Yeah! I immediately thought of the blue dalmation iMacs when I read this. Bring them on! The girls will love them. Introduce them in November or early December and they'll fly over the counter. But then again... they will anyway, no matter what colour.

I like these color. It's different!

New Feature= Multi-touch

that would be the ipod touch.

personally I think they would nix any further cutesy devo on the nano and focus on bringing down the cost of the Touch. bring up the shuffle in size for those that don't want the bulky Touch.

but really the nano has little place in the line up anymore. except maybe for those Nike users. but that could be shifted into something that is halfway between the current shuffle and the current nano.

Yeah, and I had to put up with studying it in Music - small mercy was the the following band studied was queen.

Sorry, he is a talentless hack who runs around trying to make out he is a living saint.

Christ, I wish he would just find a place, retire and never come out again.

Queen > U2. I do hear ya there.

Some people glorify Bono, some people think he's just some guy playing Jesus out in Darfur saving people that no one in the real world knows exist. For example:

Nothing like a good sacrelgious picture to get my day going, I say.

 I'm sorry I had to. Personally I just think Bono's funny. I like their music to a point, but Bono provides me with entertainment. Sunday Bloody Sunday, and New Year's Day are about the only 2 songs I really like from U2, and their work with Green Day wasn't so bad...

Anyway!

Back to the iPods, I can see either 2 colors on the Nano in 2 forms. Either the front and back are different colors, or the back stays chrome and the 2 different colors are the anodized face and the click wheel, like the U2 iPod, which I won't lie - I lust.:D

New Features?

Since Apple is now adapting to multi-touch, there was a patient for a mutli-touch clickwheel not to long ago. Just to refresh your memories:
14414largejq4.gif

got it from: http://www.about-electronics.eu/2008/01/26/ipod-scroll-wheel-getting-multi-touch-too/

I think this could be a new feature to the iPod. Like when you are watching a movie, use one finger to control volume, then use two fingers to pick an area of the movie to want to watch.

I would think they will just drip the click whell and move to an ipod/iphone type of UI.Kind of hard to do multi-touch on click whell. If you cant click then you'll take the ipod out.....

i am still waiting for the black ipod shuffle.

the shuffle won't die. it's perfectly done and fits that niche in the marketplace perfectly. i can't see how they could improve the form of it any further. only add memory and change colors.

the nano needs to keep the click wheel. it's hard to use multi-touch when you are driving. the nano is better for pure music listening, because you don't have to look at it to fast forward or pause/play.

"new features"?
do I smell a mini-version of the iPod touch?

Or, I was thinking camera.
but that would make it non-affordable to parents wishing to give something to their adolescent children for a religious holiday involving fighting tackling people over to the mall to grab the last TMX.

and... "double the storage"?
Really?
I mean
Honestly?

16/32 GB nano models?
You've got to be sh*tting me.
What's with all these size upgrades
I mean, who uses 160 GB of space? I have yet to see someone with a 160 GB ipod classic (actually.. I've seen one person, while i was waiting in line for the 3G) and I highly doubt they would've been past 30 GB.

Sorry to break it to, but not all people have around 60 albums ripped to 128kbps MP3.
Some of us use lossless or even uncompressed, plus several gigs of podcasts and whatnot. Oh, and use whatever we have on hand as a harddisk (which the Touch and iPhone is incapable of).

We've sold a stack of 160GB classics - people use them to put all their video content and photos on it. Our audiophile customers use them because they can fit all their lossless albums on them.

There's a massive market for them.

Wouldn't the nano's be 8GB and 16GB. They said they were going to double the capacities.

4GB x 2 = 8GB
8GB x 2 = 16GB

Really?? I seriously wouldn't have had any clue
An 80 GB does me fine. I'm not even past 6 GB yet, music wise. I think I have around 11 GB on mine altogether (which makes me look bad... but oh well)
One of the general reasons why I bought a classic and not something smaller was because I just dug the look of it more. The nanos are good looking but a little too childish, and I wasn't going to get an iTouch because I had my eyes out for a 3G, and it was a little too expensive at the time anyway.

ummm people. Not everyone shuffles their albums and music around. Some, like my self want their entire i-tunes libary on the ipod. I dont wan tto be out of town and not have my favorite song to listen to. or an episode of Jericho I want to see so bad only to find out I "swapped it" I hate it when people like you tell us what we should have and what we shouldnt have. its 2008, time to get with the times. If you dont like large storage, then get a nano or even a shuffle., ;)

Do you really look at peoples ipods to see how much storage they have? Remind me never to go near you, because that just looks like you wanting to steal it.

well the more storage the better. it alows you to grow, so the more music you have, the more you can fit

I mean, same here. I don't quite like swapping either, and hey... I'm with the times.... ;-)
Just hearing "160 GB" made me go "holy sh*t, who uses that?" but I just got told off by like 5 people, so I'm gonna shut up.
It just made me think. 160 GB now...
300 GB iPod Classic in a few years? Why not, you know? Since we're going on this rise

Yup, really. But I don't understand how that makes you look "bad" at all. It's your choice.

Personally, I have –*a guess - around the same you have in Podcasts alone (classic radio documentaries and radio plays) = around 15 gigs
Music = around 400 gigs (lossless)
General audio (my own, recorded in 24bit/48khz, some of it mono, some stereo)= around 6-800gigs. about half of it is in lossless.
I don't have an ipod anymore, though. I use another player, and just bought me some (3) butt-slow (it doesn't matter for this application) 32GB SDHC-cards for it.
