Both Manchester stores have all the new ones on display, although no 2.8 Extremes as they're web-only CTOs.

I'll be sure to post from the Arndale store soonish. :D

Mrsgeek, how much difference do you get with NHS discounts?

Yogamonkey mentioned earlier in the thread that he'd got £150 off the total price by going through NHSdiscounts. Not sure if that's what everyone working for the NHS gets (or with relatives wot do) or whether Yogamonkey is a bit special ;)

On display at Regent Street

They have about 25 on display at Regent St, I was just there this morning. Clearly they are a lot better value but the styling hasn't grabbed me yet, think I prefer the old one at the moment. The display is REALLY glossy. Given that I suspect a lot of people will use the 24" as their TV and DVD player and computer, it could be a pain. I also wish you could use it as a monitor, as I mentioned earlier.

When someone gets theirs can they tell me what the exposé button does and if they change access the other features of exposé by using modifier keys or changing a preference somewhere. Also perhaps show what is show in this system preference.

Got my new iMac yesterday from the birmingham store. base model.

I am loving it, its loads better than the core duo 1.83 imac i had, and they look so good in real life. the pictures on the internet let them down!

the keyboard is so easy to use, and again they look so much better in real life.

so, i give the new imac 10/10!

Video encoding problems

@xUKHCx

Yes, the video is a problem. I have to try it differently tonight. If I figure out what the problem is (never had a problem before), I'll start a forum for it because it may be an iPhoto issue. Will see.

Be careful with the RAM cover!

I picked up a 24" 2.4Ghz model from the Trafford Centre around 2.30pm yesterday - they were selling fast.

A word of warning - be really, really careful with the RAM slots cover - I managed to cross the threads and damage the screw - ended up drilling it out - was gutted, but thankfully very little damage and it's hidden on the bottom of the machine!

Very impressed with the looks and speed, and the new keyboard design is good.

20-21st august for me, getting the 24inch 2.4ghz with 2MB of RAM.

Tom did you read the early part of this thread about RAM?? You can buy 4gb online for just a little more than the cost of 2GB from Apple. You will also have the 1gb chip that comes installed to sell on...

As this is about imac UK can anyone tell me if the UK imac ships with a UK keyboard. Ive cheked the UK apple website and all the pictures show a US kayboard. Could anyone check their keyboard?

i.e. the @ sign should be on the ' key and the " sign should be on the 2 key.
As well as a £ sign should be on the 3 key.

I was in the london store a few hours ago and they had the US keyboard, i dident manage to catch a sales rep as it was pretty busy.

wow thats news to me, what a b***h. Ok ok i can live with that but i cant live without my beloved sterling sign. Any way to type the £ sign using the keyboard?

On an extremely glossy 20" at the Arndale and loving it. These things are so stupidly thin and the keyboard is just a dream to type on. If anyone's in Manchester at the moment, I'd suggest you get down here; there's four 20 inchers and four 24 inchers.

Aluminium iMacs ftw!

Yup, it's always been that way. The missing symbol is #, which you have to get by pressing alt-3.

yup that's what i've always done. I see what's being said though.. on the apple store it displays a US keyboard with no £ symbol. I'm pretty sure we'll get a UK one with the previous layout though... we'll see (soon sooner than others:eek:)!

I'll let you know when I get home - my new iMac has arrived!!! :)

Good news everyone!

My 4Gb RAM has arrived and in a couple of weeks I should have an iMac to put it in to....

Anyone looking to sell their 1GB RAM stick from their new iMac please give me a shout!! I am looking to buy :) UK only though please!
