Can anyone tell me uk prices or any euro price where it's available.

Due to geo location tracking I can not check here as I am automatically directed to Irish store and we don't have it.

So if someone can share, please do.

Also when is actual release in UK ?

A Finnish site reports the German prices as follows (we don't have it here either):
  • Pixel 32 GB: 759 €
  • Pixel 128 GB: 869 €
  • Pixel XL 32 GB: 899 €
  • Pixel XL 128 GB: 1 009 €
I missed the part where they told why exactly I should pay iPhone 7 prices for something that lacks water resistance and OIS.

For some it's worth the price because it's NOT an iPhone or a Galaxy

Does this help? Just add £100 for the 128GB on each. All deliver in 2-3 weeks.

Yes that's possible. Not for me, though. I have an iPhone 6s and a Nexus 5X and I'll be getting a Note 7. Won't be getting this one, though. Vanilla Android on top notch hardware would be nice, but with that price I'd rather get water resistance and longer update support together with OIS. Then again, if the Pixel had been water resistant and dual-SIM with otherwise similar specs, I'd be all over it.

I'll probably just wait until the hype is over and get a used or refurb version

Are the phones waterproof?

They’re water resistant, and our partners are offering waterproof cases.

Video stabilization via the gyroscope isn't chump either:

Google has added a new gyroscope-based video stabilization system that reads gyro data 200 times a second for smoother panning and shake-free handheld recording.

Thanks for prices folks ... I really like the fact the 5" isn't a cutdown version of its sibling but those prices are iPhone prices and sadly Google's resale value doesn't hold anything like an iPhones does so I will hold off until Google do one of their sale periods ... €650 for the 5" 128 and I would buy ... €700 a consideration ... €869 and the same reason I'm not buying an iPhone 7 comes into play.

The new Sony camera sensor on this looks amazing. Laser AF in addition to PDAF. HDR shots now with less lag than the iphone.

Well, proper waterproof cases would be a first for the Nexus range. So far I've seen just fancier ziploc bags available. But anyway, after using Lifeproof and Catalyst cases for a few years, I think I'm done with all that extra bulk they add. I'd rather have the phone itself handle the water and have a less bulky case to provide grip and take care of drops.

Not impressed at all. Yes, the SD 821 is the newest and fastest chip but it's only a 10 % performance increase according to Arstechnica so I highly doubt it will make a big difference in everyday usage.

2 colors on the back? WTF
The bezels are almost Iphonelike big and given that this phone still doesn't use! a notification LED there is no reason for wasting so much space.
No OIS
Not waterproof/resistant
No micro sd card slot
I may be in the minority but wheter it's Android or IOS I just don't are about VR it's still in it's early stage and other than a more refined Vive I don't see anything getting my interest in that regard.

To me the phone looks cheap....I'm sure it's very well built but it just doesn't scream premium from the looks of it and that pricetag are you ****ing kidding me? € 899 for the Pixel XL with a storage of only 32 gigabyte? That's insane.

The S8 is going to wipe the floor with this thing for sure.

edit: thanks for clarification it has a headphone jack at least that is nice

Realistically it'll probably add no real world performance in comparison to most modernish smart phones. I really doubt I'd see significant gains in day to day performance compared to even my 805. Phones are like modern Intel chips you have to be at the bleeding edge to notice a difference between 2xxx and 6xxx

So Jon from Technobuffalo says the screen is on par with Samsung's. if that is true, that is pretty outstanding. Still not worth iPhone prices, but much better then expected. Says it's the best screen on nexus (now pixel) phone.

Little dissapointed the 5" is 1080p. Whilst yes it's higher than the iPhone the fact it's AMOLED and therefore pentile with the same sub-pixel arrangement, means it'll likely only be as sharp as the 4.7" iPhone currently despite increased resolution.

I would at €800+ preferred the 5" to have 1440p AMOLED or 1080p LCD instead ...

It could still be a very nice display, just stating my preference given the stiffer competition it has in the Android marketplace with devices half it's cost ...

It's already been said that the phone doesn't have these features.

Not sure your definition of water resistant, but it is water resistant. That is a fact.

And we have to wait and see how the image stabilization compares to true OIS. Depending on the quality, it could easily be just as good.

DXO says:
With very impressive stabilization, accurate autofocus, and generally good quality, the Pixel produces excellent video under most conditions. Its Video score of 88 is tied with the Samsung Galaxy S7 and the Sony Xperia X for the highest ever achieved.

If I was in the market for a high end smart phone I'd probably pick this one but I'm not sooo I'll just install Nougat and the pixel lanuncher and pretend :)

I was actually hoping for a google branded smart watch since I've been itching for some sleep tracking so I guess I'll pick up a Moto instead

So in keeping with my username I got on ebay and ordered a refurb warrantied moto360 1st gen for $70..:D

I agree with you. It does seem to be a bit of a disappointment. I don't understand the corner cutting when your charging $800 for a phone. It should blow the last nexus phones out of the water, and for sure keep up with the Samsung's.

Point is it IS water resistant and has image stabilization. Bunch of whiners on the internet.

Apparently the phones are IP53 -- pretty much what every normal phone has been for years -- and water resistance is not something listed in the official specs for that reason. I'd be very concerned going back to something less than what I have now (IP68). I often use my phone while standing out in the rain without concern for the device. I'm not willing to give that up.

For video I have never seen EIS that is as good as OIS. Even on the S7 if you turn on the additional digital stabilization the picture is actually worse, and cropped. You lose focal length when recording video with software stabilization. On the S7 if you turn off EIS you still have the OIS to help stabilize it.

Not going to argue with you look at all the techsites it's been stated that it isn't so if you still don't believe it, tough luck for you.

First time I've read about a "video score" benchmark
