I assume it feels much better to hold than the N6

Yeah by a mile. I know it's only a few mil less wide but it's a significant difference to ergonomics. The N6 was too wide for me. This feels as nice in the hand even with the TPU Case as the 6S+, Moto X Style, Note 5/Edge+ :)

I think I'm coming to my senses :) I'll wait a few more weeks and hope that CPW (UK) have some decent Black Friday deals with the 6P. If they don't , then no big deal. I can wait , and perfectly happy with the 6s+ for now :)

Battery impressions.

So I charged device whilst installing my apps and took it off charge when finished installing them.

I took it off at around 85% charged. I am now down to 48% battery and have 2hr 40mins screen on time. That's pretty awesome battery so far. Very promising.

Memory management is frickin AMAZING!!

uploadfromtaptalk1446159091502.png

53 apps used in last 12 hours and my average memory usage is 1.2-1.3gb

Samsung for the love of God TAKE NOTE!!

Also .... Fingerprint reader has been 99.99% accurate & fast and whilst I was hesitant of it being on the back. I now love its placement. The Nexus carbon case works & feels great.

VERY HAPPY CAMPER so far. :)

By Jesus.

My Samsung memory practically runs out if I shoot it a casual glance from across the room.

Yep!!! And I've hardly been taking it lightly. Ran games like Angry Birds 2, scrolled through my entire Google photos library letting it generate thumbnails for thousands of pics, loads of twitter & Facebook. Messing with snapseed editing photos and such.

Essentially I've not given it an easy time and yet my total average memory used is nearly 50% less than just the system memory portion of my Samsung devices stood still.

Crazy...

I am half tempted to change my 2015 MBA for sale post to a for trade for a 6p and cash

Or hell sell my MBA and buy the 6p. I dont ever buy the new phone, this is tempting me more than the new Moto X did

Isn't that the opposite? Unused RAM is useless RAM. Of course not everything can be used for caching and whatnot and it depends a lot on what the memory usage represents.

Any camera impressions folks? Specifically shutter speed and of things that move suddenly and quickly (kids, dogs, etc). Too many reviews tend to focus on static scenes or landscapes.

For those hoarding devices, comparisons with the usual suspects would be great.

I'm 99% certain I'll be annoyed by the size but could always return it. Seems to tick all the boxes otherwise.

I'll test today. It was near pitch black out when the courier arrived yesterday

I have my phone being delivered today but I am going to return it after seeing a bend test. I know people think they are stupid but it was the worst ive ever seen.

Fair enough.

Still holding on to my 6s Plus for the moment. I can wait a few more weeks for more reviews to come through.

Never would have expected it. That phone looks so rigid.
I'm cynical of ALL of these YouTube testers. They actually want there to be a negative reaction / controversy in the end result, as they know it drives up their view count and hence subsequent revenue from that.

They are not making these videos for the benefit of average joe out of their sheer benevolence.

I suspect the device was tampered with in order to create such a reaction and the screen cracking was actually from that meddling rather than just from a screen scratch test.

These devices have to go through a lot of stress tests in the manufacturing plant and holding the Nexus 6P here right now it feels just as well built and sturdy as any of my devices i have bought this year. I have NO worries over it's durability.

I suspect we have another unbox-therapy style manipulation to generate subscribers and ad revenue here - pure and simple. Unbox-therapy reportedly made over $60,000 from the iPhone bendgate video scandal. These videos are manipulative and should NOT be taken on face value. They are carefuly edited and driven by a motivation to create revenue from the inevitable controversy / fallout.
