I'm getting about 4 hours regularly, but I'm always listening to music on the thing, so sometimes I get less. Not enough to really matter. It's usually entering "Battery Saver Mode" around 10:30 at night if at all. Right now I'm at 50%. Can't complain.

Does listening to music enter in the calculation of SOT? Isn't the screen off when listening to music?

Listening to music prevents the phone from fully sleeping and keeps the processor active. Thus, it drains battery and decreasing the overall SOT.

Do any of you use the Tapatalk app? It gets laggy from time to time on my 5X. Like scrolling will get choppy. Anyone else get this?

I use it all the time on my devices. On my nexus 6P and new Z5 its very smooth. There was a bit of stutter scrolling on my Moto X style (but this was in all apps scrolling wise, including newsstand for me) . Maybe the 808 processor?

Is anyone using their iCloud email through the default Gmail app? For some reason my deleted and sorted emails in folders keep going back into my inbox even though a refresh appears to update my inbox. I'd would like to stay with just the single Gmail client rather than splitting up and going with CloudMagic.

Yeah I am and yes that does happen occasionally to me too. Not always though, and not enough for me to install another app.

I'm really contemplating trying a 6P but idk if I'd like that big of a phone. I like the size of my 6S and 5X

Okay kids, some sobering developments of late. I'm having horrible LTE connectivity. Like it's never happening. I live in Austin, one of the largest cities in the country and I drop to H downtown. Apparently this is a known and well documented issues. It's destroying my battery and killing my download speeds. Not sure what the best option going forward is, but the issue appears to be linked to iOS 6.0.1

Tried doing a factory reset and wiped cache in recovery?

I've been getting a solid 5hrs SOT on my nexus 6p for the past while, the update to 6.01 hasn't appeared to have had any negative impact at all. Love this phone. I sold the 6s plus last week and have had no regrets at all

What are benefits of rooting this device? I have tethering thru my carrier plan, purchase all my apps, and feel like stock u rooted android gives me more than enough options to customize. Any reason to root of these aren't important to me? The only thing I can think of is titanium backup..been out of the android rooting world for while

YMMV, but for me, I need to find a specific reason to root before I just go root the phone. I haven't had a reason to do so really since my S3 back in 2012

Tasker is a good reason to root. Doing things such as automate GPS on high accuracy when you launch maps and goes to battery saving when you close it. Also, switch to 3g when screen is off and LTE when it is on.

The gold has just been released here in the UK and it looks very nice. Ah, if I had the money

So I missed Android so much after leaving it due to work paying for a iP6s+, I decided to get the Nexus 6P since I finally got the Google Fi invite. Can't wait, I was actually waiting for Nvidia to release the X1 version of the Shield Tablet but couldn't wait any longer.

Just picked up a Nexus 5x last night. Don't think I'll stick with it long term but will use this to get me to either to GS7 or M10. So far it's pretty decent for the price. I'm not a stock Android fan so I'll see how it goes.
