Many of us use iPhones in a corporate environment with security policies that mandate a long alphanumeric passphrase to be input before one can use the phone. This is extremely inconvenient and time consuming. Imagine having to enter a 10-digit passphrase with letters and numbers just to make a call or check an email. Now multiply that by dozens of times a day. fingerprint authentication that allowed one to bypass manual passphrase entry would be an absolutely killer feature for us. I'd upgrade just for that feature alone.

This.

Explanations have no effect on Luddites. If the feature doesn't apply to them, it's a stupid feature.

Ok I do understand that can be a pain. My question for you is what makes you think that if Apple does do this your company will adopt it? If your company is so secure would they not have to do all kinds of test, and make sure it passes a lot of stuff before they put it on your company phone? Look how long it took big corporations to even use the iPhone for corporate email. Some within the last year or so. If I remember correctly most of the government phone switched within this year from Blackberry. This is not some magic over night feature for your company phone. At that it will only help you if your company decides that it is safe enough.

How would this feature not apply to me? How do you know I don't work at a company that has long pass codes to get into my iphone? The answer is that you have no idea. I see this as a gimmick from Apple not a security feature. I am not even sold on the fact they are going to use it. There is a lot more that Apple could improve the iPhone than a fingerprint scanner.

So my nuud is going back, I don't like the home button and having the case come right up to the very edge of the screen sucks for typing and any iOS 7 gestures you may have to do such as Control Center and swiping to go back in Safari. At least with my big thumbs.

Also the audio is not the best, I can only turn it up half way or it will distort and sound like a blown speaker.

And on top of all that I had the case leak from the membrane that covers the front receiver speaker.

I took the iPhone out right away and the only part that was wet was directly under the membrane.

I tested a few times with the dummy iPhone and every time you could see a little moisture getting in through the speaker cover.

Not sure if I didn't catch it in the first water test or if the leak started after.

Oh well no big deal, I have ACP and it looks to be ok, not a lot of water got in!

So my nuud is going back

This is the same thing you posted two days ago. Are you wanting us to react some way? If you don't like the case then you don't like it. Go ahead and return it and get something that works better for you. You don't need our permission.

Yea I thought this looked like just the same post. Are we suppose to argue with him why he should keep the case? I don't care anything about doing that.

Nope just wasn't sure if anybody seen it! :p have a nice day!

Well so my case leaked and I made a post here and not a single a soul said anything so I copied it and posted it again.

My case failed at the speaker cover and had nothing to do with the way I installed it or the way I treated the case. This is not my first life proof case nor my first nuud series case.

The reason I even posted here was to maybe have other people see it and know what to look for when they get theirs or even for people that have one to maybe double check theirs.

So hopefully I helped somebody out, if not then oh well all I did was piss some people off for no reason.

Oh and if anybody gives a **** I gave the home button a beating before I returned my nuud, and let me tell you that thing is on there good! Idk what kind of glue or what ever life proof used but that thing is there to stay!

Anyway good luck with your life proofs people!

Alright we'll I am sorry you did not like your case, but I am not sure that your post needed a response did it? If you were trying to help people then only those that needed help should respond right?

I'm sorry I guess it's my fault, when I post in a forum and nobody responds to it I kinda feel like it went unnoticed. on something as important as a Lifeproof waterproof seal failing, I kinda thought somebody would of chimed in.

Sorry I wasted your time.

You did not waste anyone's time. We have seen things go wrong before with these cases. That is why you water test them before you use them. LP is not perfect, and I know there are going to be some cases that don't work. I just made sure mine did. If it had not I would have taken it back and gotten another one. I think LP has enough of a reputation to be able to get a good one. If you choose not to buy another LP that is fine. You had a bad experience. Don't really blame you much. Again sorry that happened. Not sure what else to say.

