That is the *exact* same error that I get. I've done the same steps for 3 hours and tried little variations and get the same error : NSURLErrorDomain:-1015

Wildly frustrating thinking I may have wasted 10 bucks :(

Yeah, not sure if it's a bug with the app itself or if I set it up wrong.. the thread creator said it's just that the app is still buggy..

Others have said they are posting via the tethering, but when I try to even open a thread on MacRumors, I get that "NSURLErrorDomain" message.. I can get to the main page fine, but can't open any threads up..

well...i got it working on a vista laptop.

it was PITA, but with proxifier it is working..

i have a first gen iphone...i was getting around 15-20 kbps..which was not bad at all.

it kind of sucks because i have to re-setup the network settings...but its just a few clicks.

also proxifier isn't free....so i hope there is another way.

alright FINALLY got it to work. i deleted everything cept for the "air port" in the side pane. Once i get it set up on my phone, i turn off wifi, make sure it says 3g, go to a website let it half load, go back to my wifi tab, turn it back on, open netshare= works perfectly.

i wont abuse it, or use it really ever, but i do intend on useing it when in need. i hope ATT does not mind.

I'm trying to create a password for my network and no matter what i enter in the fields the 'OK/Continue" button is always greyed out and and can't be selected? Why?

Sorry to be off topic but...

NOT SO !!!

Here's the trick. But it's not really a trick at all.

I'm in Canada. I buy a US itunes gift card in the US or eBay. (hehe!)

Redeem the gift card. (use different email address, from canadian store, since it's the login for itunes).

Then change user name to usname@domain.com while in iTunes and it transfers me from the Canadian Store to the US store. Sync iphone. It now thinks it's a US iphone. Go to appstore on iphone. BUY whatever I like. Then proceed to change cdnname@domain.com back to Canadian Store.. etc etc.

Works for AppleTV too... since it's an iTunes too.

Any questions just ask.

I've got an odd problem and it's been around for a while even after several updates in Tiger and I bought Leopard installed it w/no change and even had to do and archive and install and for some reason in Front Row it thinks I'm in Germany I believe! Weird! I wish there was an easy fix since it should be! LOL But all seems fine in my iTunes account, yeah double weird! :(
Anybody has an idea how to correct this little inconvenience?
Thanx! :D

Netshare Vista

Can somebody please post how to set up Netshare with the worst OS of them all? Yes Vista...it would be greatly appreciated.

I don't know what's going on but here's how I got it from the Canadian store about 1 hour ago.

I saw it in the store, clicked on the icon and it said it wasn't available. Then I clicked on the little "BUY APP" button beside it and bingo, it worked!

It's crawls along on a 2G phone though... but it's better than nothing. 3G users should get some decent speeds out of it.

problem with firefox

awesome app!! i knew it was jut a matter of time and thank nullriver for putting this out.

safari works. i'm going to assume aim and others work. however, i'm having problems with firefox. i believe i have the proxy settings right, but whenever i try to pull up a page, the "save" dialog comes up, and its trying to save a file of type untyped binary data. not exactly what i'm looking for. anyone else have this problem?

typing on safari. lovely :)

Im posting from my MBA....took me a few trys but i got it. kinda handy for when my Verizon card doesnt have access!

ditto! It took a solid 2 min to set it up... just following the directions in to unconfuse his thread... took me more time to figure out how to my MBA and get it back on my network :)

Does anybody know how to set it up so that I don't have to manually create the netwrk everytime? can i save it somehow?

not that i'm going to use this much... don't feel like going over my 5gb cap and just about everywhere I go I have wireless... oh... might come in handy at those damn cafe's in boston that try to charge you 5 bucks an hour or 10 bucks a day to use wifi...

post from my ****** laptop PC.

edge is surprisingly not as slow as I expected. :)

Anyway, this is gonna get tons of use when im in 3G areas and on road trips.

