Really? After you take a screengrab with power + down-volume button?

Hm. My Pixel doesn't seem to do this. Is there something I'm missing? Settings? I have to go to "Device folder" or "albums" in order to see it.

I can confirm any screenshots or downloaded images go straight to my main gallery area in Google Photos on my Pixel.

Anyone experiencing an issue with charging? Occasionally when I plug in to charge, it will fluctuate between charging and not charging. In order to fix this I have to reboot the device and then it's perfectly fine. This usually happens anywhere between 3-6 days of uptime, can't seem to get more than that. I'm hoping the December patch that released today might fix this; since a reboot fixes this I don't think it's a hardware issue.

I've got 14 days of uptime and have not had that problem.

====

We've heard from quite a few people that have issues I wonder if it's a difference between 32 and 128 or XL v Pixel

Question for the UK folk..
If I buy a used Pixel XL.. will the warranty transfer over or stay with the original purchaser?
OR is it like the Apple products.. i.e. serial number related or do we need original receipt of purchase?
Any feedback would be much appreciated.. as there is an used XL for sale that is very tempting! :)
I am assuming Google will handle all warranty claims as it is a pure Google phone unlike the Nexii which the respective manufacturers dealt with?
Cheers.

I have this problem, it seems to be only when I charge with the USB-C to USB-C cable in the official power brick. If I use the USB-C to USB-A in an Apple/Samsung brick it works no problem.

The problem I have is when plugged in sometimes it does nothing or sometimes it goes from charging to not charging, if I wiggle the cable at the phone end it starts charging again... Very weird.

I am installing the update now so will let you know if it fixes the problem.

Well, apparently I'm still on the October patch with a Tmobile sim on the BB model. You guys know how to side load the OTA november patch for the BB model?

I should have specified in my first post that I am also using the USB-C to USB-C cable with the official power brick as well. I've tried wiggling the cable and just letting it sit there but nothing except a reboot seems to fix it for me. So far so good with the new patch, but it hasn't been my usual 3-6 days of uptime so it's still early to tell. Hopefully this will fix it, but I'm glad that I am not the only one experiencing this.

Please keep us up to date after 6 days. Curious to know more about this myself for my father's pixel. Hopefully update fixes it.

DT2W in the 7.1.1 update is great and silver one of my minor niggles (easier unlocking on a desk or in a car mount).

Raise to wake is also a nice addition for those that make use of it. No obvious impact on battery life after using it for a day but need to monitor it for longer.

Unfortunately the newest update didn't help, it took 2 attempts to get my phone charging last night... I might just have to use the USB-C to USB-A cable instead.

I love it, I haven't noticed any speed difference while I have been using it exactly the same as I would my iPhone 7.

Update: Just plugged my Pixel in to charge using the USB-C to USB-C cable with the official power brick that came with the phone, had the same issue where it would fluctuate from charging to not charging. I attempted to unplug and then plug the cable back in with the same result (did this a few times actually). I then tried the USB-C to USB-A cable and it immediately started charging with no issue. I let it charge for approximately 5-10 minutes and then tried the USB-C to USB-C again, and this time it worked fine. So, this is a slight workaround without having to reboot the phone for me. This occurred at probably 40 hours of uptime. Not sure what is going on but I don't think this is a hardware issue. I'll see if I can work with Google support and submit any logs that may help them track down why this is occurring.

Thanks @epicrayban it is definitely an odd issue. Hopefully your father's Pixel won't have this issue. Mine did this within a week of having it but I was traveling so I wasn't able to deal with it and figured a reboot every 3-6 days isn't the worst thing for a device.

I contacted Google support through the settings app and was immediately connected to a chat representative. I explained the issue along with the workarounds (reboot or using the USB-C to USB-A cable) and he said he discussed with an expert and the expert suggested to have the device replaced. I'm following another site on this issue and a user there has already received a replacement for this issue, but the replacement device still has the same issue. So I opted to not get a replacement now as I can just use workarounds and hope that Google can fix this in an update. Because other than this charging issue, my phone is otherwise great and I'd hate to get a replacement that fixes this issue but has a different issue.

I should probably clarify that by contacting support my intention wasn't to get a replacement device, but rather to provide logs from the phone to pass along to the QA/Dev team to see if they would be able to determine why this is occurring and hopefully resolve in a future monthly update. However, it was very nice of Google to offer that!