Well, to change the subject a bit, the skin for my wife's case arrived today. It looks like the back should fit with no problem, but the front might require a little trimming. The cut out for the screen is just a little too small as well as the cutout for the front camera, sensors, and ear piece.

But the really odd thing is that the home button appears to be in a different spot on the Fre and the Nuud cases. I would have assumed that they were both positioned directly above the actual home button on the phone, but that doesn't seem to be the case. It looks like the home button on the Nuud is maybe a millimeter lower than the home button on the Fre.

It seems to be pretty well centered in the bottom part of the bezel on the Nuud case, so maybe they took a little poetic license and thought it would look better that way, or perhaps they had to move it a little to create room for the seal to keep it waterproof. In either case, trimming the skin to work with the home button might be a bit more interesting.

Once my wife gets home from work tonight with her phone I'll see what I can do.

Alright and post some picture when you get done. I was thinking about getting a skin when I had the Fre, but after I got this case and had the clear back. It is perfect. I like being able to see the iPhone.

I requested transparent color skins for the LP nüüd case from sticker boy I'm hoping they come out soon I wanna transparent green skin for the back.

For those of you with the Nuud, what do you think about the possibility of MIME's new glass screen shield fitting with the case? I have provided a link below. The shield's thickness is only 0.15mm. However, I am assuming that no matter how thin a screen protector is, the case will not function correctly unless it is in direct contact with the iphone's screen. Thoughts?

The official word from lifeproof is no screen protector, so if you try it you're on your own. Since this is glass, then I would think that the case would seal against the screen protector as well as it seals against the iphone screen, but the big concern would be if it made the phone too thick for the front and back pieces of the case to seal together well.

Clearly the thinner the better and .15mm certainly seems pretty thin, but I have no idea how well it would actually work. If someone really wanted to experiment they could get a screen protector and apply it to the blue plastic 'fake' phone and put that in the case and try to do some extreme water testing with it, but I don't think the screen protector is removable, so you'd be spending $28 for the test.

Unless you did not pull back the plastic on the sticky side of the protected and just put it against the blue tester, and put the case on.

Yeah, I had considered that, but it also adds a bit of extra thickness... And when you're talking about .15mm even a little bit of plastic backing adds some.

That is true, and it thought about that right after I said it. I guess if you tried it that way and it worked then you would know it worked without the plastic back. I don't know. I am not going to be testing it.

I picked up the Nuud case for my iPhone 5 today. I have been very happy with my iPad Nuud case, so I figured I would give the iPhone case a shot.
So far, GREAT! Callers tell me there are no auditory problems. Music sounds just fine.
I have read of users having difficulty deploying the Control Center on the Home screen because of the plastic bezel at the bottom of the screen. I had the same problem but I think I have found a solution. This method has worked every time I tried it.
Keep moderate pressure against the case along side of the Home button, then, while maintaining this pressure, quickly flick your thumb up onto the screen. The Control Center will pop up :)
Of course, on the Lock screen, this is not an issue, but the same method works there as well.

I am very disappointed with Lifeproofs lack of customer care regarding my belt clip and car mount not fitting properly for my Nuud case. Also a nuisance are the constant dust particles that get in the sensor and camera slots. Not that big a deal but with a jail broken iPhone using f.lux I find it constantly dimming the phone screen.

I may end up going back to my Fre if Lifeproof refuses to swap out my accessories anyway. The Nuud does have improvements over the Fre for sure but the Fre was less maintenance.

I've seen videos and reports of removing the 2 rubber bumpers on the top part of the older belt clip sled makes the nüüd case fit perfect. Allows you to lock it as we'll. may want to try that & see.

I bet they're making a killing off of this case... someone needs to make the same thing and sell it $20 cheaper. I'm pretty sure that's possible without losing an ounce of protection or skipping testing.

I gave that a shot on the car mount but it still does not fit properly. Normally I wouldn't have a problem but the fact that they advertised that the Fre accessories fit the Nuud is why I'm discouraged. I hope they make it right.
