Yeah I ordered mine last night, and it has shipped today. Its due to arrive tmorrow so once ive finished at work, ill go home to test it out. I've got a g5 imac that i still need to sell lol!
that needs to go on ebay asap, cos its in mint condition and i dont be needing to of the buggers!

Just back from Apple Store Regent St.
They have the 2.4 and 2.8 in stock ... but not the 2.8 Extreme (and no news of when they will be in). But going from a conversation I overheard, some of the staff don't know much :
One customer was told that the 'Extreme' version meant that that machine included Airport Extreme - the Core 2 Duo only has Airport ...
I've ordered a 2.8 Extreme but am going to cancel and buy 2.8 Core 2 Duo and use the saving to buy 2Gb RAM.

the 2.8Ghz model is CTO. doesn't that mean a build to order machine is only available special order?
i was told by my local apple store that the 24" 2.8 option was online only
they had all the other stock options in though
eventually just went and ordered it from the HE store on campus.

Yes it only works on campus and sometimes they do follow up to check you are a student.
Depends on the configuration (starts from £702) and you can access it off campus if you can VPN into the network.
Had a quick play on the new iMac at Trafford Centre tonight, was very impressed with it.
Will hopefully be ordering the 2.8 24" one tomorrow. They told me they had sold out of all 24" ones, didn't bother asking about 2.8 as i'm web ordering anyways.
Meadowhall have them in too, apparently getting a lorry load tomorrow (thursday)

I ordered mine through nhsdiscounts.com which got me £150 off my total price. Not bad! NHS workers take note

Yes, it originally said around the 15th but I got the shipped email early in the morning after I ordered.
Tracking now says it's out for delivery. Luckily, I'm off today waiting on someone to come and install a gas hob anyway, so I'm anxiously looking out the window for the van.

Let us know when it arrives. The delivery time on mine is getting longer every time I check!
that is quick, especially for a new product. My iMac took about 10 days for delivery and that was a good 2 months after they were released.
Mine is scheduled for delivery for tomorrow. Although it has already reached England according to tracking details.

BTW, You can access HE discount off campus - you just need to know how. It used to be easier, but because people abused it, they changed it around a bit. However, it can still be done.
