Really, though, the stickers are cool and all but not something I’d really miss in the end. Now, I would like Apple to give us back our standard headphones included in the box.

Honestly, I have a .mac box filled with stickers. My sister who works for a school district recently gave me a bunch as well. Ive only ever used a couple so I'm ok with this.

How far back did the tradition of including stickers go? I'm almost certain it predates the return of Jobs.

I don't know when it started, but I can tell you that I got a rainbow Apple sticker when we bought an Apple //e back in the early '80s. I still have that unused sticker somewhere too.

Those stickers were nice maybe 20 years ago to put on your car back window. It just doesn't feel the same to do that anymore.

I did that. Some people thought it was a pride 🌈 rainbow sticker.

I remember when the stickers really meant something - it was a way to show that you had a Mac, and good taste. But now that Apple is not the underdog, and one of the biggest companies in the world, they make a lot less sense.

I hate to break it to you, but the stickers never actually meant something. They were a free billboard for a multinational corporation, a tchotchke-as-marketing-ploy to get people to feel like they were part of some special, twee club, when the reality is, all you did was buy a piece of consumer technology. It's just a computer, and you're... still just you.

Are the stickers harmless, in the end? Sure, probably. But then removing them is harmless too. Good riddance to yet another piece of trash to cast aside. If I could walk into an Apple Store to get a new iPhone (or whatever) and have them just hand me the device and the charging cord to put in my shoulder bag, that'd be great. Keep all the rest, no one actually needs any of it.

I have a bunch in a drawer. One of these days I’ll toss them out. I’m surprised they kept including those stickers for so long.

lol, yet they continue their repairability restricting practices and, the biggest of them all - older iMac inability to work as a second display for their MacBook laptops. Environmental Apple at its best, remove the stickers, so people see how much they care 😹

I love the stickers so much. But I have always been shall we say a bit hesitant to put a sticker on my car that says "I have a device that may be worth thousands of dollars -- but no no no it's not in this car. It's in the house I parked the car in front of!"🍸😹

Good for Apple. It was cute at the beginning when they needed all the marketing they could get and there was a small crowd of devotees who felt special plastering things from a little known company.
