Are you kidding me? I can't just favorite a song I own without getting this stupid pop up every time? I DON'T WANT TO SYNC MY LIBRARY, Apple, COME ON.

Can anyone help?
Since Sonoma 14.1 I Music app on my Mac no longer registers tracks played on my my iPhone. Libraries on both Mac and iPhone are synching ok (ie when I add or delete a track on my Mac it shows on my iPhone) but tracks played on my phone no longer show up on Plays on the Mac. Somehow a setting must have got screwed, but I can't find it...any advice? Cheers.

I’m having the same issue, it was working before

I’m on Sonoma 14.0 so I think it could have broke then

You are trying to use an Apple Music only feature. Just use the star rating like before.
It's not an Apple Music only feature is it? I'm not allowed to favorite my own songs? I was excited because I was going to be able to sort my music by my favorites and now you say it's only for Apple Music? Also, the star rating is legacy at this point and there's no telling when they'll remove it completely.

I'm having trouble combining files of individual songs into album. This is happening with a set of files I downloaded from a recording that open in Apple Music as individual songs. It looks like the text I enter into empty fields with Get Info is not applying when I hit OK, for one thing.

Also, sometimes when I open the Music app, many of the album cover thumbnails are just a dark blue color or some other pattern. Then I close it and reopen it and the album covers apply.

I have a 2019 Mac Pro. Edited: these experiences started after I updated to Sonoma.

I am experiencing the same problem after upgrading to Sonoma (clean install). The same issue has been reported on Reddit:
Interestingly I have no issue combining files in the Songs view. Maybe it has something to do with the Album/Recently Added view?

Talking about problem in the Album/Recently Added view, I am also having a hard time displaying the star ratings there. Meanwhile they show up in the Songs view just fine. Someone reported the exact same issue on the Apple forums earlier today: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/255243805

today I received a used mint conditioned Mac Mini M1 that was supposed to be equipped with BigSur.
to my dissonant meant and overplaning,
the very beautiful computer has a fresh install of Sonoma 14.1.
so
I need to like this more and will get every ounce of help and guidance here.
until Salton_Sea 15 is released next year.

thanks you!

Oops, I think I've been spending too much time in the iPhone threads... I don't have this option on my iPhone. That's what I was talking about.

I'm signed into Apple Music, I have that option on iOS in Settings App - Music - show Star ratings
