Enjoying the experience on the Nexus 5 but the build quality is brutal!
You mean 5X?
Dump Facebook for sure.So my battery life has dropped to about 4.5 hrs SOT. Haven't done any updates. Installed a couple apps so perhaps one of them is causing it.
I dumped it and installed Metal, it's made absolutely no difference to my battery life.Dump Facebook for sure.
I don't use facebook lol.Dump Facebook for sure.
Correct. The phone won't sleep when it's playing music.I don't use facebook lol.
I just remembered that I have been playing a bit of music through the built in speakers. So I think that may explain my reduced SOT. I will keep the thread updated.

I threw a TPU case on my 5x and honestly I don't notice the build quality that much. Device is worth the money, I'm just not a stock Android guy. Feature for feature the S6 is a better device, IMO.By brutal you mean terrible?
I was thinking of picking one up too and dump my S6.
I'm really contemplating trying a 6P but idk if I'd like that big of a phone. I like the size of my 6S and 5X
Anyone know where I can pick up the official 6p case in black? (the one with the pattern fabric back)
I've been checking eBay/Amazon and the play store for what seems like months and they never seem to be in stock.
I bought mine from play store ..
One word of advise with this case however, it doesn't play well with tempered glass screen protectors. Because it's a tight fit and because of the lip on the front of it, if you use a tempered screen protector this case will cause bubbling & lifting along some of the corners and near the simple for power button.
Essentially if you use glass screen protector, don't go for this one.
I'd recommend the Nilkinn thin case myself. Super thin, super light weight. Works great with screen protectors too ...
Thanks. Don't use a screen protector (though I guess I probably should!)
Like the look of that Nilkin case though. Think I may well pick one of those up until they finally come back into stock. I'm a fan of slim cases anyway so nice to have two options.
Out of interest what screen protector is that? Might as well get one at the same time if it's cheap(ish)
Those are nice write ups. I wonder why they didn't compare the 6P to the S7 edge? They are more similar in size that the regular S7 is.....For those curious:

AA did a nice write up as well:

Because "they" is one person who decided to get the S7 for himself =)Those are nice write ups. I wonder why they compare the 6P to the S7 edge? They are more similar in size that the regular S7 is.....
sorry i meant "didn't" compare it to the S7 Edge.Because "they" is one person who decided to get the S7 for himself =)
I saw the pricing on Project Fi and it really hurts people who are not constantly on a WiFi network. They charge $10 per GB and I for instance use at least 2GB a month - so that makes it $40 a month.
I bought my iPhone 6S+ at full price and I'm on a T-mobile family plan where I'm paying $35 a month.. So this might not exactly work out very cheap.
And @Surf Donkey - how do you manage to use only about 500MB a month?
I looked at Fi when I had my 6P. I do like the concept a lot and think it will be a great deal for a lot of people. I think Google is on the right track to some extent.Fi is absolutely best for people mostly on Wifi networks. If you are a big data muncher, the only real advantage is that you don't have to pay for big blocks of overage data. You just pay what you use. And you can quit at absolutely any time.
As far as usage, I found it actually quite easy. I was normally using 2-3 GB on AT&T before my switch to Fi. Then I just changed my usage a bit for Project Fi and am finding only about 500MB per month:
1) Connect to Wifi Networks. No brainer, but when at the store, coffee shop, friends house, etc, I just get their networks in my phone. Over time this list grows.
2) Project Fi automatically connects to open wifi with VPN. Caveat on this is that there is not a lot of truly open networks out there, you normally must agree to the terms. I do find it from time to time when driving or walking around.
One big thing that I have read that helps is if you have Comcast. They have open wifi on almost every home router that people rent. (personally I think this is awful, and one of the many reasons why I don't have Comcast). But for Fi it is a big advantage as it will provide VPN secured wifi any time it finds a Comcast open wifi.
3) I restrict cellular data for music, photos, etc. Just any app that seems to run off data hungry. I download my Google Music playlists offline.
4) And perhaps the best, I just don't mindlessly use my phone when I am out and about. I don't Facebook when out. I don't refresh reddit just because I am sitting and feel awkward at a bus stop. I read a book, I look around, I talk with people. Honestly, this is very refreshing to me. I didn't realize just how much I had my face in the phone for no real good reason. The only big problem is that everyone else seems to have their face in their phone too

I work in IT security. That being said I see a lot of risks with always connecting to open wifi networks. Sometime they are honeytraps for unsuspecting people. Your device name and info is being broadcast to everyone on the free open wifi network. Then the Comcast part has all kinds of privacy issues alone.
Its the public wifi issues. Like airports and such when you have to agree to their terms of use. Do you know that can be spoofed? There are so many wanna be hackers stalking Starbucks and Airports wifi. Free wifi has so many risks and vulnerabilities it is mind blowing. Your device's information is leaking data to everyone on the network.Even with the VPN as a part of wifi assist feature?

What kind of wifi speeds are you getting through the vpn software? Does that take a chunk of the throughput?
