Given that Happasaiyan on AC was pretty much bang on, I'll put my eggs in the basket that says the new Nexus phablet is probably gonig to be a 5.9" device. I want a 5.2" but I'm doubtful.

As far as Android L goes, wasn't it already tested that the real world improvement was only about 15% or so?

Report: Motorola Nexus Will Look Like the Whale Version of the Moto X
http://www.droid-life.com/2014/09/2...ale-version-of-the-moto-x/#comment-1605193447

So, what happened there? I think the timeline is shaping up something like this, but some of this is blatant speculation for the purpose of painting a narrative picture.

Q1 2014: LG is working on a Nexus 6, or some kind of Nexus phone successor.
Q1 2014: Android Silver is being built up and gaining momentum inside Google - they want to announce at I/O, maybe ship in fall.
Q2 2014: The LG Nexus 6 is cancelled as Silver continues to evolve, and Google decides it wants to unveil a Silver handset in its place to get the ball rolling.
Q2 2014: Silver begins to stagnate, negotiations with carriers and OEMs aren't going as planned. An I/O announcement, possibly partnered with Motorola to be called "Moto S," (ilver? hamu? Come on, this stuff practically writes itself) is scuttled. Head of business affairs and architect of Silver Nikesh Arora begins to plan his departure from Google.
Q2 2014: Google decides to revive Nexus using Motorola's unannounced Silver handset. Moto S is killed (in branding only), and becomes Nexus 6 (or whatever it will be called).
I/O: Google announces Android "L," Dave Burke emphatically denies rumors of Nexus phones being at an end, as the deal with Motorola proceeds.
I/O: Motorola, having expected to have a product to announce at I/O (perhaps even to have given away to attendees at a later date), instead gets a chance to promote and demo the Moto 360 extensively.
Q4: Nexus phone and tablet launch alongside Android "L."

As to the possibility of Google working on a smaller, second Nexus device? We don't know. There's been no real evidence to suggest this aside from an untrustworthy benchmark score, but Google's not completely incapable of keeping secrets. We'll just have to wait and see, I guess, unless it leaks out in the coming weeks.

It has no Nexus name logo on the back, so maybe it's just a phablet from Motorola, just like the HTC One Max.

I sure hope so. :/

I'm sitting tight on my next phone as I really want a nexus device this go around. If I could have stock on a Note 4 with OTA, it would be a no brainer for me.

Looks like the phone size is very similar to the iPhone 6+. I would definitely pick this up and there is no need for Nexus 7 or iPad Mini.

I agree as I find myself using my N5 more than my tablet and this would be just perfect. I'll keep it however, the iPad mini, just to keep an iOS device and I would still prefer its screen size for a few more things but come November and we shall see.

If they make a 5.9" phone, they turned an already niche product into more of a niche product. Do they actually want to sell more than a few thousand?

This may actually be what pushes me to a moto x. I love my n5 and I just want an improved version. 5.2" max!

No. Nexus 4 was 4th gen nexus. Nexus 5 was 5th generation nexus. But maybe nexus 5 also had 5 inch screen.

Who knows what google is thinking at times.

Gotta say I was holding out for info on N6 before jumping at the Note4, but while in sex 6" + is great, for a mobile phone it's not for me!!!

I think it becomes a micro tablet vs a maxi-phone imo. Even the Note 4 is pushing it for portability and I carry purses!

Mhm, after Nexus 6 they would run into naming problems. Obviously the next one after can't be called Nexus 7 .....

Was gonna pull the trigger on a 6+ until stronger rumors of this started to circulate.

So far i'm liking everything i hear, if its gonna have a 5.92 inch screen but with it only being slightly bigger in dimensions than a iPhone 6+ then you can count me in for one. Got my fingers crossed for a 64gb SKU too knowing a sd card slot will not be on the table.

5.9 sounds glorious. Also I absolutely love the design of the new Moto X. I hope this phone is around 400 dollars.

Even with this photo, the leaked Motorola phone still looks bigger. Large screen phones are fine, if it serves a purpose. Using a Nexus 5 for the past year, I just don't see the benefits stock android has with a screen almost 6" except just to be big. (similar to the iPhone 6 and 6+). I'm leaning towards the Note 4 for this reason.

:confused:What other purpose could there be other than to offer a larger screen?

For me personally, not that i would be against it, but multi window is quite redundant on a 5.5-7" screen.
