That shouldn't matter.. Water is water, its made for swimming.. Its just a matter of did he go below 6 feet with it, which I don't think he did..

Honestly, I wonder if he was missing that back seal like we seen someone else say

Like I said I don't think we have enough info. If he did not have that seal then he should have seen that before putting the case in the water. If you are a reviewer you should know better than that. The seals are the first thing I check.

That's why I don't feel something is quite right above that video...

I think it's highly unlikely the case was defective if LP water test their cases before shipment...

Something else with this video is suspiciously going on...

So I made a comment on the video and here was the message I got back
"Nothing against the company and I just did what the directions told me to do and clearly you can see the water inside the case. I want a case that I can do quick film clips of freshwater fish I catch like three feet under next to my boat. This case advertises 6.6 feet of water protection. I only had it down 3 feet at the most. Are you using yours underwater. I feel that it is way to risky to put my iPhone 5 in this case and just hope it works cause that is all I would be doing if I put my phone in it. When I get my seashell case by Lear corporation I will post a video review of it and I truly just want a good underwater case. No grudge against life proof."

Who knows?

So here was this joke tea latest reply

"Not the same price for a go pro I have looked into it. Also the ease of use and video sharing is not even close to iPhone tech yet. I am referring to the fact that go pro has to be uploaded through an app then you can use the iPhone to share your videos so yes I need a case for filming underwater yet I want something to protect my phone from everyday use as well. The life proof nuud is not the case for me clearly. Again I feel the product is misrepresented by stating 6.6 feet of water protection. Since it failed in only 3 feet of water that tells me no way would it handle double the water pressure at 6.6. I don't think you can say the nuud is reliable underwater if you have never tried it. However it doesn't sound like you need your case to do that so it clearly fits your needs. Had I wanted a water "resistant" case the mud I'm sure would be fine. I'm just saying that the Nuud clearly says 6.6 feet of depth that your phone is going to be fine and kept dry not semi dry as that would be ridiculous but as my video shows even three feet deep the nuud fails. I guess my version of what they say it can do is up to every users interpretation. My interpretation of the claims made by nuud is that it would be fine underwater. It even says to leave it in water for five minutes to do the test. I dont think people are actually testing it to see if it can actually be submerged in up to 6.6
Not trying to dump on life proof. I just feel if they say it can do something it shod be able to do it. Especially for the amount of money a person pays for a new life proof case."

I have since sent him a message back telling him how we have no idea how he put the case on, if he did something wrong, or if their was something wrong with the case because he never showed us him putting it on the phone. He also assumed because I have not put my Nuud into water deeper than 2ft that all I need is rain protection. Guy seems like kind of a douche. I will keep you guys posted.

I believe that the plastic testing insert was not meant for deep water. The case should seal much better against the glass screen. Anyway, that's what water testing is for. Some cases fail. Check for anything that may compromise the seal and retest. If it fails get it replaced. I have used LP cases since my original preordered iPhone 4 case and have yet to have a failure.

now you're just messing with him :D

On another note, this may be an obvious answer, but are screen protectors waterproof?

I applied a Bodyguardz protector to the back of the plastic case, and I wanted to do another water test with the dummy phone, but wanted to know....since the case will be submerged in water for a long period, will that start to peel the outer edge of the protector??....or even damage the protector itself?

Yea I guess I am messing with him. I just don't understand why he felt the need to PM me. I left a comment on the video saying did he know to put the case together because he did not show us he did. I also ask if he had something against LP. He could have simply answered those questions in the comments of the video. He wanted to try to tell me how awful the case was, and how I would never know cause I would never use the case for anything more than rain protection. So yea now I am just messing with him.

The sides of my case bow out ever so slightly. Anyone else notice this about their case. The only audio issues I have experienced are when I try to use speaker phone. The other person hears their own echo and its hard to have a good conversation. Not a huge problem because I rarely use the speaker phone. Opening the charge port helps a little.

So my nuud is going back, I don't like the home button and having the case come right up to the very edge of the screen sucks for typing and any iOS 7 gestures you may have to do such as Control Center and swiping to go back in Safari. At least with my big thumbs.

Also the audio is not the best, I can only turn it up half way or it will distort and sound like a blown speaker.

And on top of all that I had the case leak from the membrane that covers the front receiver speaker.

I took the iPhone out right away and the only part that was wet was directly under the membrane.

I tested a few times with the dummy iPhone and every time you could see a little moisture getting in through the speaker cover.

Not sure if I didn't catch it in the first water test or if the leak started after.

Oh well no big deal, I have ACP and it looks to be ok, not a lot of water got in!

Hey guys, do me a favor and send a message to Spigen. You'll need to go to www.spigen.com and create an account, then go to their help desk and fill out a ticket. I just contacted them and asked them to create a GLAS.tR screen protector cut to fit the lifeproof Nuud case. I'm thinking that if more people email them with the same request that they might just actually do it.

The more I think about it, the more I think that a Nuud case with a glass screen protector cut to fit the exposed screen would be the ideal solution.

I concur with u 1000% but I think it would require an ample amount of annoying emails to them :)

Yeah, I dunno what the chances of them actually making one are, but I figure it certainly can't hurt to ask. Plus, this should be a whole lot easier to make than their other screen protectors since it's just a little rectangle... no need to worry about following the contours of a phone or putting a hole for the home button or speaker in the right place.

Exchanged the Nuud I got shipped with another one at best buy.

This one is perfect! The home button isn't crooked nor loose, and there is no snapping on the lower right portion of the front! Gonna do a water test to make sure it's perfect!

EDIT:

Just water tested the case with the mock iPhone. First time, I didn't snap it shut all the way, so I let it dry inside and out, and re-did it. Passed it!

