I suspect we have another unbox-therapy style manipulation to generate subscribers and ad revenue here - pure and simple. Unbox-therapy reportedly made over $60,000 from the iPhone bendgate video scandal. These videos are manipulative and should NOT be taken on face value. They are carefuly edited and driven by a motivation to create revenue from the inevitable controversy / fallout.

indeed. I agree.

a £500 Nexus is nothing when you can generate much more revenue by generating publicity and views like this :)

BTW Black 6P out of stock on Google UK. Good job too. Stops me buying it for the moment :)

I'm cynical of ALL of these YouTube testers. They actually want there to be a negative reaction / controversy in the end result, as they know it drives up their view count and hence subsequent revenue from that.

They are not making these videos for the benefit of average joe out of their sheer benevolence.

I suspect the device was tampered with in order to create such a reaction and the screen cracking was actually from that meddling rather than just from a screen scratch test.

These devices have to go through a lot of stress tests in the manufacturing plant and holding the Nexus 6P here right now it feels just as well built and sturdy as any of my devices i have bought this year. I have NO worries over it's durability.

Could not agree with you more MRU. These test are so stupid, and they prove nothing. We have no idea what they have done to get the phone to do this. Normal use will never create this kind of result.

How about these YouTube channels actually give us some content that is useful. That might not get as many views.

That video looked super fake.

I've read at least a couple of reviews that said they actually tried bending the 6P and it was super solid.

Although as far as the iPhone 6 Plus bendgate story goes, that was real. I know someone that had to get 2 units replaced, it genuinely was a huge problem that forced Apple to redesign the 6S Plus.

I really hope this video is fake. I sat out on the iPhone 6 because I just believe a premium phone should have a certain level of durability. Other videos are showing that this phone is pretty difficult to bend and there has yet to be anyone showing bending in normal real world usage yet.

Nothing in this test is valid. If you're that fickle, return your device so someone else can get in line.

I hear the arguments that the glass in already damaged, but unboxtherapy tested the iphone 6s casing alone and that thing was sturdy as hell compared to the 6. Here is looks like the 6p crumbles like a chocolate bar. That is not being fickle, that is just expecting premium parts that are available to be used in a premium device. They said this was "aircraft grade" aluminum, but they never specified, which already was a concern.

Verge and others are saying that there is something fishy about this video and the phone is sturdy. So again, I hope that is true. For a phone this size, bending should be a concern for the user. Especially if it is actually as easy to do as this video portrays.

Told you the first fella had manipulated it ;)

Nexus 6P's are like busses. Friend just text me to offer me the aluminium colour version in exchange for my Samsung Note 5. I'm going to do it and then decide which P I prefer colour wise and keep that one ....

I'm literally insane.

How's the battery life been so far? That thing has a huge battery. Is it too soon to know?

Bout same as the Note 5 & S6 Edge + :)

I'm at 48% and been off charge since 11pm last night and have 2hr48mins OST so far. Based on that I should break the 5 hour SOT figure.

Hmmm....for stock and with a bigger battery and memory management, you would think it would last alot longer?

Still annoys me that these phones cost 40% more in the UK than in the USA when the Nexus 6 cost only 15% more.

Idiots trying to bend the latest phones as they're released. The overwhelming majority of buyers would never subject their phone to such stress. Some will do anything for more YouTube views. Sad little people.

This. How any moron could bend their phone is beyond me. You stick it in your back pocket and sit on it? If someone is enough of a moron to do this, they better accept the consequences instead of crying on the internet. What did people do when phones were made out of plastic?

Back on topic, you guys with your 6p's post some pics of the phone itself!!! In particular I'd like to see the black one. Bonus points for picturing it next to a 6s+.

I just got my 6P! Cool device. Comparing the screen quality to my Edge +, the 6P seems to be a step beneath it. I am not sure what magic Samsung put in their screens, but I still haven't seen screens as good as the Note 5/Edge+. But the 6P screen is definitely better than the Nexus 6.
