I don´t own any Britney Spears products either and still these worthless things sell millions and make people "happy", but are they truly happy? Or is it just materialistic behaviour and need to fill their empty lives? Yes, just like with iPad.

The iPhone is also materialistic crap. It doesn't add anything to your life that could not be achieved with simpler things. If you needed a phone you can get them for $20 at a post office.

Preference in music is entirely personal. Please list your favorite artists and I will rag on them. After all, if one person doesn't like it, then all of the other people are unhappy materialistic empty lived suckers.

Oh for God's sake, you've gone completely off the rails. You should become a monk and give up all earthly possessions

I do travel a lot, but I´m not gonna destroy a movie by watching it with 10" screen. Have some respect for art man!

Funny. My 10" iPad is currently taking up more of my field of view then my 40" television. You know, because I am sitting here on the couch typing this while watching a movie. Perhaps I am disrespecting this movie producer since I am watching his movie on the device which currently represents the smallest display.. Aah relativity.

Your logic is flawed. And clearly if you can't justify the purchase to yourself or if you want more from a device than it can provide - it's just not for you...

Trolls don't care that their logic is flawed, that is why they are trolls! :D

Fact is the iPad already has killer features that the iPhone doesn't:
* Higher resolution Screen 1024 by 768 vs 960 by 640
* Larger Screen 9.7" vs. 3.5"
* Longer battery life (IMO Apple had really understated the battery life of the iPad)
* Faster processor (iPhone 4 and iPod Touch use a under-clocked version of the A4 processor).
* Contract not required OR lower price vs. unlocked iPhone

and runs thousands of applications that the iPhone can't, or run them significantly better.

If those don't mean anything to you, then the iPad isn't for you. Move on.

Sure I wish it had a few of iPhone 4 features such as cameras, gyro, feedback but to say it is stripped down is asinine.

For the next version I'm looking to see camera (probable), more memory (probable), higher capacities (50/50) and I would like to see but probably won't (HDMI out) so it "could" work like a portable AppleTV but also MIRROR any application and a built in USB Port. Most of the other improvements I would like to see are software based such as wireless syncing and not needing it to be activated via computer.

These may be snippets of, but in all of the original quotes, the OP never listed a single of these missing features. It took about 80 posts until someone mentioned one of these mysterious limitation (just the camera).

Now it just lacks lots of the features and specs that the iPhone does have
Obviously, but on the other hand... it pretty much is, just a very very stripped down version of it.
The other one being also very stripped down version of the other one.
otherwise it´s just a very stripped down version of the iPhone
Now it´s just a very crippled device.

Quality :D

I have tested it and researched thoroughly about it of course and that was my conclusion.
What can you do better with iPad (besides playing those childish games)? Please enlighten me...
I think you've got the wrong understanding of the words: tested, researched and thoroughly.
Please think before you ask "not so wise" questions.
Gotcha!
You learn new things everyday. ;)
Lets hope so.

I haven't read this entire thread because it seems like nothing but nonsense fighting, but I don't see why the Ipad needs something the iphone doesn't have. Why would Apple intentionally make one of their products "better" or more "special" than another? Some people think the Ipad is a waste, but there are millions of people who do not have iphones, duh! There are loads of people who don't have laptops - the ipad may be great for them and doesn't need anything that that iphone doesn't have in order to sell. I'm sure when Apple makes products they don't assume everyone has an iphone or itouch or whatever. If I didn't already have a macbook pro and an iphone, I'd probably get a n ipad. A friend of mine doesn't have either and they think the ipad is the best thing ever -it's perfect for them.

My next swimming pool needs to have something special that the my bathtub doesn´t have ...besides the bigger size of course, but that´s not enough for the money. It needs to have something special, something that my bathtub doesn't have.

That's what I read when I saw the original post. Sometimes size creates function.

What I think we have here is an insecure puppy who after a lot of ranting and raving finally got an iPhone - only to be hammered by the antenna issue, and other iphone 4 tidbits (check his post history) that he now has to somehow belittle the other device his heart truly desires simply to abate his own hopes of getting his hands on an ipad after mummy and daddy said no! ;)

Yup, I may get an iPad 3G (alongside my iPhone 4) just because of this thread.

(I really would get one, but I'm waiting for the next revision)

I can give you endless list of good meaningful music and endless list of crap music for neanderthals, but that´s a whole different thread.

Hahhaha.

You could not have chosen a better example. I play piano. Moonligth sonata is one of my favorites. Infact a recording of it is on my ipad right now.

However, my brother, who is into bands such as metallica, thinks I am insane for spending so much time learning to play songs from "the middle ages".

We all take what we want from music. The fact that you do not take anything from somebody elses music does not mean that you are the only point of view worth considering.

I listen to music which relaxes me. My brother listens to music because he wants it to pump him up.

Which of us are wrong?

I also note that you are now just ignoring entire posts and then picking out a random quote. If you are not going to actually form a debate properly then you really are nothing more then a troll.

Yup, I checked his history too, and his whining about the iPad bagan on January 28th. He predicted complete and total failure and very few sales. He's a genius.

You people don´t still understand one very important point and lesson in life. It doesn´t necessarily is a product good, if it sells a lot. Lots and lots of examples.

I read your post before you edited it out. Obviously i did not open your eyes because you did not read the entire conversation nor did you look at my signature which blatantly reveals that I own an iPhone.

And just for clarification, I currently own two iPhone 3G's, two iPhone 3Gs's, one iPhone 4' one wifi iPad and one 3G iPad.

Perhaps it is you sir who are the idiot.

And sometimes a product is great and sells a lot too, such as the iPad.

Stop trying to school people. You have a lot to learn about having a rational and logical discussion. You also have a lot to learn about debate. And grammar. You are focusing on several side comments instead of focusing on your original post and point. It's been illustrated to you how the devices differ and why they differ. You haven't countered once with anything of value. Instead you've been taking pot shots at people.

So to paraphrase "you don't still [sic] understand one very important point and lesson in life. It doesn't necessarily is a good [sic] post just because there are a lot of useless side comments instead of responding/debating the actual facts."

Actually I quoted the wrong post, therefore I edited it.

But you sure showed me who's boss.

(and as per YOUR actual post... you certainly aren't materialistic. )

And really? your sig blatantly reveals what exactly?
"Current view on the world: 3.5", 9.7", 17", 27" "

christ dude. act high and mighty somewhere where it matters. not from the computer in your moms basement.

You quoted the wrong post while referencing what I said? You went after exactly what I said.

And as per the not reading the conversation still. I am in no delusion about materialism. All of my posts about the iPhone being materialistic are in fact poking fun at the fact at the topic starter who rallied against materialistic people while indulging in a bit of it himself with the iPhone...

High and mighty? I really should have copied your post before you deleted it. Haha.

Priceless. Hahahahaha! :D

Kinda like this: http://www.beersteak.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/02/get-a-brain-morans-go-usa.jpg

I have only been focusing on the side comments, because people keep bringing them up. I have been many times trying to get the original message of this thread going, but I guess people are so insecure with their iPads, so they can´t take any criticism about it, therefore they can not think anything that would make it a better product and more separate product from the iPhone. (Which is the whole point of this thread).

Why should the people who love the device need to think up ways to improve it when you, someone who "sees" it's major flaws cannot even do it.
