Not sure what's taking so long. The CPU's have been available. We got 40 new dual CPU PC workstations in that use the same chips a couple months ago.

Well it's 5AM PST and the store didn't go down, and the nMP page hasn't changed. Don't they update it by now? Certainly by 6AM PST AFAIK, so I think it will be next week.

Apple's site says the Mac Pro is "Coming in December."

Doesn't say what year.

2020, I think. My proof is the amazing thread I've been commenting in which some of our superior members here compare the nMP to the SR-71, and claim the nMP has more engineering effort in it....

I know Apple almost always holds it's "special events" on a Tuesday, but has anyone tracked what day (in particular) Apple is most likely to release a product on?

In other words, if they most often release on a Tuesday we can expect the 10th or 17th because they probably won't release on Christmas eve or New Years eve.

I can see the reasoning behind your thinking for probably every single other Apple product. However, I think with this type of professional product they could release it on Xmas day and it would have no real bearing on anything.

My prediction was for Wednesday this week, so I am still holding thumbs for that. The fact that we have had no leaks of model numbers does not bode well for that prediction though.

I'm guessing next week we will see its release.....was actually expecting it this week, oh well.

I start to think it is somewhat aftermath of what happened with 2012 iMac. They've got flamed for very long delivery time. So now they delay release until they're sure it won't jump more than 6-7 days because of low stock.

So this time they getting flamed for not putting up preorders. Wonder what happen next time? They gonna put preorders early, ship you empty box early and say we going to deliver machine itself when we're ready? :) Jut to avoid flaming :)
(Sorry for letting my imagination fly) :)

they will be pressured into releasing it before its ready and get flamed for not ironing out issues

Edward Snowden/NSA leak….PreOrders on 12/31/13 ("coming in Dec"…) with in store availability 2/14/14. ;)

The only leak we have says next Monday.

That's the closest we have to a real time.

Most were probably hoping the German date was a delayed date from the American release day. Small chance it releases Thursday or Friday, but who knows?

As much as I'd like it to be true, I wouldn't put any faith in it. If that reseller really knew the date, I can't imagine they'd be the only one. And if the resellers knew the date, I can't imagine none of them would have leaked it.

Expand your imagination :D :p

It's obviously hard to say, but the fact that a reseller started taking pre-orders for the 16th and has since removed mention of it, says something. Maybe they did it without any knowledge of the launch date, and decided to pull it after getting inundated with pre-orders they knew they could never fulfill... although that sounds terribly risky (and dumb) if you value your business. Or perhaps they were taking a wild guess and wanted to create some publicity and early orders but again realized they may be unable to fulfill. Or, perhaps they were simply told to remove it and shut up.

At any rate, the good news is that regardless of the actual launch date, it's getting closer every day. :)

Would Apple Stores stock the new nMP base models upon release? Have they stocked MP models in the past?
Any sense in pencilling in a trip to an Apple Store for next week?

Which would only cover the 12 core options. E5-1xxx v2 availability is not very good.

I wouldn't be surprised if they got a couple.

I've got to say this is annoying, now that I've made my decision and have committed to getting a nMP this wait is getting on my nerves. Surely they will release it next week - Monday or Tuesday probably, but why do they have to keep it a surprise? Typical Apple I suppose, create mystery where there need be none.
