New Mac Pro Available When?

I doubt that it will be released sometime today.

If it is released on XMAS eve....there is a higher chance that you will spill egg nog on it....so you have to buy another one.

If it is released on New Year's eve....there is a higher chance that you will spill bourbon (and blackened peas) on it.....so you have to buy another one.

Apple is smarter than the average bear.
 
December 19th

For some reason I recall December 19th from all the hype back in October. I've googled the date along with MacPro and don't get any significant hits. I usually get all my info from MacRumors and sometimes the news on TV so I don't know why this date stuck with me. And, if they wait any longer, why bother doing anything this year?

This may be related to astronomical "Fall" (or autumn to us Brits) ends on Friday 20th so perhaps the 19th is the last day in Fall or at least the last Thursday, if Thursdays have some sort of significance for Apple ....:confused:

I agree. Lets face it,

* most people are finished this Friday for the Christmas and attention will be elsewhere for the rest of the hols
* most individuals buying this will probably have that MP budgets stretched even tighter after Christmas
* most ppl that manage to order will not get their MP before Christmas
* most companies that were hoping to allocate 2013 IT spend are going to have spent at this stage

I guess in spite of all this, if they do release this December it's because they said they would. It'd look bad if they didn't meet their vague December deadline. Thats my guess anyway.

BTW just to be politically correct, when I said "most people are finished this Friday for the Christmas". I mean most Christians. :)

Ok, officially annoyed now.

At this point, since we are probably going to get a "shipping in March" statement from them, if I had a 3,1+, I would probably just buy upgrades and go on with that. But with a 1,1, I don't really want to spend $1k to upgrade a system that old, and I certainly don't want to start applying firmware flashes to my main system.

grr....
 
Mac Pro…your store might have one ;)

I've been working with my local store's business team to get my machine spec'd out and in an email today he said the release is imminent, "since a few flagship stores are starting to get demo's in." Unfortunately, mine apparently isn't one of them.

Meh, that sounds like "ship 1000 to studio clients", rest are shipping in March.
 
This is turing into a joke. It appears that apple has once again dropped the ball on this release.
 
I'm starting to feel like pro users have been thrown a bone, and the bone is being thrown in slow motion.

All I can tell myself is that the fact that the machine was assembled in the USA has stalled its production, for whatever reason.
 
10AM Cupertino time has come and gone. I don't think its happening until Dec 31, what a shame.
 
It's been a long time since Apple has had this much trouble meeting a self-imposed deadline on hardware. I wonder if they're having trouble producing the new casing in high enough volumes, or if AMD is not meeting supply for the FirePro cards.
 
I doubt Apple corporate reads this forum, but this has to be one of the poorest launches of an Apple product. Just level with us . When will it be avail? "Coming In December" is way to open ended.

Especially when we're past the halfway point of December already.
 
I wouldn't be surprised if they will be shipping it soon. Their "assembly video" made it appear that their factories are pretty much all lined up to go, and have already begun mass producing some of the components (maybe the outside case).

Thats a serious factory that has undergone extensive setup, tooling and configuration for a product they have yet to release to market. My guess is they'll have no problems with shipping, but are waiting for outside components (maybe AMD), and with any product launch they need to have a definitive shipping date already lined up before they sell it.

Since today was missed, there's no way we are getting hardware until January, at earliest. Best we'll get is an "order now" page towards the end of this week.

And that German retailer can go get bent...
