So has the XL been discontinued ? It's still not available at BestBuy anymore since December. And Verizon still has it on back order going back to January. The PlayStore teases it, but seems to be on sale for one second then out of stock right away.

When will this phone ( Pixel XL ) be a stock item on store shelves available for pick up same day immediately ? It's shocking that as of March 2017 a phone that was released in October 2016 is missing in action. Super strange weird stuff.

I'll look on Craigslist in my area sometimes for the XL, and it pops up for like $900 to $1,000. Or I'll see the Verizon one selling on CL for like $750. I'll bet you big bucks once the Galaxy S8 and LG G6 are out in stores, this thing will tank in price, and come May, will be selling for much lower.
You can pick up the Google Pixel XL at https://swappa.com/buy/google-pixel-xl-unlocked for a descent price.

I don't think the people buying Pixels are on the market for Samsung's and LG's you pretty much have to want it.

Pixel and Pixel XL owners experiencing failing microphones, Google recommends warranty replacements

http://www.androidpolice.com/2017/0...ones-google-recommends-warranty-replacements/

When the customer threads over on the Google Support Forum start to get hundreds of replies deep, you know there's a serious problem afoot. This one is affecting the Pixel and Pixel XL, and apparently occurring to a large enough subset of owners that Google is taking its response more seriously than the usual bug. Owners are reporting complete failure of one or more of their microphones, sometimes causing a total audio input block.

The bad news is that, since these problems are entirely hardware-based, there's no easy fix. Someone with some basic soldering skills might be able to crack open their phone and fix one of the issues... but there's no reliable way to make sure that actually is the problem, and there you are with a possibly broken phone and a voided warranty. Nope, the best solution at this point is to get a replacement from Google.

The display quality on the pixel is eye popping. And I hope you are listening to music from the headphone output, it is excellent.

Had to change the ppi though, the default just will not do.

Oh goodness, HTC makes these. I thought HTC had pretty good workmanship. My HTC 10 seems really nice.

Are you there now or are the pics from awhile back? If now, have a great time and safe travels. Is that your son? That boy looks so much like you (assuming that you in your avatar).

Exactly why I bought one even though I was warned about buying a "first gen" phone from a good friend. My reply was that HTC makes solid devices. My original Pixel had the microphone issue and my replacement is showing signs like it may have the issue as well. The microphone will randomly not work then will work again, very intermittent. Could be software or could be hardware, no idea but a restart usually fixes it. The first one went out in about two months and the replacement one is about two months old now.

Due to these issues I picked up an iPhone 7 over the weekend as the microphone issues are kind of unprofessional when making work related calls as I work in IT.

Google needs to give you your money back, you've had nothing but problems since you bought one IIRC.

The microphone issue is hardware I believe, I'd even heard of the previous Nexus having hardware trouble too in regards to the microphone. Have you contacted them on this issue?

I wish you well with your iPhone 7. My husband and I have had intermittent problems with call quality on ours and we do not have the allegedly problematic Intel modems. Something happens that causes our words to mash and garble together in some calls and we have to terminate the call and start over until we get a clear connection. My daughter's teacher's iPhone is doing the same thing. I don't know which model she has.

I actually get my best call quality on my HTC 10 or my S7. The iPhone 7 Pluses aren't horrible, it's just a weird intermittent thing that I've not yet experienced with my Samsungs or my HTC10.

For what it's worth, I thought call quality was pretty bad with the pixel. Multiple times the other person couldn't hear me. Now that I think about it maybe I had microphone issues with mine too.

I've asked both Verizon and Google, they will not. But you are correct I have had a lot of issues and that is why I picked up the iPhone 7. I still really like the Pixel and will probably keep it as a backup device. It just isn't stable enough for me to use as a primary device.

I can't speak in regards to the Nexus issue as I'm not too familiar with those. But you are probably correct with it being a hardware issue. I know that my first one had to be replaced, but my second replacement it seems to be fine after a restart of the phone. Since I'm no longer using it as my primary device, I may request another replacement.

Thank you, so far in the 3 days I've been on the iPhone 7 I've had zero issues with calls. No dropped calls (which were common on the Pixel for me) and no microphone issues at all either. That is interesting there about the call quality, I haven't experienced any of that on either the Pixel or the iPhone 7; although occasionally on the Pixel callers would randomly cut in and out, fortunately haven't had this issue on the iPhone 7.

Yep, sometimes the other person reports they can't hear me and in 30-45 seconds it clears up or I have to call them back. If that doesn't work then a restart of the device seems to fix it. You may have had the hardware microphone issue as well.
