Does anyone else find stock android difficult to use on a large phone? I find myself missing reachability and the swipe back gesture on ios. I have about 12 more days to decide if I should keep the nexus

Yeah it may be lambasted but I love reachability and would love same thing in Android

Google could do so much with the on-screen home buttons. Imagine swiping up from home button brings up Google Now in the center. Then you can customize left to pull down the notification shade; then the right side can bring up something else (maybe screen shut off or whatever). Then hold is your Google On Tap. All customizable.

I know there are tons of ROMs out there that allow this. I don't know why Google doesn't implement it into stock. It would be a natural and brilliant way to open up more options and to help address reaching up for large screen devices. Stock is frustratingly too stock.

I should run Google. Step aside Sundar.

The more negative comments I read about this phone the more I want to keep my 6s. The iPhone is not perfect but is the grass really greener on the other side ?

Well I'm on the same boat. I'm on the market for a new phone as the wife's iPhone 5 broke down and I gave her my iPhone 6. I'm going phablet this time and it's now a race between the 6s+ and the 6P. It's a hard decision and currently I have no idea which one I'll end up with.

Is money an option? The 6P is a lot less expensive.

This issue with this would be the same as the force touch issue. If it's not intuitive, people won't do it.

It is definitely a factor, but the phones aren't comparable 1:1 feature-wise, so it's not as easy as just comparing the list price. I actually wrote a blog post about my dilemma just in case someone would bother reading my ramblings: http://ilkkav.blogspot.fi/2015/11/going-phablet-but-which-one.html
Ah, and I didn't pay attention to the fact you live in Finland. Here in the US, the 6S+ is a ton more expensive than the 6P. My understanding is Europe does not have that convenience.

Good blog post, by the way. Extremely thorough.

Yeah well in Europe we can forget about the talks about the new Nexuses being affordable when the 64GB 6P is 699€ and I paid 789€ for my 64GB iPhone 6 when it was released. However, with the 6s generation the iPhone prices jumped approximately 70€, so e.g. the 64GB 6s+ is 969€, so it's expensive versus ridiculously expensive. However, with the 6s+ I might be able to skip upgrading my aging iPad 3 as it handles most of its use cases just fine, so when factoring in a skipped iPad upgrade the almost 300€ difference between the 64GB 6s+ and the 64GB 6P becomes rather negligible.

It's also nice to hear that you liked the blog post. Positive feedback is always appreciated.

Likewise! Out for delivery later today.

I like days like today. Friday, working from home and new toys to play with! :)
There is an update that has caused blacks to be washed out in the display. I will hold off on doing that update if you get the notification.

Also go get rid of the notification, when you swipe down for the notification bar, click and hold down the notification > you will see a "i" in a circle, click on it > then click hide notifications from this app or something of the sort.

Hmm, that was the November security update. I didn't notice any difference nor did the other people I know who own a 6p.

Too late!

I applied that a few hours ago. Was described as a Nov security update. Haven't seen any issues with the screen so far.

First impressions are pretty good. Think it will take a while to get used to the finger scanner placement on the back.

I've seen a lot of reviews praise the fingerprint scanner on the back.. I just find it hard to imagine using a scanner on the back turning out to be this useful. On this matter, I think Apple got it spot on!

Hmm, the 6s+ is starting to have a slight edge in the race for my next phone due to a couple of things:

1) My wife's iPhone 5 that was bought on the Finnish launch day is getting repaired by Apple as the broken power button was covered by a repair program. That's some good customer service and I can't quite see Huawei doing the same if I walked in with a broken 6P in 2018. However, I hope Huawei proves my suspicions wrong.

2) From the 6P's point of view, the timing of this is as bad as it can get: http://www.androidauthority.com/single-chrome-exploit-can-compromise-android-smartphone-655306/

Yeah no discernible difference I have found either.

hmm, there is a thread going on reddit about it...showing before and after pictures and it is noticeable. I am not sure if it happens to everyone who does the update or some. Glad to hear you guys are not having issues though.

It's extremely useful. In fact, I prefer it to be on the back. When I pick up my phone, I can comfortably hold it in any angle and still unlock before I look at the phone. With the iPhone (especially the 6 Plus and 6S Plus), trying to unlock it before you pull the phone up is just a tad bit awkward (especially for fear of dropping it).

Also, for the unaware, you can kinda have a little bit of fun with other people by pretending you're unlocking it with a magic keyword or something else.

Why would you look at your phone at a weird angle? I mean if you get a text, you'd rather pick it up to be able to read the text etc...

I have the 6s+ and I always pull it out of my pocket and then proceed to unlock with the fingerprint scanner on the thumb. If it's on my desk/table, I use any of my other fingers to unlock it and look at whatever I need to look at. With the scanner at the back (and no secondary scanner on the side) I'd have to pick my phone up and then "unlock it" (or am I imagining it incorrectly?)
