Just bought myself a black 32GB as my 4S is on its last legs. Is there a decent guide for switching from iOS to Android anywhere? I've had a N7 for a while so I'm pretty up to speed with Android in general.

Eric Schmidt (Google's chairman) has a guide :), and I think it's a good one.

I found the phone a little to light and thin without a case as well. I picked up the Spigen Slim Armor and it provides the perfect amount of size and weight to the phone. Excellent protection as well.

Yeah. My problem is that it feels fragile because it's so light. I feel like it's gonna fall any moment.

I recommend this $10 case by Ditztronic. Doesn't really add any bulk, is real light and very well made.

I like it a lot better than Google's bumper case and any Spigen case.

That looks good too. It's great to see the Nexus 5 has so many quality cases.

I gave up my Nexus 5 back before they camera and software updates... has the speaker volume/ clarity gotten a lot better or just marginally better? Considering a switch back. Aside from the poor speaker quality (and Google now hoarding the left of my home page) I didn't mind it at all.

Im a little digusted with how complex basic things are on the nexis 5, like copying and pasting text from an email. You have to hit reply then copy and paste it with the phone only on landscape. Uhhhh.

Also, for the love of god, i still cant get basic images to send via sms. Not only does it take forever, but it never goes through! Why cant my phone send pics?! So fristrating

No you dont. You just hold down on what text you want to copy and the sliders show up and you move them where you want to copy. I havent had any problems sending a pic via Hangouts either. Strange that some are having these issues.

The big issue i have with the stock email client is that it doesnt make a link in the email such as from this forum so i can go to this thread from there. Hate that and it forces me to use the Yahoo mail app if i want use the link in a email.

Works now for the copying text from email, but the other day no matter what i tried, the stupid phone wouldnt give me that option. I was about to throw my phone out my window, it was so frustrating,

I know some people never turn their phone off but it is a good idea to do that sometimes. It resets things if your having an issue. Dont know if you leave your on all the time but my Wife does. Im about 50-50.

The Nexus 5 screen is beautiful, even next to my Dell IPS display, but it's just too freaking big to carry around with me all day in my pocket. I'm really impressed with how accurate the colors are on this compared to the Nexus 4 and the G2.

I've decided to return the Nexus 5 and get the iPhone 5S. I wasn't planning to do contracts or iPhones anymore, but I want something small to carry around with me, and the iPhone is honestly the best phone at it's size. I may get a Nexus 7 so I can still have the Android 4.4 experience.

I decided to give the Nexus 5 one more chance and see if I could get used to carrying it. The second time around I felt the same way. I'm not sure that it is necessarily the size of the phone that bothers me, but rather the shape of it. Being flat and square makes it very awkward to hold. It is the most uncomfortable device I've ever held. It is just a poorly designed phone, ergonomically.

I think the iPhone is too small. The N5 just feels like the sweet spot. Without a case I can't hold the iPhone. I don't think I would need to case the N5.

Yeah, the iPhone is small. The Moto X is the sweet spot for me. It has a large screen and is still comfortable to hold.

Got a chance to play with the Nexus 5 over the weekend and was astonish why the Chrome browser can't swipe left and right to navigate between web pages. Easy access to the back button but to go forward I have to press the "..." Button and click forward.

Other than that, I like the phone.

Totally agree. I think the bezels are a big issue. Here is what I wrote for another thread and think it applies here:

Also, I'm glad the screen on the Nexus 5 isn't larger. If they made it larger, they would need to rearrange the bezels a bit. I am 6'3 with large hands (can easily palm a basketball) and for one handed use it is already too big. But I also think it is mainly because of the bad bezels.

Take the Moto X for example. I had one for a little over a week and I loved it. The screen size was only a tiny bit smaller than the Nexus 5 (4.7 vs 4.95). But as a whole, the devices feel world's different in the hand, and that is because of the bezels. The Moto X has one small bezel and one larger one, like the Nexus 5. But on the Nexus 5, the big bezel is on bottom. This essentially pushes all your content higher up and further away from your thumb making you stretch and strain more to hit top corners. The Moto X has its small bezel on the bottom, bringing all content closer to your thumb.

When you use the Nexus 5 upside down (gravity box let's me do this), the screen feels much better because when I tap on things at the top of the screen, it is closer to my thumb and I don't have to stretch as much. So there is a huge difference in feel of the phone without changing the screen size at all. It is all because of the bezels. And I think LG was stupid to put the big bezel on the bottom. It is pointless and just pushes your content further away. Motorola did a better job with it.

Also, I naturally want to turn my device in landscape counter clockwise (this way the nav buttons stay on the same edge). Doing so on a Moto X makes landscape typing symmetrical, or at least close. Doing so on a Nexus 5 pushes your keyboard towards your left hand forcing you to stretch and strain your right hand more. I just think Motorola thought it through more. If the Nexus 5 were to have a bigger screen, they would need to do it the right way.

This is a real head scratcher to me, but to each their own.

The only phones I can think of that do that are phones now running IOS 7.

I agree. I have never held it and thought it felt awkward. I prefer a smaller phone, but it still feels just fine. I think the s4 feels better for a phone with the same screen size, but the HTC one feels worse IMO.

I scratched my head wondering how people like it. It's a flat slab. The Moto X is curved to sit perfectly in the hand. Everyone has different preferences. I'm frustrated only because I really want the Nexus but I want it to be the size of the Moto X. Every year flagship devices get bigger and bigger. I read that the Galaxy S5 is going to be 5.25". If this trend continues I'll be stuck using low-end phones.

Okay, first weird thing happened today.

Woke up and my Nexus 5 didn't turn on. Turns out battery was at 0%, but when I went to sleep it was at 89% and I had everything turned off: Wi-Fi, BT, airplane mode, sync off, brightness at 40%, etc.

Only thing I did yesterday was installed some new apps (one of them Google Translate).

What could have caused this? Can an app take 89% of battery in one night? Even if airplane mode was activated?

This has never happened before on any of my other Android devices (SGS3, Nexus 10 and 7).

The apps are themer beta, nds4droid, power toggles, tap tap tap and digical.

That's why I'm pretty geeked up about the inevitable release of the Xperia Z1 mini. A real "mini" device with top of the line specs. Samsung and HTC saddled their "mini" versions with inferior interiors/exteriors.
One of many links regarding the subject:

I actually find it very comfortable and I feel the screen is even smaller than my previous SGS3 (I suppose due to the on screen buttons taking screen). I wish it was 5.2 like the G2.

The Nexus 5 is really small IMO, and I don't like phablets at all.

The Nexus 5 is really uncomfortable by itself. The huge bottom bezel just makes you have to reach further than you should have to. From an ergonomic standpoint, the Nexus 5 falls short.
