I personally can't envision how multi-colored iPods would be better than solid colors, but I bet Apple will surprise me.

I cannot believe that the iPod Classic still exists, I mean how much mobile storage for music do people really need before it becomes too risky for fear of loss.

64-128GB is about the most storage for music someone would need, unlike those who want Apple Lossless music since they claim they can hear the difference while wearing headphones.

Who an iPod to listen to music while at home, use your computer instead. The iPod was designed to be a mobile jukebox and nothing more.

The iPod Touch seems to make the path of future development because of the iPhone OS X project, which leave the iPod Classic and Nano in jeopardy. :apple: seems to be pulling and releasing any trick in the book to revise the iPod Classic and Nano line. However we all know this will die sometime if not soon in the near future.

I still cannot believe there is no DiskMode on the iPod Touch.

Can anyone get me up to speed on what's going on here?

I mean when is anything new expected from Apple?

I hear new products, new breed of products and now new Nanos? I'm confused... when are we expecting these things? The buzz was so strong that for a moment I thought it would be today cause it's Tuesday. My Tuesdays will forever be known as Apple Tuesdays... well when something new comes along..

;)

All I want them to have is wi-fi. As long as they have that then I'll be happy. Sharing music, using it as a remote, connecting to airtunes. It'd be great.

So either you want an iPod Touch or a Zune.

inputing information on an iPod Classic and Nano would be pointless at this point withe the release of the iPod Touch. ;)

I envision an iPod Shuffle, iPod Nano and iPod Touch. Better yet give the consumer the option to add an external screen to attach to the Shuffle and kill the iPod Nano and Classic line. :p

One thing I think Apple is missing is the capability to store directly from your Digital SLR camera via USB onto your iPod. I have an iPod G5.5 and it's able to use the photo plugin Apple made but it's not compatible with ANYTHING else from Apple since. It's a pain cause, when you're out traveling and you've shot 1800 raw photos, you WILL run out of SD cards. So having an iPod with 80GB or more with the option to store your photos onto it is a blessing next to Aperture when you come home from a long trip.

i think they will change the back from metal to plastic..

btw i have a new nano and classic, should i start to sell them now? because i always want the new stuff from apple

So, you're saying that the iPod Touch will basically lead to the end for the other iPod lines? I disagree to an extent. Yes, for the average consumer, the Touch is arguably the best purchase. However, as you pointed out, the Touch doesn't have nearly as much capacity as the Classic. Some people like to have their entire 10,000-song library on their iPod. Thus, the Classic is their best choice. As for the Nano, its small size and easy-to-use interface is quite appealing. Also, an 8 GB Nano is $100 less than an 8 GB Touch. Another consideration is that some people just don't want or need all the features that the Touch offers. For example, many people don't spend most of their time in areas with Wi-Fi access. Some people just want a simple music/video player.

Nevertheless, if Apple were to reduce the physical size of the iPod Touch (which would not be easy) and lower its pricetag, then it could hurt the Nano....

Overall, there is some--but not total--overlap amongst the iPod lines. I think this new color scheme is just a way to help distinguish the Nano a bit more.

Anyone think of this?

What if they had the entire front of the iPod (assuming the back is metal) made of really well cropped together LCD lights.. While on your ipod you just choose the style you like and the LCD's adjust to the pattern/color you like.

or they just put a smiley face on em.

i think they will change the back from metal to plastic..

nope. Steve said they will move all their products to the medal design when he introduced the current imac. Its more green anyway, apple wants to be green as well as million other compneys

With songs weighing it at less then 100KB and videos at less then 2GB it really should be enough but its nice to half half videos and half music or what ever.

for you, not for everyone. I hate when people tell me what I need and what I dont need. I do agree on the headphones. Thats why I bought a bose set at 95.99 not some cheep ones from walmart like most people do. Yeah I know they dont all have the money but if you do why not spend it on something decent then "shoes"

ummm I do. I always listen to it when I go to bed. I set my ipod to go to sleep in like a hour and i just listen to music. I dont want to listen to the radio and i dont want to move my huge ipod stero in my bedroom...

Mobile jukebox? Yeah from 2001-2006 now its more with the addition of video, podcasts the ipod touch and iphone with wi-fi, app store. the ipod is now an multimedia box then just a music player.

I agree. Thats why by at least 2011, 10 years since the ipods introduction the click whell will be out and we will be on to full blown multi- touch and may be a newer technology. I do though hope to see the touch in a HD base. more storage is a must.

I still cannot believe there is no DiskMode on the iPod Touch.

perhaps because its a flash based player and not a HD.

the iphones back is plastic so how is the greener>?

anyway i think nanos will still come in solid colors but also the track wheel
so it makes it multi color that way

While I dont have 10,000 songs I do like to have ALL my music on my ipod. I dont like to shuffle songs around like some do. I may be out and about and want to listen to a song I like only to find out I traded it in for another song when I did the shuffle..

I said the same thing. I guess its for better recpection. But then didnt the old iphone have a black plastic tab for the attrenta

I think the CLICK WHELL will have LED lights on it and you could change them. thats if they will contune with the click whell.

Aaaand, aren't the current nano's multi-colored? E.g. light green on the front, with a white click wheel, and chrome back? The U2 iPod was also multi-colored.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 2_0 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/525.18.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/3.1.1 Mobile/5A347 Safari/525.20)

please no multicolor please please please! But I wouldn't mind hearing the new features they are taut to bring....

Yay, bring back the colors! I miss the colored iBooks. There are hardshells for macbooks but they make the thing half an inch thicker and most of them (the case) look terrible. The're not a lot of space to decorate though... Nanos are basically just a screen and a clickwheel... Maybe they're getting rid if the chrome (actually stainless steel) back? That would be nice.

PS: Seen someone using a white iPhone from afar. Damn, you can spot there things from a really big distance. :)

Naaa...no moving parts...no click wheel. Just a nice adaptation of the accelerometer to move forward and back then give it a shake to stir up your songs... add some multi-touch for other feature inputs and you got pure sex going on.

As for colors, if you look at the multicolor background colors for the iPod ads, Apple has already made those color schemes synonymous with iPod, why not lever off of that?

IIiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii KNow what it is!!!!

Apple has FINALLY devised the smallest iPod in the history of the world.

It's called iImplant!

There is a DIY kit but a doctor would be advisable to sugically implant the tiny, brain controlled iPod which comes in 1GB and 2GB. It doesn't have to be charged cause it uses the amp in the human body to work. Also, it's got Bluetooth so you can wirelessly upload your music.

Ear phones you ask? You don't need them as it's stuck on your cerebellum.

So how much does this cost? $57.000 if you have to have a doctor implant it for you... However the DIY kit is only $7!!!

:p :D

Apples smallest iPod EVER!

Say Hello... or THINK iPod Cerebellum!

Packaging comes in 4 colors!

Hmmm like this???

Oh wait....

Dear god U2/Bono is crap - I wish they would just slip into obscurity and stop punishing the population with their garbage.
