSession.plist, under, as usual under pre-iOS7, AVCaptureSessionPresetHigh Capture > Height / Width.

On 5.1.1, the files "CameraRollValidator.plist" and "MediaValidator.plist" (see my previous, pre-iOS5.1.1, post-5.0, working source code HERE) are no longer in /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/Celestial.framework/N88/ but in the same directory as AVCaptureSession.plist, that is, /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/MediaToolbox.framework/N88.

Unfortunately, while the camera itself doesn't freeze when you enter higher-than-VGA values in the two Height / Width pairs of AVCaptureSession's AVCaptureSessionPresetHigh, no matter what you enter in "CameraRollValidator.plist" and "MediaValidator.plist", those recordings won't be stored as valid files in the camera roll.

All in all, I couldn't make my old high-res 3GS hack under either 6.1.3 or 5.1.1.

I've finished testing my two brand new wide-FoV tweaks for the

- iPad 4
- iPhone 4 (recording at 1120*840 in my tweaked mode)

running under iOS7. Both work OK and are in my Cydia repo now.

Screenshot of the latter:

cydia-iphone4camenh.jpg

NOTE: the other iPhone4 tweak above the annotated iOS7 one is iOS4 only. Do NOT install it on an iPhone4 running a newer iOS.

And the sources of the iPhone 4 version are HERE. Given that the iPhone 4 records at 720p (and not at 1080p), has a different video bitrate and has an 5 Mpixel sensor (and not a 8 Mpixel one), there are a lot of changes in the source - while, with the earlier (1080p/8 Mpixel/ 17 Mbps) releases, I only needed to change one definition (that of SystemPlistContentWrapper.fullSystemPlistPath).

Don't forget the iPhone 4 only records at around 15 fps in the full-sensor mode.

Hope you'll find these tweaks useful.

Does this enable true 720p when doing slow motion on iPhone 5s?

Nope. It seems the hardware is simply incapable of using the sensor in non-binned mode. Or, Apple was just too lazy - as they were with the 60 fps modes for the iPhone 5 / 5c / Mini. (The 5 would be able to record at 1280*360 effective resolution instead of the current 640*360, assuming it has very similar camera hardware to the 4S.)

iPad 3-specific tweak released: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u...pad3videocameraenhancer7_1.0_iphoneos-arm.deb

My Cydia repo is out of order ATM; hence the DEB file link.

I've continued cleaning up the sources. Basically, by completely eliminating the "Advanced" tab and also allowing for some scaling distortion during recording preview (which has absolutely no effect on the recorded footage), I've managed to remove for example the Preview parameters. This made the sources even cleaner.

They're at https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u... ipad4 cam/iPhoneWideFoVCamcorderEnhancer.zip

Hey, I can't add the repo in Cydia keep getting time-out error. I have an iphone4. any suggestions?

cheers

EDIT: Just seen your post above. downloaded the zip file, no idea how to find the right files to add to iphone. How long will the repo down for?

Is there any chance you feel like tinkering with files from SnappyCam? I'm interested in finding (if its even possible) an optimal mode (16:9 and/or 4:3) to take 24 to 25fps pictures on the iPhone 5. Since SnappyCam is currently capable of capturing 1920x1080 (2.1Mpx) at 30fps, and full 8Mpx at 20fps on the iPhone 5, I'm thinking it should be theoretically possible to maybe achieve 24fps somewhere in the 3 to 4Mpx range..? Could be fun, no? :D

I'm not able to try it at the moment, but is this compatible with 7.1 betas? (I'm on a iPhone 5 w/ AT&T)
Also thanks a ton for all the hard work and putting up a repo. You're the man! You seem to be the tweak workhorse around here lol.

With 7.1b2, surely. I'll soon upgrade to 7.1b3 and report back.

I've scrutinized all the config and similar files of the app. Surely not tweakable, sorry.

com.snappylabs.SnappyCam.plist : it just mirrors the user-settable preference parameters

snappycam.sqlite: lists all the taken shots, their timestamp, which of them has been selected for saving etc. No pre-shooting parameters here, either.

Hope Apple indeed incorporates this tech into their future models. Then, it MIGHT become hackable / configurable via the standard system plists (as I do now WRT video).

Now it's up and the iPhone 4 version is available there.

I tried this tweak about two days ago and didn't notice a difference. Maybe I set it up wrong. I choose the wide setting and full. Also does this tweak decrease quality? Sorry I read other post on here and not fully understanding what bitrate decrease means or anything.

Sweet!! :) I can't wait to try this out later. Excited to here you'll be beta 3 testing it. I'm thinking of moving up myself.

1. On the 5s?

a. Make sure you do kill the Camera app before trying to see the new parameters.

b. You can eaisly find out whether Camera records video in the tweaked 4:3 mode. When you play back a recorded video, just double-tap it to zoom out. If pillars appear to the left/right, then, it's a 4:3 video, using my tweak. If it doesn't zoom out but remain 16:9, it's stock video.

2. with iOS7, bitrate setting may not be working, only the wide vs. normal mode. I'm working on a unified version right now with fixes to the bitrate setting too; with that, it'll be much easier for me to release generic bufixes.

Much better low-light performance & wider field-of-view for iPhone 4/4S/5/5s,...

I installed the AT&T version from your repo for the iPhone 5 but I don't think it's working? The stock camera app hasn't changed at all?

**UPDATE**

Never mind, it's a stand alone app that let's you choose the settings. Got it!

Is this still only for non-USA phones?

(I thought I saw this caveat somewhere.)

Nope, all models are supported now, at least WRT the iPhone 5 and 5s. (Of the iPhone 4 and 4S, I only know of one directory configuration. It's possible they too have two.)

BTW, I'm working on a Universal version now, which selects the current model by itself. If you can wait, say, a day, it'll make your life far easier - no need to select the right version from my Cydia repo.

you get a wider view when recording. do a normal view recording and then do a wider view recording of the exact same thing. compare them. you'll see that the wider view can capture more than the normal view one

it's also takes in more light before it's using the whole sensor (you'll see the wider view is brighter when it's darker)

just make sure you select the option in the app that's installed on your springboard

it doesn't seem to decrease quality but the output file is 1664x1248 (I assume for aspect ratio sake)

I tried to download the tweak from your repo which i already had added and it put me in a bootloop. I know you said your repo was having issues. Not sure it would do that though.

Strange - the tweak itself shouldn't result in any kind of a runtime bootloop as it doesn't hook into anything (Cydia Substrate, for example) - it's just an "offline" app manually invoked when tapping the icon, and immediately exiting when you exit it (I've explicitly added Application does not run in background = YES to its main Info.plist to always force a full app reload.)

Let me know if you can't boot in and, then, I'll help you finding out what the problem is.

Wasn't able to reboot had to restore and jailbreak again. I'll wait until you say your repo is working again

Strange it would do that. Here, a Cydia repo not responding to HTTP requests would only result in the Cydia client's elongated, but definitely cancelable Package.gz fetching during refreshing. Strange the Cydia packages would be refreshed during booting up - I've never seen anything like that (and it'd be pretty pointless - why would Cydia fetch the packages, anyway, other than updating the badge of updated apps?).

All in all, it's highly unlikely the Cydia timeout caused the boot issue - unless the Evasion 7 JB has a bug.

(BTW, my repo is working again.)
