How about you take it off and put it on the dummy iphone and water test it for us??

if it doesn't work, then at least we ALL will know, if it does work, you can get a replacement for a cheaper price, and it will help our Nuud community know if the tolerances are actually that tight

But really. This would be such a big help to a bunch of us.

Ok so I've had this case for just over a week now. Exchanged once. Newest one I have works great so far. Improved audio etc. Just have a couple questions now. Why do you think a total water protection program wasn't offered with this phone? Do you think one will be given as an option eventually? I never owned a fre so maybe it was the same way at first.

I had that same question. I am not sure if they will offer it later. I have both the Fre and Nuud case, and I have a warranty claim right now on the Fre, so I will ask the CS person about this.

I wish we didn't need that adapter to use any non-apple headphones... I lose mine every. single. time. My fre adapter? Gone. my Nuud adapter? Gone.

Suggestion, leave it attached to your headphones. Then unless you lose the headphones you won't lose the adapter. :)

They've said on their Facebook page they are trailing the water protection plan, yes trailing meaning after the cases are out for awhile. Not sure why and they don't offer it on previously purchased cases, just at time of purchase. Sucks for early adopters.

'Trialing'.

I'm seriously debating getting one of these new .15mm glass screen protectors to try with the fake phone. It just seems like this case with a glass screen protector would be the ultimate combination and the new .15mm ones are pretty crazy thin. Like two or three sheets of paper. Most of the older glass ones are .4 or .5 mm, so .15 is a pretty big difference.

My thoughts exactly. This would be a perfect set up in my opinion. Let us know what you find if you decide to do it.

Don't debate just do it!

Imagine the fan base you'll get!! x)

So apparently this is easier said than done. There are only two .15mm screen protectors that I can find. The mime feather glass apparently had a bad production run and is out of stock now with no eta.

The other one is the spigen glasT slim nano (not to be confused with the glasT slim, which is only .26mm thick). Unfortunately, right now it looks like that's only available for the galaxy S4 right now.

I'll keep my eye on these two and see if they come up with something I can get my hands on, but in the mean time, is anyone aware of a .15mm glass screen protector that is actually available?

I was actually thinking of getting a glasT and getting some glass cutters and cutting it to fit. Even with it being only .15mm I still wouldn't trust the case to be waterproof due to the fact that the case was molded around a naked iPhone. Even the slightest mm raise could hinder that feature. Then you're out a $300 - $500 phone just to protect the screen.

I am seriously curious what you guys are doing to rape your phones enough to be this desperate for a screen protector on top of the Lifeproof case. Trust me, I adore my iOS devices but if you're not using the phone as a cutting board, you're fine! I understand that Gorilla Glass isn't perfect, but it meets and exceeds everyday use and beyond. Companies make millions of dollars off of the OCD worry's of the tech community. They are boxing and selling tiny sheets of plastic that literally cost them nothing. Truthfully 99.9% of people don't need a screen protector at all. The glass is by far the most resilient part of the phone. Also, knowing how enthusiastic the community is about Apple hardware, you're going to be replacing the phone with an upcoming model- either the 5s or 6.

I want to clarify- I am not by any means trying to troll or upset anyone, I just can't justify a reasoning for this behavior aside from some minor OCD worries. I use multiple iOS devices in all environments for my job and have never used a screen protector. My job's workflow directly ties to the consistent use of these devices and I've yet to damage the screen of any of them (with plenty of drops, tosses, and close encounters with keys in a pocket)

Still LOVE the Nuud.

*Drops the iPhone and walks away*

Would u guys just do it already!!!!

Don't make us wait any longer not knowing if this will work on regulator screen protectors, let alone glass

:$)

Is there anyone who didn't use their screen protector that wants to sell it? Mine didn't come with one and I can't for the life of me get lifeproof to respond to me.

The problem there is that the glasT and all the other good glass screen protectors are tempered glass and you can't cut tempered glass... The whole thing will shatter. Someone would need to make a glass screen protector sized to fit the nuud case.

After going back and forth with Lifeproof's social network people I was able to convince them to warranty my belt clip. The crappy part is I have to go through Amazon to warranty the car mount even though it came directly from Lifeproof themselves

Is Best Buy the only b&m with these in stock? I checked my local AT&T and Walmart and they only had the Frē.

My local AT&T store had a half off coupon for any accessory in the neighborhood coupon magazine so I grabbed a Frē for $40, but I think I rather have the Nuud.

Yes for the time being they are only being sold from Lifeproof or BestBuy stores. You could always use that half off to get the belt clip for the Fre and use it with the Nuud.

I'm afraid that I might stretch out or deform the seal having a full screen protector. Also, have you seen the YouTube vid where it easily snaps open with Zagg installed when dropped?

Hey guys-

Made an account just to post this. I'm currently using a full matte/anti-fingerprint screen protector in conjunction with my Nuud case. I can see how glass covers might not work, but a super thin protector will simply make the seal just a bit tighter.

Just got out of the shower with my phone, works fine.

These are the protectors I use. I cannot go back to using a non-matte/fingerprint reducing protector so I just said "the hell with it" and gave it a try. Works fine! no leakage whatsoever.

Hope this helps those curious.

****DISCLAIMER: Yes. I am aware that LifeProof recommends not doing this. I assumed that the tolerances were not scientific so I used the protector anyway. Rubber stretches folks, .01mm isn't going to cause that much a difference. Yes. I am aware that if my phone gets wet it was my own fault. Carry on****

That's honestly not a good idea, don't blame LifeProof if you ruin your phone when your phone gets water damage. They specifically say not to do that.

Have you done it? Have you tried it or has anyone you know done it? Has anyone in this forum done it and had their case fail...? I've had my case for over a week and have had no problems. Swimming, shower, rain etc..

Sometimes you just gotta try things yourself if you want to know that they work. In this case, it does.

It was tested BY LifeProof and it's even the first thing it says NOT to do on the instructions. But like I said if it ruins your phone, good luck.

BTW, yes I've had tried a screen protector underneath the iPhone 4 lifeproof case when they 1st came out to get rid of the nasty oil slick, and almost ruined my phone because it leaked.

A screen protector to go under the screen protector on the Fre? Lol uhhh...I'll be sure to let everyone know if mine leaks, if it does i'll pay $50 to get a new one so ultimately I'm not super worried.

I thought this forum was to provide other people with first-hand experience but maybe not! Enjoy the instruction manuals.

This is the thread for the Nüüd iPhone case, not the Fré. Two different beasts.
