Question regarding google play music. If you do the factory reset, does it keep a track of which songs you downloaded and have an option to automatically download all? Or do you have to go through and download each individually?

No you have to download them all again manually from your library. It's a bit of a PITA

My battery and SOT has been a little hit and miss of late. I'm only averaging 3 hours SOT since December update and January update hasn't fixed it.

To me it looks like 6.0.1 did something to my battery life, it sure isn't as good as it was when I got my 6P. This is a bummer, as I've now had to resort to top-up charges every now and then. Part of me wishes I had gone for the 6s+ instead (and to be honest, had I known what iOS 9.3 was about to bring, I might have picked the 6s+). Well, let's hope 6.0.2 or 6.1 remedies the problem.

It could have been 6.0.1 with me too. Fingers crossed an update addresses it as I'm losing about 25-35% SOT compared to when I first got it.

It's approximately the same loss for me, and it's rather critical as it's enough to drop the phone from the "I'll be fine until I'm about to hit the bed" category to "Damn, I better make sure I have my charger and/or battery pack handy when I go somewhere". Especially now when "Hey, my phone's almost dead, can I borrow your USB-C charger?" doesn't have that good a success rate yet.

Hi,

I'm looking to buy the 5X (I have the iPhone) and I would like to know if the Nexus 5X has any sort of lag, stutter, bug etc. How is your experience with it?

Thanks.

Doze seems to work sometimes (it'll drop 5% during the night) and then sometimes it won't have kicked in and i'll be down 30 over night.
Wow. Obviously you don't need me to tell you 30% loss overnight is something beyond Doze not working. That would be unacceptable in 5.x Android. Are you using GSam or something that will tell you what apps are using battery overnight?

FWIW, don't want to jinx it but Doze works fabulously for me. I am not a power user and have other phones available at work and home, so my phone has extended periods of inactivity throughout the day + overnight. With Doze I get two days use per charge while still getting 4+ hours SOT. Can push SOT past 5 hours if I run to near zero on the battery. Generally lose .3% to .5% per hour when dozing. Two days per battery cycle would be unthinkable pre-doze and is a real boon for battery longevity (182 vs. 365 cycles per year).

Occasionally, something gets past doze and I'll lose 1%+ per hour during inactivity. Google Play Services can be a culprit so I'm hoping we'll see improvements in later versions of MM. Bleacher Report, which is heavy on notifications (my choice), is another. A phone reboot generally solves the problem. I think I've cleared the system cache once.

I have a 5X I've been using alongside my iPhone 6S and I can say that the 5X does lag here and there. It's definitely not as fluid as my iPhone. I don't know if its worth another $350 but its there. I've read alot of people experiencing lag on the 5X and having to reboot these phone to clear it. For me , Google Music is the wrist offender. The app takes awhile to launch and is laggy and choppy to navigate around.

Thanks for the reply.

That's a pity because now I would not buy a Google Phone (the 6P has a bad sound output with headphones, unfortunately) :(.

The 5X also has low output from the headphone jack. It's always been this way with nexus phones. My N4 and N5 also had weak output compared to my iPhone.

I'm in the process of trading my iPhone 6 Plus for a Nexus 6p. Will my sim just pop into the Nexus 6p with no problems?

The recipient is worried about the imei number on my iPhone being blacklisted once they receive it.

Is the 5x as bad as the Amazon reviews suggest? Specs and features are good for the price and the published reviews I've seen have been positive but actual users are reporting bad performance, bad battery, and lots of issues with camera and more.

I loved my Nexus 5 which just failed on me and I'd like to replace it with something similar and particularly something in around the same price range. Should I risk the 5x or any recommendations for a better phone in the $300-400 price range (or less)? Maybe one of the Moto versions? It would be nice to get a decent camera but that seems to be the weakest spot in that price range.

Do you think you will be interested in any of the upcoming phones for the 1st-2nd qtr of this year? i.e. S7, G5, M10 or the 4 inch iPhone?

If so then return the 6s to save that cash which you could then use to help buy one of the new phones. If not then you going to have to find some other way to help you make up your mind lol.

Wow, in MKBHD's 2015 smartphone awards video he names the nexus 6P as smartphone of the year.

He mentions that a recent software update from Google made the battery life insane. Something like 5+ SOT.

Is this true, 6P users?

For some sure, for others no. I got a slight drop off with mine.

How recent? At least by the time I traded mine for an iPhone 6 Plus a few days ago, the battery life was still in the state it was after 6.0.1, i.e. not as good as when I first got the phone.

Well, I'll be honest, I have high hopes for this phone. I have a 128gb aluminum 6p being delivered tomorrow.

I am perfectly happy, with my 6s plus...but Google fi caught my eye. My daily route makes it so that I am in wife coverage all but an hour of my day. I have unlimited data with T-Mobile, and my current bill for two lines is way too high for what I use. So I figured I would give it a try. Everyone I have met with the phone loves it.

I don't expect to get the same battery life, and I know I'll miss OS X integration and apps like fantastical if I end up keeping the 6p, and parting with my iPhone. But I have used swapped between the iOS and android for years, both have their advantages. The google integration and flexibility of android is enjoyable.

If the phone matches or even comes close to the reliability of my 6s plus, I'll be sold. The savings on my cell bill alone would warrant that. Honestly, I have high expectations for this phone, so we will see.

Be prepared to be disappointed. Lol. It varies with most people but I don't think I've had any phone be as reliable as the iPhone.