It's odd how we have the same issue but the fix is different, I tried again last night and simply wiggling the cable makes the phone start charging immediately. If it becomes a bigger problem I will just use the USB-C to USB-A cable instead as like you I don't want to risk a replacement having other issues as mine is otherwise perfect.

So.... Had my Pixel since Tuesday and have been putting it through usual tests and everyday usage.

1) The data transfer via cable didn't work!! It wouldn't transfer anything from S7 Edge to the Pixel. Tried for ages with multiple cables. Gave up in the end and restored via Google but it wasn't ideal.

2) Build quality is excellent. Speaker is better than S7 Edge, much more clarity and bass! Feels wonderful in hand.

3) Must admit those bezels are just a touch too big, and I'm not sure if the screen size is a touch too small. People always forget but iPhones and Samsungs have physical home buttons, so 5.5" is actually 5.5". On this, the on-screen buttons cut away.

4) DPI is a bit aggressive - or my eyesight is getting worse!

5) Android feels incredible on this, BUT I have to say there are a few Samsung features I'm missing already. Always On screen with the time is the perfect alarm clock on my bedside table. Download Booster is a HUGE loss. I love waving my hand over the screen to wake it up and see if there are any specific notifications. Do Not Disturb is a million times easier on Samsung, the Pixel is such a faff. Pixel Quick Settings swipe down doesn't include Screen Brightness which is frustrating. Double tapping Home button on S7 to launch camera is a lot easier than the side button Pixel. Battery Percentage indicator is actually visible (Pixel's way is insane)!!

6) The S7 Edge design is clearly superior, Samsung are well ahead, even if there are the odd touch issues etc. I'd like a Pixel XL screen, but it would feel too big in hand, like the iPhone 7 Plus.

7) I do like the Pixel launcher and I'm using Assistant a fair bit (also app drawer swipe up is awesome!). Long tap is really useful, love it, hopefully more apps get in on it ASAP. Although the swipe left Google Now Launcher really needs revision, Google (and that always used to be my first choice of launcher for 2 years).

In summary, I'm completely on the fence. 50/50 straight down the line. Long-term, yes, I can see that Pixel will get better and better (Pixel 2 will be my next phone, I'm sure). But this has already made me realise just how amazing the S7 actually is. Both are amazing!

I'm giving it til Monday and will decide then! How is everyone else finding it?

Has anyone switched from a 6/6S/7 Plus to a Pixel (non XL)? Did the screensize feel like a huge downgrade? How is it compared to a non-plus iPhone?

I played with a Pixel XL at Best Buy yesterday and yup, same screen size as my 6S+. There wasn't a regular Pixel on display to try out. I would never downgrade to a non-plus iPhone as I find the screen too small, but I'm not sure I want to pay an extra $120 for the XL, not to mention the fact they're impossible to find. With the Pixel sitting somewhere between the non-plus and plus iPhones in screen size, I'm curious to see how it is.

Personally, I love the 5" screen size. That's my happy medium. Perfectly usable for viewing content/games, etc. and perfectly usable in one hand. In fact, the Pixel is one of the most comfortable smartphones I've held. For example, gesture-typing with one hand while on the subway? The Pixel is lovely.

While the top/bottom bezels are larger than they should be, the overall ergonomic and actual size of the device is sublime.

As for your specific preference, I think going from a 5.5" to a 5" screen will be felt. It may be a big adjustment. You will love the ergonomics and smaller footprint, but may not find the actual 5" enough.

If Google wants to get serious about the premium space with premium priced hardware, they have to up their supply game. Hopefully Pixel XL's become more available.

Why is it so hard to change this phone to vibrate only? Where is the simple toggle for sound/vibration? Like the one in Touchwiz. Do not disturb doesn't seem to have a "set to vibrate only" option, does it?

Some things about Google's decisions are seriously questionable. And if there's no solution other than, press the volume down hardware key, and if it's not on the correct sound profile while you're doing that, you have to pull down the menu to get to the sliders, if that's the only way, it's downright idiotic.

Totally agree, there are bizarrely counterproductive decisions all over the shop.

But I'm slowly tilting towards the Pixel side, let's see how I go by Sunday!
