Dear god U2/Bono is crap - I wish they would just slip into obscurity and stop punishing the population with their garbage.
Now they are pushing cold play.... we might see a cold play ipod.... knowing apple

I hope this rumour stays just that. I think if iPods ever became multi-coloured then they would look hideous. That being said, if there's anyone who could make a multi-coloured design look good, it's Apple.
Don't know if its been said, but it appears that the iPod event is 17th-20th Sep, with new products being released on the 17th.

I cannot believe that the iPod Classic still exists, I mean how much mobile storage for music do people really need before it becomes too risky for fear of loss.
64-128GB is about the most storage for music someone would need, unlike those who want Apple Lossless music since they claim they can hear the difference while wearing headphones.
Who an iPod to listen to music while at home, use your computer instead. The iPod was designed to be a mobile jukebox and nothing more.
The iPod Touch seems to make the path of future development because of the iPhone OS X project, which leave the iPod Classic and Nano in jeopardy.seems to be pulling and releasing any trick in the book to revise the iPod Classic and Nano line. However we all know this will die sometime if not soon in the near future.
I still cannot believe there is no DiskMode on the iPod Touch.![]()
Yup. Here is how it will go down:
Holiday Season 2008
- 4 GB Shuffle
- 8 & 16 GB Nanos with new colors & software features (maybe iTunes WIFI)
- 16, 32, & 64 GB Touch
- 80 & 160 GB Classics with the new software features (maybe iTunes WIFI)
- 32 GB iPhone 3G after the new year sometime
Holiday Season 2009
- 8 GB Shuffle
- 16 & 32 GB Nano Touch (2.8" screen same resolution as iPhone/Touch)
- 32, 64, & 128 GB Touch
- 16 GB iPhone Nano (2.8" screen same resolution as iPhone/Touch)
- 32, & 64 GB iPhone 4G with iChat Video
See through cases, or Holographic cases, or just holographs, I'm sure they would sell like Hotcakes (whatever those are).
Apple's Flower Power iMac is one reminiscent example of Apple exploring multicolored devices in the past. After being named one of the ugliest products in tech history by PCWorld, we would hope Apple has learned from their mistakes.

Apple should get rid of the shuffle line and combine it with the nano line in something like this

all touch screen (of course the UI would be something a little more similar to the iPod interface on the iPhone.)

Cool, but it would need a better UI, as when it starts getting small, you start needing a stylus to touch the functions, as most fingers will be too big, including the iPhone UI.
That would be pretty cool, but now that I think about it more... How many versions of OS X do you think Apple wants to have going??? What they want to do is consolidate. Therefore what I really see happening is the Nano going Touch AKA iPhone OS X, and the Shuffle will disappear by 2009 sometime.
Oh, I love my shuffle! It's the PERFECT gym companion. Having music options is distracting in the gym. I make sure there's good music on it and it's good to go.
I did mock-ups of the 2G nano a couple of years ago, hmmm.....
