Yeah that's a shame (and also makes me relieved I picked up the 12.9 pro). I'm glad the SE got the same 2gb though.

Well I thought about getting the 9.7 as I wanted the Pencil, but not with the crippled RAM. 2GB on the SE is good news indeed, I really have to think about requesting a 64GB SE as my work phone. With the 6s prices coming down, it could soon fit into our price limits, but it would still be only 16GB. With a 4K camera, I think I could live with the smaller screen if I have more reasonable storage instead. Not to mention some of the reports claiming that the SE could beat the regular 6s when it comes to battery life.

Ram is one of the concerns I have with the Pixel C as well seeing android N is going to be more demanding and the lack of optimization of tablet apps on android in its current form.

3GB in the Pixel C... it's far from slow as it is right now.

My few days with N showed it's damn quick there too, and only the fact I need a few core apps that don't work on N right now brought me back to Marshmallow. I've used a few apps so far that, whilst not strictly table-optimised, scale pretty well on the screen and don't letterbox the app in the middle, or stretch the background out. Hardware and the changes to N really do give me hope for the future of Android on tablets though.

I'm really excited about a new Nexus 7 2016 with Android N onboard + 3GB RAM.

Would be an awesome upgrade over my 7 2013, although I'm extremely extremely happy with it. Still plenty fast and fluid, plus marshmallow works very nicely. Might also get N though custom roms.

Just ordered a 6P today. Seems to be the best droid for the money - hope I won't be disappointed...

Just got one two days ago. Previously had a 6s Plus, but since the introduction of Android N... I wanted to give it a try for a few months.

I'm definitely enjoying the Nexus 6P... I like the design of it. I never had a Nexus device... I've always wanted to try one, I had Samsung Note 4 for a couple of months and used a Galaxy S6 for a few days. I now understand why Android users have high regards for vanilla Android.

I had set on the sidelines reading the debate versus skins against stock. I side with the Stock version, I think thru the years Googles hardware design needed to catch up with their software design. Now, it seems they found a balanced. Been using Android N for the past couple of days.. I like it.

Coming from a iPhone user, I'm impressed with what Google has created both with Nexus 6P & Android N.

How are you guys with the 6p doing without OIS? I'm really close to ditching my Note 5 and going with a 6p, but I'm concerned about losing OIS as I have a 4 year old and notice a huge difference in pictures since I moved to an OIS capable phone.

Seriously you're dropping a Note 5 for a 6P seems an odd move, other than on the software updates side can't see much difference between the two.

Agreed with the poster above. Unless you REALLY want N early, I wouldn't drop it for a 6P at this point. At the launches, perhaps it was worth choosing for price. And yes, you will notice lack of OIS (mostly in video) for sure. All my videos seem very shaky.

I'm just fed up with not having MM yet. I wanted to experiment a bit and see what N was like as well, and wanted the freedom to do whatever I wanted to do with my phone. I'd keep the Note 5 so could always switch back to it. I'm also just fed up with not being able to tinker with my phone, Root for adblock and xposed are really all I want. I know the Note 6 will probably suck me back in, but until then maybe I can taste freedom again, if only for a short time.

IMO, the main reason for someone choosing a Nexus is the software experience. If the camera is important to you, I wouldn't choose the Nexus over the Note. Don't get me wrong, the Nexus takes impressive photos and in some cases better photos but it just isn't as quick to snap as the Samsung when HDR is involved.

Ois is not needed for photos on the Nexus but if you plan to shoot video in 4k then the differences are stark. In 1080p, its fine.

I am going through withdrawals with selling my S7 Edge. I sold it for $750 including the VR set. My dad has the VR set himself, so I will share it with him. I am looking at the pricing points for the S7 Edge now and it's a little too pricey for my tastes. I would bite at $450-$500, but I don't believe it's worth it at this time. I am going to order a Nexus 5X for $250 for the 32GB model through Project FI and then cancel my activation right away.

Yeah the camera makes it a tough choice. I have a 4 year old and OIS seems to come in handy. I wonder why they included it on the 6, but cheaped out on the 6p.

Exactly that, price. People thought the 6 was too expensive.

I've also thought about grabbing a 6. I love the 6" screen and a huge phone doesn't scare me off in the least. But I also wanted the newer tech/specs in the 6p. You can get the 6 for $200ish or cheaper making it a good option for someone who just wants to play around with N.

Why would people think the 6P is a corner cutter yet the 6 as expensive? The 6P is a much better device and a good upgrade to the 6. Cleaner look, better build quality, much improved camera, better processor, much better battery life.

The Nexus 6 is a good phone, but look how much it has tanked in a year in terms of pricing (as of Nov 2015)? $200 for a 32 gb brand new.

I agree with Nviz, the 6p is a much better phone in every regard (I had the 6 as well).

Because they cheaped out on OIS. I'm sure the pictures look better, and of course that's probably more important. But I am a bit miffed that the didn't put OIS in there.

I thought EIS did the job though? Or was that just a "bs" term that Google used in their Reddit AMA?

I'm not sure, that's why I was asking for real life experiences. I'm still very tempted, but the Note 6 is also right around the corner...arghhh

Lost OIS and wireless charging in the 6P. Plus I would say the build quality (not aesthetics - quality of parts, QC, etc) was far better in the 6 over 6P. The DAC is way worse in the 6P. And the processor is a dog in heat.

EIS does not make up for OIS. BS. There have been some comparisons around (I believe on Jerry Rig). In 1080p it suffices, but not as good. In 4K it is no question. Not sure the 6P even has EIS in 4K.
