Problem is the SD810 and the 3500mAh are to compensate for it.. Sadly this year the 810 is killing loads of phones battery.

If you still don't believe it, take a look at Xperia phones battery benchmark.

That's completely false! Nexus 6P is not using the same SD810 as in Xperia you mentioned.
The Nexus 6P uses the latest version 2.1, which comes with improved power consumption and fixes overheating issues.

Well for me battery life that requires root is battery life that doesn't exist as a rooted phone won't be getting anywhere near our company Exchange, so the phone wouldn't be a useful tool anymore. It's sad if even after all these years they can't achieve good SOT on stock.
Agreed. I don't personally believe in rooting or jailbreaking (especially not jail breaking)

This is from someone else I know with a 6p. Off the charger at 4:30am with plug in at midnight with about 5 hours SOT. His usage mirrors mine.

I've decided to keep my 6s+ and return the nexus 6p, not for any reason other than that I prefer my iPhone and iOS. The nexus seems a good phone, nothing particular to fault. Just my personal preference.

There is no fix for 810, v2.1 or not. It throttles like crazy. There are reviews, articles, and videos out there to prove it. Even the 808 in the Nexus 5X throttles like crazy (see Anandtech's review).

By the way, have any of you folks with the 6P tested how reliable its Bluetooth is? That's my main connection method especially in the car and iOS has been steady in this regard.

Yeah I have a Nissan Leaf electric car and Bluetooth works perfectly in my car. Calls, texts and audio via Bluetooth etc all work perfectly.

Good to hear, as I was a little bit worried now that I returned my SIM to my Nexus 5 as I have to return my loaner 6s+ and had some Bluetooth issues during a car ride. It could be a Nexus 5 + Marshmallow issue, but it's nice to know it's not haunting the 6P.

Actually my 6S Plus has had a few weird Bluetooth issues with my car. Occasionally during a call Bluetooth disconnects and car audio kicks in but the all is still connected and after 5- 10 seconds it reconnects again. It's happens a few times now and not sure if it's iOS 9 or the 6S + at fault. The other driver of my car uses an iPhone 6 and it doesn't do it and they're on iOS 9 too.

In my personal observation my iPhone 6 Plus had really big issues playing music through bluetooth of my car. Nexus 6P works without any problems whatsoever.

I have the same problem on occasion MRU...I figured it was most likely an issue with my car as I don't see the same problem in my wife's car. I unpaired/repaired to no avail. It only seems to happen if I'm playing music and I receive a call. If I'm not playing audio via the BT connection or I initiate the call, no problems.

Bluetooth, as a rule of thumb, appears to be wonky everywhere.

I'll have to keep this in mind while deciding which phone to get. However, I didn't encounter this one during my week's worth of testing the 6s+, so maybe I'm just lucky with my Pioneer unit.

I actually pulled the trigger and ordered myself the 6P. I was really close to buying the 6s+ yesterday so that I wouldn't have to deal with disabling iMessage and all that, but as the local stores didn't have the 64GB variant available so I had to switch to using the Nexus 5 anyway, I noticed one thing that tipped the scale towards the 6P. I had gotten too used to my headset control button triggering Siri/voice control every now and then when I was about to pause/resume music or podcast, but now when the button actually worked like I expected it to and did it in a consistent manner, having this functionality and saving a couple of hundred of Euros even when USB C cable purchases are taken into account, the 6P turned out to be rather enticing. Now waiting for the next Monday when the shipments start over here. I hope it won't take too long.

After a full weekend with the phone I'm overall pretty pleased with it. Definitely a keeper for me.

Only nagging issue I have found so far is that the auto brightness seems to have a mind of it's own. Can see me having to disable it as it seems to always be attempting to change levels.

Regarding Bluetooth. I have an annoying issue with it on my 6s+ which I never had with my Note 4.

I use Garmin Connect to pair my running watch and he phone which then uploads the results from the watch to the phone. The note 4 pairs with the watch as soon as the watch is on and bluetooth is toggled on the phone. The iPhone , it will only pair up the watch when I manually start up the Garmin Connect app.

Im guesing this is due to the Garmin Connect not refreshing in the background - despire Background App Refresh for this app being switched to On.

Strange, the fitbit app for example syncs in the background on the iPhone no problem.

Im getting other strange behaviour too - for example, Hey Siri not waking up the phone - definitely worked before I jailbroke it!

I dont tend to do much on a jailbreak anyway (apart from Stream video which I find really useful!!!) so I'll have to risk losing my jailbreak in order to find out :(

Does sound like something maybe broke software wise with the JB. Hope you get it sorted.

I think maybe I got a 'bad' ipsw file which I used to upgrade to 9.0.2 then jailbroke. All sorts of oddities. But Im sure they'll be resolved if I restore properly using an 'official' Apple iOS but of course lose the jailbreak.

Anyway, I can't 'upgrade' or 'change' to a Nexus right now, because theres a few WhatsApp messages in my profile I need to keep for various reasons I don't want to go into here, and as far as I am aware there is no easy way to transfer whatsapp chats from ios -> Android :(

Think the 5x and 6p will be discounted during black Friday or cyber Monday? Does Google have a precedence of doing discounts for those dates?

Maybe ... I would guess they may not discount by much as it was so close to the release. I'd expect to see more carriers and such pushing the likes of the S6/Edge & HTC M9 / M8S during black friday as they have been out a lot longer.

Moto may offer discounts on the X Pure as they often have sales in USA (sadly not transferred to Europe).

It's just a case of watch this space and keep checking their websites.

True. Looking to pick up a 5x for someone as a gift.

And maybe a 6p for myself =O (unlikely though). Depends on sale.