How To For Windows Vista

I've been having some problems replicating my own setup, but here's the gist of it...

HOW TO USE NETSHARE ON YOUR IPHONE WITH WINDOWS VISTA

Install Proxifier from Proxifier.com

Create an Ad-Hoc Network:
Right Click your wireless connection next to your clock in the taskbar
Select Connect to a network
Select Setup a connection or network >> Setup an ad-hoc network
Create your ad-hoc network (Mine’s named iPhone Tether , no passwords, very simple)

On your iPhone:
FORGET ALL NETWORKS YOU ARE CURRENTLY CONNECTING TO
Select iPhone Tether (You’re ad-hoc network)
Select iPhone Tether’s little arrow
It will say DHCP
Look at your IP Address, Mine says 169.254.72.87

Open Proxifier
In Proxy Settings --> Add --> Address: 169.254.72.87 Port 1080 (SOCKS 5)
Hit OK, OK. Leave Proxifier in backround on desktop.

Open your Network and Sharing Center
On the left it says Manage Network Connections
Right click Wireless Network Connection, hit Properties
Left click Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) and click Properties
Select Use the following IP address
Type 169.254.72.86 for your IP address and 255.255.255.0 as your subnet mask
***Hit Advanced
Hit Add… and fill in the same IP and subnet masks
Hit Okay and close everything except for Proxifier on your computer.

On your iPhone
Open NetShare
You’re Proxy IP will say 169.254.72.87, Proxy Port 1080
CONNECTIONS MAY SAY 0 with 0 In/Out
Don’t worry.

OPEN YOUR BROWSER ON YOUR COMPUTER

It should work!
You’ll start to see your In/Out fluxuate, and your internet will load!
Woo!

Enjoy

Hugs and Kisses,
Bourne Perfection

WARNING: You’ll probably have to go BACK INTO the Internet Protocol 4 TCP/IPv4 Properties and reset everything to ‘automatic’ when you want to switch back to WiFi

EDIT: NEVER MIND. I figured out my own stupid mistakes in replicating it... I forgot to re-open Proxifier! You may have to "Check" the thing in Proxifier before it will work, I'm still not yet sure.

EDIT 2: Your connections # will fluxuate as well. Like 1 connection for iTunes, one for Mozilla, a bunch for AOL. All of my browsers seem to be working by default.

EDIT 3: You MAY be able to keep your TCP/IPv4 settings on Automatic if you set the ALTERNATE CONFIGURATION settings with your IP and Subnet Mask addresses. (Leave all the other fields BLANK in the alternate config settings.) THIS CAN ELIMINATE THE NEED TO CHANGE YOUR SETTINGS EACH TIME!

On EDGE on Windows Vista Home Premium:

finally works

Okay it is working for me now. Have to make sure 3g wifi is loading a page to activate 3g else it'll switch to any wireless connection and nix the tethering.

I don't think i'll use tethering b/c i'm surrounded by wireless but if i'm out in bum**** and need my laptop it may come in handy :)

The app is gone again in the US store, but I got my copy and posting using it now.

Here's a speed test:

finally no more blah raw data error

By the way half the time i get the error i was complaining about a couple of posts ago, but i refresh and it will usually work. Sketchy but could be useful in a pinch.

edit: running latest leopard

Netshare

Hi guys!

I read the entire thread and followed every possible suggestion but still no luck. iPhone 3G is not communicating with MacBook Pro running OS 10.4.11. I have spend 2 hours and kind of worn down. The problem seems that my iPhone is not switching to Wifi when I select the iPhone tether network. Well most of the times it isn't. Quite often when I leave the Wifi settings panel Wifi will just turn off and the few times it stayed on all I get is zero connections and 0 data transfer and Safari on the Mac cannot open any page. Am I the only one not getting this to work with Tiger?

The app is still in the US stores, if you search Netshare it will find it. Instead of clicking on the icon, click on the "buy now" button.
