We have candy. Well, at least marshmallows.just seen someone using this phone in 'the wild'.
Droooooool
Must. Resist
I have the 6P, wife has the rMB. I'll let you know if I can connect.looks like I can only get the nexus protect had I purchased the nexus device from the google store, which I didn't (rather I got it on contract) - stinks cause I wanted to purchase the protection
does anyone use any cases for it? any recommendations?
Also - another question, does anyone with a 6P also have a 12" retina Macbook? If so, how do you find using the USB C for both the phone and the laptop?
Cheers
Did you use android file transfer ?I have the 6P, wife has the rMB. I'll let you know if I can connect.
Edit: So, I hooked up my phone to my wife's rMB (El Cap). I was able to transfer photos to the OS X Photos app. I was having trouble with the file transfer, but I didn't try very hard.
I'm an Android old-timer. I'm not sure what the heck that isDid you use android file transfer ?
Also, I may have some lollipops. And half a kit kat.We have candy. Well, at least marshmallows.
Google android file transfer. It's the official google app to allow you to do file transfers on MacI'm an Android old-timer. I'm not sure what the heck that is
The reviews from "experts" have been lukewarm, but when you get right down to it, it compares extremely well to the Nexus 5. In fact the Nexus 5X is faster and has a much more competitive camera than the Nexus 5 did. Go for it.Reading about the 5X in other forums, people adore this device.
I might be getting it as a gift for someone.
Android File Transfer - It's improved but not by much ...I went ahead and got the Nexus 5X (32GB/Carbon) from B&H yesterday once I found out the Google store charges sales tax and can turn a 5X into a $465 device. $429 free shipping and no tax plus an included glass screen protector sold it for me. I had no idea they even had them.
Now I just need to figure out what to do with my 6 Plus and Apple Watch. I would go back to my Pebble but it died from water damage ironically. I suppose I'll keep it till I'm sure that I love the 5X or else go with the 6P. I'm actually using a BlackBerry Z10 in the meantime while my 6 Plus is for sale in the marketplace.
I'm thinking I'll love it though since my absolute favorite phone (that I still have and use) is the HTC Droid Incredible from April 2010. Got it the day it came out and didn't upgrade for two and a half years. Built like a tank and the plastic absorbs most impacts. Never used a case on it either. Small, lightweight and the exact opposite of my 6 Plus
And Android file transfer, that thing... Anyone using it at the moment? I had it crash quite often since ICS came out and I had to use it with my GSIII/M8/Moto X etc. Mostly long transfers over 2GB or thousands of files at once copying music or photos. It would hang and crash. Maybe it's been improved in the last year.

So I was getting bout 4 hours screen on time with 15 hours usage (not as good as I expected). So I decided to try out greenify for the first time. I placed apps that I don't need immediate notifications from such as twitter, IG, games, yelp, gasbuddy, maps, etc. I moved from 4 hours SOT with 5% left to currently 3 hours SOT with 51% left and 11 hours usage.
Does this app work miracles?
Depending on what apps you use and choose to greenify, yes Greenify can be very amazing. Android apps can misbehave and greenify slaps them all back in line Greenify, along with app ops (no xposed) or xprivacy (for xposed) (or marshmallows permissions manager - havent tried 6.0 yet) are my favorite android utilities
its xposed/boost mode is even more amazing. You can make it allow GCM pushes (push notifications) from greenified apps. I still wouldnt greenify your main text & phone app, but I greenify hangouts & my voicemail app for example and still receive all notifications.
I love how well android can run stuff in the background, but that doesnt mean I want all that **** running in the background
Thanks for the info! I am not rooted so I can just imagine how much more it would help. The only apps I want immediate notification from is my emails and whatsapp. So everything else gets tossed into Greenify lol. The only thing I wished was that it automatically hibernates the apps in the list without root. There is an option for it to automatically hibernate without root, but that requires removing my lockscreen.
Ha-ha yes. It was recently updated based on what I've read. Thanks again!Ah! I didnt even realize it works without root, that dev really is a wizard.
Don't try 5x. If you do, you will instinctively start comparing a $375 phone to your $650 iPhone, which is completely unfair comparison. Start with a Nexus 6P, then it will leave a good impression. Is the 5X a good phone to try out if I'm an Apple user? I'm enjoying my 6S but wouldn't mind giving a nexus a try. I just worry about the size. The 6S is already pushing it for me.
Eh, not interested in a phone that big.Don't try 5x. If you do, you will instinctively start comparing a $375 phone to your $650 iPhone, which is completely unfair comparison. Start with a Nexus 6P, then it will leave a good impression.
I say go for the 5X. I loved my N5Eh, not interested in a phone that big.
They're the same size but the 6p has a larger screen.Eh, not interested in a phone that big.