Again, I don't ever plan on submerging my iPhone in water, but I do work outside at both of my jobs, so I the reason I want the case is for a piece of mind if it rains, the phone will be fine.

LOVE this case. Wayyyy better than the Frē!

In spite of my previous statements, I decided to pick up a nüüd. Very nice overall. As others have noted, the back is going to get scratched up quickly. After about 36 hours mine is already scuffed up.

Thanks I tried changing the hearing aid settings and still no luck. I compared it to my fre case and yes on the Nuud it's slightly off but I honestly don't want to touch it now. But I will anyway and report back later.

On another note. After using the Nuud lately the fre does sound muffled

Had that issue also with my first Nuud case - no one could hear me (listened for myself and it was pretty bad). To be fair, I didn't inspect the first case to see whether that foam piece had shifted. Decided to exchange it, and all is well now. I've always preferred and have up until now used only bumper style cases for my iPhones (since the iPhone 4). However, here are my thoughts on the case after a few days...

Very Rugged Construction - I've dropped it once since owning it (from about 4.5 feet) and to my surprise, no scuffs on the case, at least none I could see - albeit this was in the shower, I would imagine if it were on concrete it would be a different story... Nonetheless - still impressed. I've thrown it around on the grass at a local park and the clear backing does scratch/scuff up fairly easily but lightly - you'd really have to angle it into a light reflection to see anything thanks to the slightly gray/smoke coloring of the plastic against the backdrop of the gray/black iPhone 5. A concern of the case I hadn't thought of prior to purchase was the lens (both front and back) and how it may affect photo/video quality - glad to report that it doesn't, at least none that I could discern having taken before/after pictures/videos. I do have one concern, which is the plastic covering over the camera flash - it appears to be rather flimsy, while I'm sure that is not an indicator of durability - it's worth mentioning.

Water Protection - I did test in the sink full of water with a movie playing for 15 min. - no issue there. I've also used it everyday while in the shower with no issue aside from water droplets causing accidental touches on the screen :) Also, the one time I did drop it in the shower (which worried me a bit), the case still remained waterproof.

The Infamous Home Button - my first case (which I exchanged for reasons above) had both a very loose home button and was crooked; oddly enough - my usual OCD with cases didn't kick in. If anything, I did test the first case I had with my iPhone 5 in it and submersed in water with no issue... just a cosmetic issue - but I completely understand. My second case is quite the opposite, perfectly lined up home button icon with a fairly rigid feel.

Sound - I understand its very subjective, but I'm OK with the quality of sound with the case on. Two things, the case does "dampen" the sound a bit. Also depending on the song, it can give a slight tinny sound effect akin to a blown speaker - but only at the highest volumes. As for LifeProof's claim to enhancing sound - the case does project the sound forward... I'm no expert - however, it seems louder in quiet rooms and softer in louder environments - I know, odd, but I can't explain it any other way :p

And lastly - The sound quality of captured video from the rear camera is quite compromised with the case - and can only be explained by the noise-cancelling mic on the back being covered. Front facing camera video captures sound without an issue... Hearing Aid mode doesn't do anything for it either...

And thats all folks...

OK, so I got annoyed enough with the belt clip that I ran out to best buy and bought a new one. I'll probably just give the new one that lifeproof sends to replace my old one to my wife.

Here are a couple of pics. The first one is showing what happened when I put the nuud case in my old belt clip... the clip just doesn't come down enough to hold the phone in. You can push it down and it gets a bit better, but it won't stay all the way down and it's easy to pull the phone out.

The second pic shows the two clips next to each other. The difference is at the bottom. The new one is on the right and the old on the left.

I contacted Lifeproof via email and Facebook in regards to the belt clip & car mount not fitting properly on the Nuud. I sent them multiple photo angles such as you shown here. There social media people tell me they are "looking into it" and will get back to me. I made it clear I have zero intentions of purchasing new accessories since they advertise that they work fine. Typically I'm not one to fight over it but since I bought these just a short few months ago and paid full retail I expect replacements.

Has anyone had a good experience having any accessories replaced?

I called a week or so ago when I first got the Nuud case and after sitting on hold for nearly 30 minutes I got someone and explained my problem. At first she seemed a bit surprised that I was having issues, but she asked when I got my belt clip. I told her I got it back in January when they were first available. She put me on hold for a bit to speak with her supervisor and came back and told me that there are two versions of the clip and they would send the new version to me. It shipped a couple of days ago and should be here soon.

Hello all. First time poster here. All the info on this is great. I have never spent this much on a case before. However, having 2 kids i hate having to switch in between a slim case and otterbox so i decided to give this a try. I picked up this case a few days ago, but had to exchange due to sound quality. No one could hear me.. etc. The new one i have sounds perfect but the home button is very loose. Going to just return it and get it from a verizon store to be eligable for total water protection. I just have a few questions that I don't think have been answered. First, I hear a lot of people saying they wanted it just in case it rains. Is this case really meant for what lifeproof shows and features in pictues? Taking it into the pool, letting your child take it in the tub and such? Second, I have noticed the only real flaw to myself that no one has mentioned is that speaker phone mode is pretty useless.. Everyone just complains about hearing their own voice echo. Is there no way around it, or is that just a sacrifice if I'm going to keep this case? I've been on the fence about it on wether to get a different kind or not. But you're answers would greatly help. Thanks again for all the great tips.

Let me start by saving u a trip to verizon..

Lifeproof does not offer the nuud case at verizon currently. It is only available at bestbuy or at lifeproof.com

There is NO water protection plan currently available for the Nuud. Doesn't matter where you get it from.
