Well considering it is a well known fact that the PS3 can't handle MP4's over 4GB I am not surprised that several HB testers reported 64Bit files not working on the PS3:rolleyes:

Does Plex open it? If so, then you've stumbled upon the same problem that many of us have had. When I updated to iTunes 8.2.1, the problem went away for me.

I'll have to double check this afternoon and get back to you on that. BTW, is that for a 64bit file?

Edit: Just checked whether Plex would open that file - It would not. I'm sure the file was just too large.

Several HB testers have confirmed the PS3 does not play nice with 64 bit mp4 files.

This is not surprising. I've got about 8 hours left on my recode before I'll find out first hand.

No I don't, only the dev. does at the moment from what I can tell (and I doubt it will be soon lol).

Will this software allow you to rip the TrueHD and DTS-HD MA to lossless flac 24bit and maintain the audio bit for bit?

MakeMKV 1.4.6 update is available. Per the website, the changes are:

* Fixed error causing MKV files to be too short for some DVDs
* Fixed error leading to duplicate and out-of-order audio frames in some MKVs
* Many corrections in MKV multiplexer (forced subtitles, default tracks, simple blocks)
* MakeMKV now produces more detailed debug log
* Aspect ratio and frame rate information is now displayed for video streams
* Blu-ray discs now open significantly faster
* Improved conversion speed on OSX and Linux

In Snow Leopard's Display Preferences, when I hook my Mac up to a LCD HDTV, there are 24 Hz, 30 Hz, and 60 Hz options. Would setting it to 24 Hz benefit playback of MKV movies?

Testing Snow Leopard Now...

I've installed 10.6 on my MacBook, and am testing MakeMKV as we speak. I'll know in about an hour how it did...so far - everything is looking pretty good. Edit: Everything worked great...

Disney DVD start missing

I've been using MakeMKV to back up my Bluray movies with no problems but i've come across a problem with my daughters Disney movies. The MKV file seems to have the first minute or so missing. Any ideas why?

MakeMKV to HB not detecting auto-crop (Gladiator BD)

I was playing around with MakeMKV and noticed that Handbrake couldn't detect the autocrop for the Gladiator BD.

Interestingly, a tsMuxer m2ts file from the same source correctly detects autocrop.

Has anyone noticed this with other mkv's?

What is autocrop? HandBrake simply crops the picture based on what has picture in it vs what is black.

Cheers Ed.

Code:
--crop <T:B:L:R> Set cropping values (default: autocrop)
Autocrop is the default setting HandBrake uses for cropping … and it does pretty much exactly what you wrote.

However, HB is not detecting the crop values for the makeMKV mkv file, but is detecting it for a tsMuxeR m2ts file.

Flick through all the previews for the movie - you'll most likely find one or more with something other than black above or below the picture. You'll have to use the GUI and manually crop the height.

Cheers Ed

Subtitles?

Just discovered that Handbrake doesn't support subtitles within MKV sources. How do you guys handle subtitles when you use MakeMKV?

Frankly, we don't. PGS subs are useless for HB, Plex, etc etc.

I end up using Windows for anything that requires subs.
