Hi.

I'm interested to a change from the iPhone but I've two questions:

1. Did you notice on your Nexus 6p Edge any lag, shutter or whatever?!
2. How is the audio quality over headphones for music (with/out viper4android)?
2a. … compared to iPhone?

Thank you very much!

Does anyone here have a Nexus 5X? I was wondering how has the March update improved the performance. The prices have come down quite a bit so I was thinking this could be a nice backup phone.

My wife has the 5X. Runs like a completely different device after the update. No more lags, better BT performance, better battery life. Used to have major issues with camera and other apps after 100 hours (or so) up time. That seems to be gone now.

More testimony here:

My Nexus 5X experience has also been just stellar after the update. Given the recent price reduction, there's never been a better time to buy.

Likewise the price of the 6P is $75 less than I paid for mine upon its release. Of the various new Android phones I currently have, my Nexus 6P is by far my favorite smartphone.

Google continues to make the Pure Android UI better and better at each update. I must admit that I didn't expect it to become so much better than the rest. I had a feeling it would be quite good, but never as good as the current version.

I'm so glad I bought these latest two Nexus models.

Hey guys.

Just saw an amazing deal on a local retailer for the Nexus 5X for 349 euros for the 32GB model. I currently own an S6.

Do you guys think I should sell my S6 and buy the 5X?

I care more for the stock experience than hardware specs. Would I lose too much in the camera and battery areas? Is the battery better or worst?

That is a very good question. I'm sure the camera on the s6 is better, but don't know if the March update has been out long enough to know battery? Reddit has a good impressions thread, lots of positive people

I get excellent battery life even with my heavy usage. Articles written have to find "shortcomings" otherwise it would be a dull review. The 5X isn't perfect (no smartphone is) but overall, in day to day use its fast, smooth and lag free. Running Pure Android is what a Nexus is all about. The camera is very good indeed. I'm certainly happy with mine.

You tried and found what's best for you. That's no bad thing.

For me the ideal dream scenario would be stock marshmallow or android N on the S7 edge :)

Yep. Ended up getting £610 for my GS7E which I thought was ok.

Now to decided if to go the Android N route on the 6P.

I tried searching for YouTube videos of the 5X with the March update, to see how much better performance is, but didn't see anything. I did watch some reviews and performance seemed worst than on my S6. Even the screen seemed washed out compared to the S6 in some comparison videos. The 2GB RAM also seemed like a big shortcoming when web surfing, since some large webpages had the white background thing when scrolling, whereas the S6 didn't.

I could sell my S6 for almost the same price the 5X is now, so that is enticing. The phone is good, but maybe in a year or two will feel much more outdated than the S6, despite having the latest Android version.

I read a lot on the 5X subforums in XDA and it seems than even with other kernels battery life is mostly similar to the S6.

I was almost 100% convinced to do the change, but after watching some reviews and reading the forums I'm not that sure anymore. Maybe I should go for the 6P, but I already had the Note 4 and had to sell it because I couldn't adapt to the huge size. That's why I was considering the 5X: smaller and manageable size.

Thanks for the input. Will keep researching today a little bit more. The offer expires on the 19th, so I still have a few more days to decide, but I'm afraid it could be a bad change. There's no place here where I can try the 5X to see how it performs compared to the S6.

Does your s6 have marshmallow yet? The update seems to be hailed like March nexus 5x update. People saying Samsung is turning a corner and increasing performance with a major android version update.

I hear you with your concerns about the nexus 5x. What you and I both want is the nexus 5p ;)

You've been reading too many Android haters posts.

My iPhone 6S Plus, side by side with my Nexus 6P reveals two phones so nearly identical it's amazing. You never see me bashing either platforms. I share first hand personal experience, not speculation or outright lies like the uninformed.

I spend big money buying every Smartphone of interest to me. I never rely on others.

Even worse, I've seen many posts where Apple Fans claim they own and have had bad experiences with Androids. Problem is the lies they tell reveal they've never owned the phones they say they do cause the "problems" simply don't exist.

There is no perfect Smartphone, yet neither do top of the line Android phones have "washed out displays" or any other gross faults the haters claim they do. Living in the past its obvious they have no experience with the current models.

Fabricated to make iPhones seem superior it's a scam so obvious it's hilarious. iPhone devotees are insecure and vain.

I'm coming from an iPhone 6 and I'll admit I was worried about performance on the 6p, so far I've had no lag or stutter, and only experienced one app crash, which was the fault of the app itself and not the phone.

Ended up ordering the 5X as I got a 32GB version for 349€. It'll be interesting to see whether the latest updates have solved the issues that caused me to trade my 6P for an iPhone 6 Plus. Well, at least the Android version of 1Password now has fingerprint support so at least one issue is gone :)

I just had my 5X delivered yesterday, I did the setup and updates on WiFi before installing sim card. After the March update my battery was losing 10% in 15 minutes. Did the wipe cache Android shuffle and overnight battery only dropped 20%. Impressed with the phone, fingerprint sensor is faster than my 6S. Using my rMB charger is a nice bonus :)

So I kept putting off updating my 6p. I just installed the January update about 1 week ago and have not received the February update as yet. So I won't even mention the March update ha-ha. Doesn't really bother me but I find it strange. Ah well.
