Hey everyone!!! it been awhile since I created a thread. Well MacWorld 2009 is almost here and there is a lot of big things in store. There will be all new iMacs- 20", 24", and even a 28". I do think the 20" and the 24" will ship immediately but the 28" will ship in February. The Mac Mini will also be updated with a possibly new design using the nvidia graphics. This is what I think will happen at MacWorld 2009 also Snow Leopard will be talked about. Let me know what you think, leave it here talk to you all soon, bye.

amazing that not a single one of these things happened

If this was something like a sealed water cooling technique, wouldn't that make it do-able for an iMac since it would be quieter than the higher capacity fans required

Be careful what you wish for :) Just google for "PowerMac G5", "Liquid Cooled" and "Leaks" :) They're all starting to leak around now.

Also, liquid cooling on its own doesn't actually improve cooling a whole lot. Liquid is just a more efficient way of transferring heat (as opposed to air). All that heat still has to get cooled somehow so you'll still need some kind of fan. The main benefit is that you can do the cooling somewhere else than where the heat is generated (in a radiator), which can more easily be made quiet. Also you can remove heat quicker but that only matters in extreme situations (overclocking, or dual-core G5 processors ;) ).

I don't think the drawbacks (chances of leaks, fragility) outweigh the benefits. I really hope Apple never hops on that train again and I don't think there is any need anyway. Current CPU's are easily cooled. There was just no other way with that PowerMac otherwise they wouldn't have done it.

PS: I also had my credit card in hand waiting for a new mini, my old one is really showing its age now :( Soon please, Apple!

It could be a good thing the iMac isn't updated.
Maybe there will be a focus on new software which doesn't require a lot of fancy hardware upgrades, Apple's new OS Snow Leopard for instance is supposed to run a lot faster on current hardware, so there isn't any need (yet) for hardware upgrades?
Yep, I am naive, but wouldn't it be great?

I'm shocked they didn't talk about OSX at the LEAST.

This was like... some kind of elongated borefest of scraps.

Wow!!! I am saying the same thing. I am surprised that they did not even announce anything on the Mac Mini really shocking. Possibility now that the Mac Mini is not alive anymore and the iMac there could be a redesign in the making that's why they did not say anything about it. Or they did not finish working on the iMac that could be why too. Please do not blame it on me even the rumors site said it too. Maybe apple saw the rumors and said lets change the plan and release the iMac and Mac Mini when there is a little less hype. There will most likely be a special event both on the iMac and Mac Mini in 2 Months in February just a guess. Apple focused more on the software then anything. I thought it would be more on computers itself. All this waiting for nothing well hey it will be here soon. Sorry people for everything I really thought there was going to be at least a Mac Mini update.

There could be also waiting to ship the new iMacs with Snow Leopard installed. Why would they have to update it now where Snow Leopard is soon going to be release. They could release snow leopard and the new powerful iMac together. I still think that the iMac will be getting a special event with the mac mini itself. Common sense though if you think of it the iLife suite gets updated every year mostly im surprised there was no rumor on the iLife suite. There was a rumor on the iLife suite awhile back ago before the new Macbooks were released. It surprising that the notebooks are taking control of the iMac desktop. They should of updated the iMac first with the nvidia and then the macbooks last. Think of it this way desktops should always come first no matter what.

Completely unlikely. Last time Apple had a major updates done to their iMacs as a month or so before Leopard's release. Additional copies of Snow Leopard sold in addition to new iMacs = more money for Apple

Think of this

Think of this wait until January 27th the iMac could be updated with the iLife 09 suite. You do not need a special event to show the nvidia graphics again since they have been already shown with the macbooks. It gives you a few more weeks to save up some more money.

I have a prediction... All mac hardware will get updated eventually. Now you do not have to post your predictions anymore.. please!! :D :D  :p

I have a prediction: NyMetsFan08 will make more lame predictions in the future, based on reading what other people say, all of which will be as wrong as the ones in this thread were.

My predictions weren't wrong the rumors sites were. I took what I heard fro the rumors sites and added it in too one piece. I can still post my suggestion and what I think it a forum where everyone can. It not like the rumor sites did not say anything about the iMac and the Mac Mini because they did.

The predictions themselves wasn't what pissed me off, most of what is posted here is simply regurgatation and speculation, but you posted it as

a) Fact, as if you "knew" this was going to happen.
b) Backed it up with terrible baseless reasons in a format that suggested you had some sort of inside scoop or look in.
c) In a franky retarded manner, generally if you come across as an idiot by the way you type, cause a stir with what you say, then get proven wrong, people are bound to jump on you.

I was here the last time you made predictions when we were expecting (hoping) for an update before the new year, and seeing another moronic post from you just made my blood boil.

Either link to who you're "acquiring" your rumours from, make it very clear they both aren't your own and that they have no real base, and put them across in a way that ensures people know you're just blowing steam, or keep "your" opinions to yourself.

a) *Pshh...* I do that all the time!
b) Fortunately, I have real reasons behind my predictions based on clock speeds, release dates, and past upgrades. :p I wrote a huge thing on Blu-ray in Macs a short while back explaining when we'll actually see Blu-ray in Macs. I'll repost it if someone wishes.

I think the way you put yourself across gives you a lot of leway in other people's minds ;) There's a very fine line between informed speculation and idiotic desperation unfortunately!

I am sorry to you too tallest skill and everyone. I predicted what other rumor sites predicted which turned out a negative. Did you read my other thread tallest skill tell me what you think in there.
