a better place
My Spigen Rugged Armor case shipped from the German Amazon yesterday. Most likely I'll have the case before I get the phone itself.

Cool. I ordered the thin case, the hybrid and the glass.tr from Amazon but still pending despatch. Looking at Spigen.co.uk their own stock is listed as 30/11/2015

That Glas.tr looks like something I'd need to order at some point too. I went for the Rugged Armor first as it was rather inexpensive, readily available and prevents both the screen and the camera from direct surface contact. Not being as bulky as the name suggests is also a plus.

I'm loving my 6P, way better than the G4 and Note5 that I had before it. No need for a case either, I love having a metal phone.

Why does a metal phone not need a case? If anything it would show damage easier I would think plus the screen will still break

Anybodies Spigen Glas.Tr or cases ship yet ?

I am in USA, I got my Spigen hybrid clear case a couple days ago. Fits well, it came with a couple scratches around the finger print area :/ and it does get a bit slippery if your hands tend to get oily. Apart from that I love it. Seems to offer great protection too.

After using 6P for about a week here are my impressions:

1. Google Now is incredibly useful, and understands what I say from the first try.

2. Consistent bluetooth connection with my car. For some reason iPhones didn't play well with head units of most cars that I owned.

3. I was worried that having a fingerprint sensor on the back of the phone would be a challenge to use in my car, however Android 6 is smart enough that it doesn't require fingerprint or password when connected to a car.

4. Overall I love how snappy and fluid it is compared to my iPhone 6 Plus, which became very very slow after iOS 9 update.

5. Build quality of the phone is excellent and screen is superb. It gives you the same "premium" feel as you get when holding an iPhone.

6. I really really love that I can just drag and drop music and files from my Mac without using iTunes and other kind of BS. On iPhone it's a nightmare to copy music, first you would have open iTunes then choose which music you want to sync, then click "sync" then it will ask that it will erase all previous songs stored on the iPhone because I happened to use a different computer. It's just a nightmare!!! I am really glad that I am done with iTunes for life.

7. Google Photos is awesome! Much better, faster and more reliable than iCloud Photo Library.

Final words: So far i am extremely pleased with Nexus 6P and have no intention to go back to iPhone. I have also switched to Chrome on a Mac so that all passwords and history are synced to my Nexus 6P.

Would the Nexus P be good for someone's first ever smartphone or would they be better off going with something like Touch Wiz?

I haven't used touchwiz in a long time so I can't comment on that. However Nexus 6P is very intuitive for a first timer.

If they have a Google Account, absolutely. I was setting up my mother in law's iPhone and I had forgotten how annoying it was to manage so many accounts.

Congrats! Don't forget to give provide your impressions as well!

Certainly!

I can leave some right now: (within first few hours impressions)

1) this phone is beautiful, excellent build quality. It's been mentioned many times but I love it. Got the graphite colour. It's gorgeous. The hump is not at all the issue I thought it would be. And it's surprisingly slim. Huawei, youve earned my respect.

2) I'm not new to android so I know what to expect, never been one to say iOS or android is better than the other. They're different but at the end of the day accomplish the same things and there are things about each I like. Stock android will always be my preference and this phone reaffirms that. 6.0 is excellent. Very fast and fluid on the 6P. Very fast.

3) been a year since my last droid. And man I missed the vibration when you type. I also missed Google now integration.

4) unlike previous nexus phones the camera is absolutely fantastic!

5) the screen. It's beautiful. Am still happy to have chosen this over a 5x.

6) it's still a bit too big for my tastes. However I love the phone enough that I will try to adjust to it. I like the size of the screen but it's a bit on the large side. Maybe I need to not try to use one hand.

7) no issues with the fingerprint scanner so far. Best thing? The geofencing so it knows when I'm at home and I don't need to use fingerprint to unlock it! It's just a handy thing.

Overall impressions so far? Some of the best first impressions of a phone I've ever had.

I can only echo the positive sentiments others have noted.

I'm so happy I got this phone and I look forward to using it more. I'm debating whether to get a case or go for nexus protect which is now available in Canada.

Anyone know if you can transfer what's app chats from iOS to android ? I know it's not straightforward and I keep reading conflicting things on the net.

Usually things like this are not important to me but unfortunately I do have to keep a record of some texts and what's app chats this time round.

I still haven't got round to ordering the 6P yet. As mentioned previously I have a 6s+ now and one of the best things about going back to iOS after a year away is the brilliant keyboard. I rarely make mistakes typing on iOS and it feels natural.

I believe in settings as long as you back everything up it should appear on any device.
